A great local Italian deli to pick up a myriad of prepared foods, baked goods, and specialty groceries. I can only speak for the baked goods, but everything I had was great. We ordered the biscotti, cannoli, rugelach, pignoli, and rainbow cookies, which came to about $50. A little pricey, but everything was fresh and the cannoli were made to order. Aside from the cannoli, the pignoli cookies were my favorite. Will definitely be stopping by again to try their deli sandwiches and hot bar!

When you're craving some true Italian specialties and a fat sandwich to keep you full all day long this is where you want to be. The absolute highlight was the hot chicken sandwich with vodka sauce and mozzarella. Oh my God, there was nothing like this. I could have eaten this for four days straight. We also got a cold chicken cutlet sandwich with prosciutto and roasted red peppers that wasn't my favorite. I think just because I really preferred a Hot chicken sandwich. Rather than the chicken cutlet being cold. We also got a small container of the pesto, tortellini salad, that was good, but not worth the price for such a small portion having it go by weight was very hefty. The store also had lots of grocery items as well as prepared foods things you can heat up for dinner pasta. If we were from the area, we would definitely be going and grabbing more stuff, but we were just passing by as visitors. The service behind the counter was so nice so quick. Everyone working there was very nice and patient. Once they complete your sandwich or any personalized order, they have it sent over to the counter so you can pay and you can stroll around the store in the meantime. If you want to sit and eat, there are two or three picnic tables outside for you to enjoy your food .

If the universe had any sense of justice or rhythm, Dolce & Clemente's in Robbinsville would be declared a quasi-holy site, preserved under glass, and studied by future generations trying to understand how joy was once manufactured in a humble New Jersey deli. The Italian Special is not just a sandwich. It's a novella of flavor. Mortadella, capicola, soppressata, provolone - a love letter written in meats and cheeses, neatly folded into a crusty, chewy Italian roll that should probably be playing opera. I took one bite and was instantly transported to a sunlit piazza where my Italian grandfather, who never existed, was laughing over a glass of red wine and gesturing wildly at nothing in particular. The staff here, God bless them, are not just slicing cold cuts and ringing up orders. They are performing acts of small, noble heroism. They greet you like you've just returned from war. They remember your name, your order, your kids' names. They recommend things you didn't know you needed and they are always right. And then there is the pizza rustica. We get it every Easter. That sacred slab of egg, meats, and cheese is more than food. It's a ritual, a family heirloom packaged to-go. It has layers like time, like memory, like love. Eating it reminds me that life, despite all its absurdities, is still worth showing up for every spring. So go. Eat. Thank them. Smile. Five stars. More if the system allowed it.

If you're looking for authentic Italian salads, pastas, various sauces, fresh baked goods, or the most delicious sandwiches on the east coast look no further. They have everything from bread to cannolis, salads to olives, and pastas from Italy and Brooklyn. One stop shop for anything you need.

Extremely tasty sandwiches! Borderline too packed with meat. It's hard to chew. But the flavor and price point actually align with the cost. Once you see the sandwiches you understand the prices. Great store front. Lots of great items. It's an Italian market wonderland.

    Silly Pricing

Being from NYC I was excited when an Italian deli/market opened in my new hometown of Robbinsville. Results of this place have been mixed to poor. But it's important to note that this place is highway robbery when compared to similar Italian Deli/Market style places in NYC. - Food is meh. Some things are good (fresh bread and some sandwiches), some things are poor (most of the prepared food have bland sauce, soggy pasta, and/or are just poorly executed.) - Service is non-existent. It takes forever to get something from the counter and checking out is a hilarious process. - Ambiance is generally nice but crowded. - Prices have become so HIGH they are silly and offensive because you know you are being taken advantage of. Why do I have to wait at the deli counter for 15 minutes to get fresh mozzarella? Weigh it after you wrap it and put a price sticker on it. Boom. Just saved labor behind the counter and customer wait times. Recently I bought: - a ball of Fresh Mozzarella ($19) - 1 box (10 pieces) of 7 layer cookies ($20) - 2 packages of Pappardelle Pasta ($9 each) - 2 loaves of fresh bread ($5 each) IT COST $67 !!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING? Same thing at a deli in NYC outer boroughs would cost $28. AND THEY CHARGE YOU $1.97 NON-CASH FEE AT CHECKOUT!! They are looking to gouge the customer at every chance they get. If the food and service were superb they could get away with overcharging some. But the food is not that good and they are not just overcharging, they think they exist in a theme park. Unfortunately, I'm done with D&C.

A big thank you to Dolce & Clemente's for the generous tastings this past Saturday. Though busy, I never feel rushed shopping here and I truly appreciate the time spent learning about the regions and process for the products. I ended up falling for this beautiful organic Sicilian olive oil from Terranno. I went with their Decor bottle which was slightly more affordable for the same amount of oil as their signature ceramic bottle. I also selected the Cattani Olivewood Balsamic which is aged 8 years and finished in an olivewood barrel. The balsamic uses indigenous grapes from a vineyard in Modena, Italy. This is a fifth generation family owned and operated balsamic producer. As you walk into the store you enter surrounded by gianduja hazelnut chocolates. To the left you see a full bakery with Italian cookies and pastries. To the right you'll see a section of oils and vinegars. Panettone lines the back wall. I selected a delicious pear and dark chocolate for $17.99. There was an amazing chocolate and orange peel panettone at the tasting ($40). Beyond this is a prepared foods section. There's typically a line here, so I wander to the cheese and chocolate sections. Along one wall you'll see rows of fresh pasta and refrigerated sauces. Along another wall you'll see mortadella and prosciutto. This time of year there are several advent calendars and is an excellent place to pick up holiday gifts. Frantoino Terrano (Decor) organic olive oil = $24.99, Acetaia Cattani's Olivewood Balsamic = $24.99, Clemente's black pepper Taralli = $6.99, Paolo's Pistachio Crème =$8.99, Pocket Coffee = $7.99, Caffarel Limoncello Truffles = $7.99, Bitter Chocolate with pears = $5.99, Pear and Chocolate panettone = $17.99.

Wide variety of choices for sandwiches/hoagies. Easy access to parking. Prices are decent and the food was very fresh. My wife ordered the pink panther which is essentially chicken cutlets with vodka sauce. It was very easy. Could've used just a little more vodka sauce but it didn't deter from the flavor. I ordered a chicken Caesar and it did not disappoint either. Service was quick and I received everything I ordered without issue. I can see why this place is a staple and has so many great reviews. I'd recommend if you just want some good food.

We just quit going out for Italian other than for tomato pies, but now we've begun actively looking for a place to enjoy simple Italian food--outside of the ubiquitous tomato pies. Gennaro's was our first stop, with the menu definitely reading more New World Italian than Old World. We started with a couple of appetizers: The Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms in Scampi sauce and the Antipasto Salad. I'm not a fan of Antipasto salads (I've a three item max addition rule for salads and tomato pies), but my wife enjoyed it. It was your standard antipasto salad for the area--perhaps more generous with the meat and cheese than the last one we ordered up the street at Papa's. The stuffed mushrooms had a good flavor, and although the sauce didn't really hit me as Scampi (the garlic wasn't really there), it was still good on its own, and I'd order it again. My wife ordered the Pork Chop Giambotta, which she truly enjoyed. It was a thick, good sized pork chop covered with a sauce that included potatoes, sausage slices, and sautéed peppers. The menu said that the peppers were hot and sweet, but they were pretty much 99.9% hot peppers. If that's an issue for you, I'd make a point in mentioning it to your server first. My wife doesn't do spicy, but luckily I was there to find a home for the hot peppers, and she said she'd order it again if we returned. My Veal Saltimbocca, however, was a letdown. The veal was overcooked and had lost its tenderness, but most surprising to me was that it was very different from the standard version I've known for years. Had I read the description more carefully, I'd have caught the fact it was in a tomato demi-glace rather than the white wine and butter emulsion I know and love. Also, the ham that was used was not the thinly sliced prosciutto one normally sees, instead it was a thick slice of something that I can't honestly tell you was prosciutto or not. The use of spinach instead of a sage leaf wasn't a complete shock, as I've seen that before. Overcooked veal, the prosciutto mystery, and tradition straying aside, the flavor almost bordered on being alright, but it definitely wasn't what I'd hoped for when I placed the order. To add insult to injury, I asked for pasta as my side, and was given a couple choices--I chose the linguini and got served a dente-less spaghetti. When I asked the waiter (who was otherwise extremely conscientious and attentive) if they were out of linguini, I was told that there's really very little difference between the two, which so blew my mind that I just shrugged and ate. While we were there, we could see that there were many people who acted like regulars enjoying their meals, and many of them were also eating tomato pies, however, we're on the hunt for a place that's going to satisfy our need for an Italian place that provides beyond the pizza oven. I'm up in the air about a second shot--my wife was much happier than me with the location (which means we'll likely go), but I'll definitely ask our server more questions about what I'm ordering next time to avoid any surprises.

The garlic knots (3.25/5) were a bit on the smaller side, but served in a nice portion size with a decent garlic kick to them. The large cheese pizza (3.5/5) was a small notch above the central New Jersey average, with the dough, sauce, & cheese coming together for a nice pizza experience, although I did have to sprinkle on some spices to add to the flavor profile a bit.
