As someone who has visited several Planet Fitness gyms across the US, this has been the most frustrating experience yet. A few things I wish I knew before coming here: -You have to pay for street parking -There are stairs/elevator to the gym area, which is on the second floor -You need to have a WiFi code which is only on the first floor -The gym is pretty much a dead zone -The front desk staff is not very informative when asked specifically, "As a first time guest, is there anything I need to know?" Why does all of this matter you ask? Well, because I have never needed to ask for a WiFi code at any other location, and I did not realize I needed one until I had already started my workout. If you are like me, you may need your your phone for music, podcast, videos, or other things while working out. Having to pause my workout multiple times to go downstairs, only to still not get connected, completely ruined the experience. I hated it here! Lbvs I will not be coming back, and I would not recommend this location if you are trying to avoid unnecessary inconveniences. Addendum- before writing this review I contacted the phone number for the general manager that's listed on the business card at the front desk which just ended up being the phone number to the front desk. There's no number to get in contact with the manager.

I decided to check…read moreout Trufit because it was just opening their Detroit location, which happens to be about 1/4 mile away from my office. It certainly doesn't get much more convenient than that. There are several different classes to choose from. TruX has a lot of the same moves and aspects of CrossFit but without the Olympic lifting. Trustrength has less cardio, and is (obviously) more focused on strength. SWEAT is predominantly cardio. And Glow Boxing is precisely what it sounds like - a cardio boxing class under party lights. There is even yogabon Saturday morning. The folks are nice the coaches generally good. You can register and schedule classes with the mind body app, which is hella convenient. It even syncs with my calendar. My main beef is that, only being open a few months, the schedule changes, generally without notice. I have scheduled classes at specific times, only to look at my calendar a few days later and discover that the time on the class was changed to a time I never signed up for. Easily fixable, but annoying. Hopefully random scheduling changes will happen less and less often as the Detroit location becomes more established.

Every few years, I give it a try and remember that I…read moredon't like incense, patchouli, BO, or shorts where you can see a guy's whole package inadvertently. Graciously, Full Lotus yoga only had 2 of the 4 things when I went, but it was fall and not crowded, so there may be BO and immodest shorts at other times. The space is very nice and new, the instructor gave great instructions and modifications. They have a variety of classes, I took one that was a Flow of some sort, so I definitely got a workout. I found them through the MindBody App, but they may be on ClassPass too. They have a variety of membership and class pass options. Be warned, it is on the third floor of the building so you get a workout before your workout. And only street parking, unless you're close enough to walk, or cycle, or hey, someone put that Qline to use, you gotta find a parking spot in what can be a little busy of an area. The street parking is free on the other side of Woodward but you have to pay off you park in the side the building is on. I think this would be a great studio for anyone that likes Yoga and all that that entails.
