I did not a good experience getting my needs met seamlessly. It required numerous phone calls to a variety of different employees who sometimes gave me conflicting directions and instructions. Way too many efforts to secure appointments with a psychiatrist. Problems with Medicare billing and processing. Awful customer service! I can't recommend New Directions. Plus they insist on your providing your individual credit card which they immediately charge you for before they determine the appropriate and correct charge for the coded charge and service. Found them via Google which was useless. So glad I dumped them. Some employees are just plain rude, and unwilling to assist you. GOOD RIDDANCE in all sincerity! read more

A family member sees Donette Svidron for Psychiatry. She investigated the patients history more than any practitioner of the past . She spent time educating us about the medication's. She communicated with the hospital. She worked with her front office to process paperwork efficiently. The front office was also professional and efficient. The quality of care is the best that I have witnessed, and I have personally worked in healthcare for over 40 years. read more

My teenage daughter and I were so lucky to have gotten a appointment with Jennifer Chairge. It was our first visit with her at the Meadowlands office and my daughter has improved so much already! She was so knowledgeable, and nice with both me and my daughter. We have seen another's and no one even compares to her honestly! I had my intake apointment with New Directions in the North Hills and was told my insurance would cover the treatment. That was in late June, 2023. It's now Septemeber and I've recieved two bills for a co-pay for medication but still haven't heard back from New Directions. I was told I was on a waiting list and I never heard back from them again. I've called twice (once in August and once in early September) and no one has returned my call. In short, they're builling my insurance company for the medication but not providing the patient with treatment. read more

Both of my children are on the chip program and highly needed a good psychologist and psychiatrist and they denied seeing them because they won't take them on because most of their people will not see Medicaid or Medicare. Is listed as a commercial insurance it's not Medicaid, and then they would not see me who has been on and off the broom of suicide because they don't like our insurance. I would not suggest them anyway shape or form. read more

I had a horrible experience here with Dr. Clinebell, Melissa, Denise, and Katie Ryan. Per my report they had an internal investigation of it all which I do not know the outcome of. But they assured me they understood my side. I'm very disappointed by the services I received here as it was a challenge at every turn. Dr. Clinebell wouldn't take anything I said seriously and had narcissistic traits. She overpowered me most of the time and had me on the right meds eventually but then that almost got thwarted due to miscommunication. Melissa said to me about a psych ward experience I tried to relay that she had her own ideas about the experiences there that "I thought you wanted ME to be expert." Passive aggressive. Denise has lower reasoning skills. To me saying I was escaping too much she said "Escapism is a good thing. Maybe what you need is to change your perspective on it." I pushed back for better help to no avail. She had a hard time grasping learning disabilities and it is my opinion she has one. Katie Ryan wasn't all bad but she would interrupt me and say "I'm going to stop you right there. That's negative self talk" or something to that degree. There's a time and place for that. You have to let people express themselves. I wish my experiences with these individuals had been better. Lacey was the only therapist who was not just good but at least rational. She left though the profession. I hope my feedback is taken seriously and changes are made. read more

Sandy is a great therapist. She's very attentive to me and is helpful to me no matter what I address with her. I am very happy because I think that she works well with clients who have a disability. She might challenge a thought but she doesn't want to be confrontational. Her goal is to challenge how a client thinks about an issue. If you have anxiety and depression or any other mental health issues I would recommend her as a therapist. read more

Michael Schneider and Allison Bashe responded quickly to my initial criticism and apologized for the circumstances that caused my son to languish on a waiting list for nearly eight months. More important are their concern for my son's well-being and their placing him with an appropriate counselor. Their efforts are appreciated. read more

I am writing an update to this review due to the clinical director of this organization reaching out to me personally to try to help me with my bad experience. He seems to genuinely care about me having a positive experience and I have been engaging with him on future steps to take to help with my issues. While we have not started on this new treatment track yet I feel it important to update the review to reflect the fact that he is going out of his way including spending a decent chunk of time on the phone with me, which he did for free, to attempt to understand my concerns and the experience I had. Would I recommend New Directions at this point? Certainly. Would I recommend Kimberly Clinebell for depression? Yes. Would I recommend Kimberly Clinebell for anything else? What really comes through is that from the time of the first call -- and all the way through the counseling -- is that everyone at New Directions truly CARES. That makes all the difference. Well--it does for me anyway. It's amazing to me how you can go from stuck to un-stuck -- from overwhelmed to feeling better. To any prospective client: Save your time and money. This place is all marketing. The website is snazzy and the home page begins with "Change Begins Here," along with a nice little "connect with us" button. Don't get fooled, though.I went here once, and will never return. Here's why: 1. There is no privacy in the waiting room. Every therapist I've visited has a confidential waiting room and schedules 10 minutes between clients. Here, however, this was not the case. The waiting room was a group setting. Upon arrival there was a clipboard sitting on a table with my name and the Dr. whom I was seeing. This could be seen by everyone in the waiting room. 2.The therapist was ten minutes late. In addition, I did not receive the full treatment time. 3. As the therapist was late, it was anticipated the session would begin immediately. This was not the case, however, and the therapist insisted payment prior to treatment. Her manner was invasive and not welcoming or cordial. 4. The therapist was unfocused and inattentive during the session. A mountain dew bottle was next to her chair. One can only surmise the caffeine may have contributed to her inattentiveness and lack of focus. One specific of inattentive behavior is the therapist got up from her chair to walk around the room during the session. 5.Everything can be heard upstairs. There is no sound proofing. My session was held in an office downstairs, and I could clearly hear what occupants were saying upstairs. Thus, it is likely they could hear parts of my session. Further, it was difficult to state confidential information during the session, once I quickly realized everything could be heard. 6.Compassion and empathy = 0. I came here to seek compassionate care. It was clear from the inattentiveness and disorganization of the therapist (she was shuffling papers, not able to make proper eye contact) that I was, in-fact, just a warm body in a chair. 7.They just want your money! As previously stated, the therapist was rather demanding regarding payment pre-session. Remember, she was also late. Also, several times towards the end of the session, the therapist kept saying, "would you like to schedule an appointment." It was an up-selling sort of style. When I politely declined, she persisted, stating: "I think this is a good fit, are you sure?" Keep in mind I came in to resolve an extremely personal matter which was intricate (not a simple "oh, I need to change jobs I don't like my job, etc.). read more
