Yesterday I went to purchase a piece of window glass approximately 22" x 30" and was charged $82.88, including tax. I called today and asked if there had been a pricing error and Greg informed me there had been no error. I told him I thought the nearly 6X cost compared to Lowe's was a steep charge to support a local enterprise like the Coop and he sharply responded that I should shop at Lowes. Well if that overcharging rate persists and is similar across the line of products sold there, one should not be surprised to learn the Coop is shutting down glass sales and other items are surely to follow. A snarky response from Greg compounds the issue with trying to support this enterprise. OTB

The second one they filled super quick. The owner was very friendly. Prices for refill and recert were great. They have a tremendous amount of building supplies, tools and other hardware for sale. Needed a key cut and programmed for 2003 Honda with a stuck lock. Nick, the owner took the to look at issues; then cut and program "my" key blank for the price of cutting the key. The blank I provide had a blank chip and little work was needed to copy the program to the newly cut key. They are closer to being a Target department store than any thing else, but they become progressively less satisfying as you get handier around your own house. So I was very excited to finally find Devon Lumber. The shop is really just a bunch of old guys, sitting around a warehouse. They know their tools. They know their wares, and they are gruff, but pleasant about the shopping experience. I went there, and immediately felt like I was part of the gang. They crack jokes. They ask you about your project. They learn your name if you shop there enough, and that is exactly what I need when I have to run out to replace that screw I dropped.

All decking and railings were PVC and come wrapped in plastic. I recently discovered 4 extra railing post kits that were left over. A couple of the posts had been left outside for a few weeks and the packaging was dirty. I went to return the materials yesterday, Sept 21. Lou, the guy in the office said he would not accept the return. One of the employees nicely offered to wipe off the packaging. Despite the first packaging being cleaned in 2 minutes. I was told we are not crediting you, you didn't buy it like that. I spent $19,400 at Devon this past summer and couldn't get credited about $250 because some packaging was dirty. More importantly I was told that they didn't care. I just thought this type of service should be known.

I went to the office and told him what I needed and showed him a sample. He double checked for me the right product and checked to see if they had it in stock. I thought I would have to order it since it's a pretty obscure product, but they indeed had it in stock. I showed the pink slip to the yard employee, he quickly grabbed the concrete bag and told me to drive up to the shed. He grab the brick from the shed and off I went.
