I went to 3 different stores this morning and this location was my best experience. Not only did they have smaller square footage but the one on one help and suggestions were impeccable and really helpful. I'm new to sewing since 20 yrs ago that is and the associates were very knowledgeable and patient and they offer classes as well for super detailed instructions. read more

Just left the Fabric center and not very happy. Just last weekend the shop cut three fat quarters for my quilt project. I had to go back into to buy the same three fat quarters today. They did have 2 of the fabrics cut in fat quarter size from my last visit. So, I picked up the other material and asked if they would cut me a fat quarter. The owner waited on me and said I don't know how to do that. I said it's 18 x 21. He said I can't do that I'll sell you a half yard.So, really you could do it last weekend but, not today,so I couldn't nt finish my project. He said well you will have to talk to one of the girls who did it. . She was there I asked and she said she had to do what he said. So, let's do the math. A half yard would of been 6.50., and if you sold two fat quarters thats 7.50. Thanks for ruining the project. It's the principle on this one., not the 6 bucks. read more

I was having issues with my Bernina sewing machine and this place was recommended by a dealer in Greenville, NC. I took in my machine and within 4 days it was repaired. They fixed my original issue. They also gave the machine a great once over and found some issues that were repaired. The price was definitely reasonable and I am a pleased customer. The posts from 2017 and 2018 are from CA & WA which is no where near this location so not sure they are valid posts. read more

Awesome service! I had taken my Janome MC Horizon 7700 QCP to an authorized service center for routine maintenance and a repair. It was not fixed or cleaned thoroughly. Took the machine to New Bern Fabric Center and had it returned to me in perfect working order. Sewing beautifully and running as quiet as ever. They were also very thorough in their explanation of what was going on and how to avoid the problem in the future. Will return for all of my machine's servicing needs. read more

There were puppies there though and as much as I have no interest in having pets I did want to walk away with one. I will say this though, Skippy who has a produce stand in the back (closest to main road) was very, very generous. He and his staff give out samples of their produce and holy the strawberries and plums blew my mind away. I had no interest in buying anything, but, I did bring a half a bushel of macowen apples from my friends farm in MA with me for my trip. I asked to trade my apples for some of his berries and plums and he agreed. Probably brought him a pecks worth and he gave me some strawberries, plums and grapes! Good trade for both of us in my opinion. If you read this Skippy thank you again. I did buy a $5 berry and cream dessert from another vendor which I made them laugh because I skipped using the straw and just drank it out of the cup. I personally if I lived here would come just for the food.

We were greeted at the door by an incredibly attentive and informative young man named Dillon. He wasn't your typical salesman. He truly wanted to know what we were looking for so he could steer us to the right couch, asking about materials, style, etc. He helped narrow our search, saving us time and money. He really listened. That's a rare trait. No high pressure, trying to upsell extras we didn't want. He was pleasant and efficient. We'll be sure to seek him out again for any further purchases for our new home.
