I had not been to Sam's since they moved across the street a few years ago. As a customer I went for some colored pencils and the staff was extremely helpful in finding items for a gift. I was walked by a staff member to several areas of the store and items to choose from were placed in my hands while the staff member explained the features and made recommendations. The level of customer service and help is something you don't commonly see in retail stores these days. The store has a tranquil vibe which makes it fun to browse the many gift items. Their stock is unique in that they carry a breadth of items that are high quality at a range of prices. You can spend a lot of time here finding inspiration and treasures. They offer art classes and during the Christmas season they offered free make and take craft classes. They had a small cardboard 'house or cottage' setup inside the store with tables stocked with all the supplies you needed for that weeks's free project. This was not just for kids. My friend and I had fun making gift tags the day we were visiting the store. The store is beautiful inside and out. The beautiful murals that cover the outside walls echo the beauty and fun you will find inside the store. Since they are popular the parking lot can get pretty full.

So what was a small job in terms of the work required was super important to me that I find someone who would get it done correctly. When I waked into Frame Masters Gallery, right at the height of the holiday busy season, I was anxious that this might not be possible. My blessed luck was to meet Christina Martin, who sensed the urgency i was feeling, and dropped what she was doing and immediately began to effect my repair. Few owners have this sense of being able to see how important a job -- even a little job -- can be to a customer, and respond accordingly. There were three employees at the register and they were all speaking to one another. There were a few self-service registers so the other customers on myself just chose those and checked out. No one said hello, no one said goodbye. What a shame! They do sell balloons though since party city closed so that's a good thing! They unfortunately don't have a great selection of Disney styles, but they do have a few. I think it's comparable to Publix so they also blow up from outside purchases too.

So I then drove to Michaels, I was told by the Manager that there was nothing they could do, Ashland is a separate company and Michaels will not return them, fix or exchange. So we have a decorated tree that is not lit, Basically a throw away. So the Manager said you can call 1-800 Michaels but we were on hold with them for now going on 48.31 minutes. So basically we flushed money away! Hard to imagine a company would be this irresponsible with their service, but here we are.
