I had been in this strip center several times eating at China Wok and Sabrina's restaurants, but had not even noticed that Oasis was right next to Sabrina's. When hungry, I can be rather myopic. So, in I went. Looking around the shop was sparsely inventoried, especially compared to some of the other "delis" in the area that try to offer everything you could possibly want, from macaroni salad to chewing 'bacci. Frankly, I don't really see the grocery side of the business being anything more than a poor man's Seven Eleven. But, the Honey Turkey and Swiss Hoagie they threw together for me was astounding considering what they had to work with. The deli refrigeration unit had only D & W products, and only a small amount of each. I asked for Lettuce, Sweet Peppers and a little Mayo, and I watched as a head of iceberg came out and was sliced fresh and put into the long roll. Then, Sandwich Man pulled out a large plastic jar of Red Sweet Peppers, and with his gloved hand reached in and extracted a huge handful of bright Reds and spread them out across the face of the creation. Slices of Swiss on top and bottom finished his opus, and I watched him bind, wrap and seal the submarine tightly before bagging it. Upon opening at my desk, I beheld a Manwich. It was a beautiful job dressed in a superior and textured long roll, with all the innards barely contained within. And, it was very good. While I entered thinking that this strangely named deli might be more of a deserted atoll, I sat happily corrected with a sandwich large enough for 2 lunches. This was truly an Oasis where a life sustaining submarine could come to your rescue.

The steaks are very high quality and some unique cuts of beef (and I'm hard to impress having grown up on a beef cattle farm), yet the prices are the same, if not better than the local grocery stores. Plus, I love being able to have something cut immediately if I need something special or a large amount. They have a really well stocked pantry selection with some very nice imported Italian tomato products and some beautiful basic produce. I often will come here to get what I need to make dinner. Last week I got a tomato (in March!) that was one of the best tomatoes I've ever had... crazy!

At first glance I was excited about this store and some of the items I was able to find…read more However...they over charged me by making a mistake at the deli counter. I did not notice until after I left the store. When calling the store I was met with the worst customer service I've ever encountered. I was put on hold and disconnected. I had to explain the story several times and transfered to several people. I was on hold over 20 minutes . No one would give their name. One woman when asked "Who am I speaking too?" Would only say "Customer service ". She eventually transferred me to a manager who was so rude I don't think I can even explain it clearly enough in this . First he tried to say "HOW DO YOU KNOW THE PRICE WAS WRONG?!" in a very agressive tone. He then put me back on hold to check the price then came back and blamed me for ringing it wrong myself because we went to self check out. When I explained I could not have rang in it twice as he claimed because there were 3 items in one deli container...I swiped it once and all 3 rang up individually with that swip...If I would have double swipped they all would have shown being rang in twice but that's not what happened. The item I was double charged for (which there were 2 of) rang up two times but at twice the price they should have been. For some reason he just wanted to blame me for the mistake. So I got annoyed by this and asked "Why is it so important to you to blame me.? Why can't you just except your employee tagged it wrong and refund me my money? " He insisted because it was my fault and I should be more careful! He did refund the money (after I said I would contact my credit card company) but insisted on continuing to say it was my fault. I asked his name and his response was " I'm not going to tell you!" .i don't care if they had the only food available in the stae...I WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!
