I came to this school to get my CDL, and honestly, it was the worst experience I've ever had. The classroom part was decent I actually learned a lot there. But once you get outside to train? It's a mess. There are barely any instructors, and the few that are around change constantly. It feels like they're always firing and hiring, so there's no consistency and no support. I signed up for the full course to get my Class A, and when it came time for hands-on training, they basically handed me a piece of paper and said, "Figure it out." That's not training. You're completely on your own outside. No structure, no guidance, just frustration. I would not recommend getting your CDL here Class A or B at this location. Horrible people works outside with the students. I was given a test date of May 2025 and never happened. Spoke to Ed and waited weeks and did not call me back. I went in person and spoke to Debra Varner and she said that would have a test date and did not happen. People forget if they wait too long without practice but they dont care. They talk & talk but do not deliver. Do not spend time & money with this company for your CDL classes because they do not care about you. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL!!! Watch out everyone for the review written by Allen S. Because it shows that a member of their staff wrote it! Is not like this person described it. Not very sensible and very negative customer student experience. I concur they are not happy people. I went in and they asked me why I wanted to be a truck driver. The man was a complete jerk bag saying, " well you have to pass a drug to just start our school". Implying that I was a drug addict or something because I had longer hair. Can anyone say discrimination? They are not friendly at all and I recommend going somewhere else. I don't do drugs at all assholes. read more

New England tractor truck training school is currently misleading student applicants into applying for federal government loans for extra $6000 that the students are obligated to pay back, when the course costs are $5000. The combined amount of $12,318, when the course intital cost is listed as $5,423. When asked about the second $6000 to $7000 dollars federal government loan students are told its just a 10 year loan that's easily paid off. I tried to ask simply for a cash paid price, disregarding all potential financial aids, grants, etc, and the lady continued to keep dancing around refusing to even provide that price. She then got rude with me because I tried to simplify the question, as I was feeling like she was having trouble understanding the simple question of, "how much is the cash paid price for a class A CDL" she kept continuing to speak over me and dismiss my question by circling back to pushing the idea that they need to have a full meeting and financial investigation just simply to provide a price. I would never do business with a company that can not even provide a clear price for what they are providing. I would strongly suggest that others do the same. read more

I read another raving review 5 stars. I am absolutely positive that was written by an instructor or other employee of the school it sounds exactly like the line used by a few instructors. I went to NETTTS as a short course student. The instructors were very helpful. They gave me the space I needed to learn and were available to give me direction as I needed it. NETTTS worked with me to find a schedule that fit the time and days that I could attend. NETTTS provided the resources I needed, I just had to show up and utilize them. Thank you to all at NETTTS who made it possible for me to obtain my Class A CDL. I would recommend this course to those wanting to obtain their Class A CDL. read more

In truth I would like to give 4.5 stars - but given the choice between 4 or 5 I have to give them all 5. I have heard complaints about how expensive NETTTS is along with complaints about the age of their equipment - these are figured into this review and the 5 stars. If you feel that the expense or their equipment is an issue for you find a cheaper school or one with better equipment - very simple. That said - NETTTS will give you all the training and tools you need to pass your CDL. A or B test - but it's hard work and you must be ready to put in the effort. INSTRUCTORS - some great and some not-so-great. Gravitate to the ones you like and they will take good care of you. There was one instructor that I could tell right off I would not get along with - so I avoided her the other instructors made sure I got the training I needed. CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION - I did not take the classroom instruction so I cannot speak to that directly. However, the students I worked with on the field were well prepared - so they must be doing something right. (I did not need classroom instruction because I already had a class B CDL and was upgrading to class A) FIELD WORK - I found myself standing around waiting for my turn and it was irritating at first. How can you learn these maneuvers if you are standing around? Well you can and their system works. Yes - you need to be in the truck to learn what you need to do - BUT YOU CAN LEARN WHAT NOT TO DO WATCHING ANOTHER DRIVER. Learning what not to do is as important as learning what to do. After a while I used the stand around time to keep my logbook updated ( they will NOT let you drive on the road unless your log is up to date). I also used the time to talk with other students and work through issues I was having by asking others what they have done to overcome problems. This system is slow - but it really works. Expect to spend two months minimum training on the field. THE SCHOOL IS STRICT ABOUT DRESS AND BEHAVIOR - wear sneakers or shorts and you will be sent home. Make a safety mistake and you will be told every single time. They will hold you to the "industry standards" you will be expected to follow once you are employed as a truck driver. EQUIPMENT - The yard equipment is 20 years old and not street driveable - but you are doing slow speed maneuvers without any throttle - these trucks idle all day long - everyday. They are fine for the purpose they are used for. The equipment I used on the road was in fine shape - some was newer and some was 20 years old - but all of them were good machines. The equipment I tested on was a 20 year old tractor - I passed my test and that tells the story. MISINFORMATION AND THE RUMOR MILL - I found that some students were giving incorrect information on the field to other students about laws - test requirements or procedures - trucks - the school - and many other things. Just don't blindly assume another student knows everything no matter how confident they seem - after all THEY ARE STUDENTS! Confirm all important information with an instructor - they will set you straight. IF I HAD TO DO IT AGAIN I WOULD RUN RIGHT TO NETTTS. No school is perfect and I had my share of irritations, but they do exactly what they say they are going to do, which all you can expect from any school. read more

Having attended NETTTS for 5 months now & subscribing to the "long course" (required if receiving any financial aid) after a lot of consideration; dependent on circumstances and personal goals, abilities and financials, would certainly consider forking over the cash for the "short course" if I had to do it again. That said, despite the 500 hours I have attended and having a test date soon, there are many students who have not made it through the course for one reason or another. ie: my class started with about 10 students, only 2 of us made it to the maneuvers in the "yard" after a grueling 11 plus weeks of class time. Grueling may be different individually, for me it was long and drawn out unnecessarily. A quick breakdown as I understand it in approximates. 5k equals 8 weeks to CDL-A on average, and that includes the "permit course." 4k and do your own permit course - 6 weeks to CDL (theoretically) If language is English and IQ greater than 100 - should be all set. If not take the two weeks to review, as somehow a lot of people still did not pass the many common sense questions entailed in the permit exam. With diligence & a bit of luck on who instructs you, instructors and students alike, some are organized and motivated while others, not so much. It is "adult education" so a lot is left to motivation, attendance and learning ability as well as what guidance or lack of is given. As I write this reflecting on the entire experience has been average - about 3 stars. FT classroom instructor, dedicated a 4 plus, however as the process progresses the 6 P's I rely on personally dwindle quickly (Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance) there is no doubt. Essentially my expectation was to get driving for 30 mins to an hour once a week while in the field. Not a high expectation considering 25 hours a week of class time. For whatever reason the concept is to cram all the driving in the final week prior to testing, with scattered "shifting drills" somewhere mixed in throughout. Annoyed. My class, over 10k, much payable back in student loans, while we watch 2 week preparedness CDL-A programs take precedence over trucks, driving, testing areas, everyone else is put on hold or negated. There is no system established for valuation of preparedness, very hit or miss and independent on the student. Except we cant drive on our own. Grads come back and drive to prepare for jobs, people who fail their tests multiple times (at 125$$ every try) keep getting drive time, all with the rational that "you will drive the week of your test!" Absurd. Annoying, Frustrated. Just go sign with a company, let them train you and at least get some drive time. read more

My husband is a current student. He took the long course because we needed financial aide but wish he hadn't. While the instructors are helpful, the school is completely understaffed. Currently, he has less than 2 weeks left and he's sitting there with no instructor just trying to get into a truck to practice his maneuvers on. Do yourself a favor and find a different school. read more
