NESN 360 is awful. Watching hockey east semifinal game that goes to overtime and they stop coverage at certain time and claim this event is over in the beginning of overtime! Overpriced and just amateur hour. Would not recommend. read more

Just had what could have been a difficult customer service situation with NESN that turned out great, and wanted to thank the NESN team for doing such a good job. I purchased a year of NESN, then discovered that there is no NESN app for Samsung TVs. I asked for a refund and they said "yes" with no friction. Too many interactions with businesses include them trying to convince me that there's a work around or that I could make do with something less. NESN just said "ok" and for that I'm grateful. I still need to figure out how to get NESN when the Sox start up in the Spring. I stream Hulu Live TV which does not include NESN and may switch to Fubo, which does. Cheaper than buying a new TV :-) read more

Generations in my family have watched the Bruins games together. But, the last time my sons and I watched, we spent more time figuring out which ads were in the Garden and which were superimposed by NESN. There were black banner ads on the glass in front of the fans, dynamic advertising on the ice on each side of the blue line, video ads with flashing colors on the boards and embedded advertising during the broadcast. BRUINS, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! The changing ads on the ice distracts from the puck, the video ads on the boards distract from the entire game and the blackout ads on the glass are just tasteless. You could not get me to watch this for free, never mind paying for NESN. NEVER AGAIN! Absolutely disgusting. Bye bye Bruins. As for the advertisers runing this experience, boycott their products! read more

I received notice at the being of June 2025. My annual subscription (bday gift for my fiance in July 2024) was expiring and i needed to update my CC. I canceled but continued to receive service until the ACTUAL expiration date of July 2025. He didnt watch the Bruins like I thought he would, so I switched to a monthly subscription. From that moment on EVERYTHING went downhill. I downloaded the NESN APP from my email confirming my subscription. And when I try to open it, I get a message saying I need a subscription. I was able to open it from another email. WHAT A PIECE OF GARBAGE. It is like having a dial up modem...constantly glitches, audio and video dont sync, and now buffering. We have tried EVERYTHING...updating the TV, rebooting the WIFI, uninstalling/reinstalling the app. It is fine on the phone, it is when we try to Chromecast.i It was FINE before the"update". I am canceling my subscription ASAP. read more

Terrible Terrible Terrible steaming service. I thought it was bad last year (2023) - they are worse this year (2024). Not only is the video quality comparable to 720p or less - this year, their commercials magically "keep on playing" right into the inning. So, you'll finally get to see the inning at about 1/2 way through - then, at the end of that inning, you're thrown right back into the commercial washer machine. NESN should be ashamed of themselves. Red Sox fan since 67 , I have only watched 2 games since 2021. That debacle of announcers by committee was like participation trophies. Have watched NESN for years and now I find they have continually changed their programming for the worse. Many people can't stay up late due to working the next day so relied on the morning recaps and sports updates which is now replaced with some kind of betting/odds show which frankly is boring and of no interest to me. I have DirecTV now and the price has gone up a lot, forcing me to buy a higher package to even get NESN. Top it off with the change to NESN 360 for a ridiculous fee, who needs it, I refuse. Yes Directv owns a piece of my cost, but now with NESN format changes I think its becoming worthless. Living in New England, you would think Nesn would appreciate the fans input. read more

NESN at it's best would get 4 stars but that all changed because not only has the channel gone down in quality over the years, but they perhaps made the worst move in all of professional sports by deciding to part ways with the beloved voice of the Red Sox, Don Orsillo for 15 years. I will get to that bit later First things first, when the Red Sox were a dynasty team during the 2003-2009 years, the games were an absolute joy to watch because obviously the Red Sox were a very competitive team and were in the playoff hunt year in and year out. From 2010 to 2015(minus one championship fluke season in 2013) the Red Sox have become a dreadful team to watch and have fallen short time and time again. Despite how bad the Red Sox have been for the last five years, there was only one reason why their games were still worth watching, Don and Jerry in that booth. They were the only people who were able to make the telecasts worth watching. They not only were knowledgeable but they were not afraid to have fun and when the games became unbearable to watch, they were hilarious to watch and the TVs were kept on even if the Red Sox were losing 12-0. Classic booth examples include a man throwing pizza at another person, photo shopped pictures of Don or Jerry doing something funny, Jerry doing air guitar and falling over, and Don being scared by a mouse. Those moment were why despite how good or bad the Red Sox were, those two men were always there in our living rooms. But that was all taken away from us when some big-shot, nobody, blowhard Joesph Maar(who has only been with NESN since 2012!!!) decided it was time to make a change and get rid of our beloved broadcaster. Aside from the Red Sox telecasts, NESN itself has some pretty terrible show choices. I mean who the hell wants to watch Small Talk? They also have had a lot of terrible shows that never made it past a few episodes. I mean Sox Appeal? Come on. NESN also has one of the highest turnover rates you will probably ever see on a network. Every month there is some new schmuck on one of their lame sports shows who will be gone next year. I mean when you are talking about a channel who decided to part ways with their best employee. What do you expect when they have bad reporters? Without Don and Jerry being together now, the best thing about this channel has been eliminated and it will be a lot harder to enjoy watching those Red Sox broadcasts. Especially if the Sox continue to suck. read more

NESN gets only one star for their huge amount of ads in Red Sox games. Also, Jerry Remy needs to stop trying to sell all of his crappy merchandise over the air. Remy, your t shirts are over-priced and I would not be caught dead wearing one. Don Orsillo is a horrible announcer. Not only does he rely on cheesy cliches like "Down by way of the K," but he can't go an inning without mentioning the pitch count. His "Captain Varitek" call during last season was the cheesiest game winning call ever. His forced enthusiasm when the Sox win is utterly fake. He brings nothing to the table and simply reads from the media guide. Another thing I don't like about NESN is that they try to appeal to Pink Hat Nation with shows such as Sox Appeal. read more

There is only one way I can watch Red Sox games: NESN. Why, pray tell? Orsillo and the Rem Dawg. Where else would you get discussions on pizza projectiles, Mel Gibson, how giddy Don was to meet Rene Russo, Remy's air guitar skills, whether the dates on Sox Appeal are going well, all while still getting good discussion of the games. I also appreciate the non-funny stuff, like when Remy and Don give some of the good context (tonight, they explained why Toronto's stadium looks so foggy... fireworks). So not only is it good TV, it's also informative too. Contrast this with the boredom of the Fox and ESPN-broadacst games, and you see how important NESN is. And where else can you get Sox Appeal, the only dating show focused on the Red Sox? Or the Bruins? Or replays of the late late games? Just NESN. read more

I live in Los Angeles and happily pay extra for NESN, for one purpose only, Remy, Orsillo, and Sox baseball. Remy and Orsillo are uniquely entertaining, in a somewhat nontraditional way, displaying a fun chemistry. Considering games take 3+ hours, this tandem does a great job of bringing the game between the lines to life in my living room, while also keeping me entertained with their whimsical banter. I'm not sure Red Sox fans know how good they have it. I grew up watching the Yankees and Mets and lived in Philly and Pittsburgh so I've heard my fair share of baseball broadcasters. Let me tell you, NESN really does have a good thing. Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo have a great chemistry which makes watching the game highly entertaining. Jerry Remy, in particular, knows all the Red Sox history but its not like the whole game is just boring anecdotes. They are constantly breaking the monotony by goofing around. Having the pre-game show right outside Fenway for home games makes the fan at home feel more connected to the game, as you can almost feel the excitement of the fans behind them. For the fans at the game its exciting to see all the guests they have on as you eat your Rem Dog. The amount of coverage that NESN devotes to the Red Sox is incredible. read more

As an A's fan that kind of annoys me. Honestly, It's mostly jealousy but it amazes me how the Yankees and Red Sox get their own network because of their incredible popularity. I've been watching NESN since at least 2000. Occasionally before then, but mostly since they decided to make themselves part of "basic" cable. They are the standard when it comes to broadcasting Red Sox and Bruins games. The rest of their programming can be a little out there...."Hello Charlie Moore". But it's funny, usually. I haven't lived in Boston most of the last 15 years, so I've had to resort to DirecTV. How nice I can pick up NESN there. Yes, I had to pay extra for it, but they are worth it. Someone please tell Jack Edwards that he's an announcer, NOT a screamer for the Bruins. He's definitely NO Fred Cusick....but that's a really high standard to live up to. Remy and Orsillo? Hmm, I don't know what either are like away from their jobs, but when they are working....they HELP the game be that much better! I live in jersey city, NJ but thanks to DirecTV i now have NESN, and boy what a shock. Yes it revolves mainly around the Red Sox but come on, everyone in New England grew up rooting for the Red Sox. I especially love watching SportsDesk, not the least of which is because of Hazel Mae. I can watch her do anything. She wants to read the menu of Dunkin' Donuts, thats fine by me. And Tina Cervasio isnt bad on the eyes either. But what i love is Jerry Remy and Dennis Eckersley. I love the Red Sox coverage with TC, Jim Rice, and Lou Merloni. I think Don Orsillo does a great job, and Jerry Remy is great when he's being serious. However, Remy can come across as an arrogant jerk. I don't know what it is, I just think his head got to big. The Bruins coverage STINKS. Andy Brickly is a good color guy, but Jack Edwards might be the worse hockey play by play guy this town has ever seen and heard. Other reviewers said it well... they have so many great games in their archives, but they keep showing the same ones over and over. I almost gave NESN 3 stars, but I couldn't because of Comedy All Stars, Sox Appeal, and Charlie Moore. Just play the Sox, Bruins, and maybe some of those old WWF shows NESN produced from the Garden in the 80s. read more

RE: Your broadcast of the Red Sox/Braves on Channel 628 03/05/17. Please do not let the announcers of this game ever get near a microphone again! They talked about everything except what was happening on the field. I counted several times when two and three pitches were made and they were yakking about who was playing Blackjack, how the food was, etc., etc. One time, four pitches were made and not a word out of these two about the game. They are very annoying and, like ESPN, I am watching the game with the sound off. On the other hand; the two announcers on Saturday's (03/04/17) game between the Pirates and the Sox, were excellent. Just enough in way of statistics, off field activities of the players but I could tell that they were really into the game. Real professionals. read more

Overall watching the Red Sox on NESN is prime viewing. What really frosts me is when commercials run over and the game comes on with action in progress which means missing game action. The inane interviews which often over ride the game is annoying. When watching a game with someone less "watchful" takes some explaining when reruns of a previous play is confused with what is actually happening. NESN has done pretty well for itself as a regional sports network. Their coverage of the Red Sox and Bruins are fantastic and their Sports Desk is a great way to stay on top of the latest in New England sports. They do have a lot of filler programming that could be cut, but they can't show pro teams all the time. read more
