We don't get to this side of town much but since we were in Winter Springs for another event we decided to shop around a little. This Hobby Lobby has a ton of stuff, just about anything a hobbyist would need. We arrived a little late this go around so I didn't have time to shop for long. Items on my list included a good quality wood glue, wood files, and a small wood chisel to fix the nut and bridge on a project guitar, and they had them. There were some other items I had to buy online through Sweetwater that I couldn't get here but that is to be expected. Staff are friendly, and the store is well stocked and organized. Pricing is on par with other hobby shops like Michaels, and JoAnne Fabrics, but be on the lookout coupons and sales because they are always running deals. All-in-all, a great spot to find supplies for all of your hobby needs and other unique projects. read more

We have a Hobby Lobby about 4 miles from us. I just love this store. It has so much to offer. There is just too many good things to say about this wonderful store to list here. This particular Hobby Lobby has a friendly enough staff and basically, has what you would expect from a Hobby Lobby in terms of the selection that they have to offer. The selection that they have has various price points. Since I was here not long after Christmas, they did have some pretty good discounts on what they had for Christmas. I like to shop for gifts at Hobbly Lobby since they have so many different items. This time, though, I was here for myself. I had received an outdoor pizza oven for Christmas and needed an outdoor table for it. Sadly, I did not find a stand for my pizza oven here, but I did manage to grab a few other items. I wouldn't leave a review if it weren't for Rhonda. What a superstar she is! The store was crazy since it's a few days before Thanksgiving. Homegirl was cashiering, answering phones, and every other cashier called out to her at some point to ask what the price of an item was. She knew these things off the top of her head! What an absolute rockstar. Despite the madness of the store, she remained extremely friendly and pleasant. Walked in to have a jersey framed. There was a bell at the counter that read "please ring for service". There was a man working in a room behind the counter. He was very annoyed I rang the bell & replied snarkily "I'm right here". I apologized for inconveniencing him. He asked "What are you needing sir". I told him I was looking to get a jersey framed. His reply was "well if you need it for Christmas, it's not happening". I'm sure he was busy but the attitude was unbecoming. I will not be doing business with Hobby Lobby in the future. read more

I knew, deep down, better to come here. Hobby Lobby is not a company I feel like doing business with that often, I now can pinpoint one more reason why. Sure, they have a wide variety and the store is nice and clean. That's where they earn two stars. The main issue I had with this recent visit is the checkout line. We had a few items. We go into the shorter of the two lines. For some reason, the woman two places ahead was taking a very long time. She had an issue of some sort that needed explanation before they could continue (?) The lady manager, dressed to the hilt in 1920's garb (for some reason) hovered by the exit. After a bit, she comes over and tells the woman behind us to go to the other lane since it's moving a bit faster. Then that woman is swiftly taken care of and leaves. Meanwhile, we have not moved at all. Finally I decided to switch lanes and asked the woman in front of me if she wants to cut because she's been waiting longer than us. Then, the first line starts moving and the 20's lady comes over to direct us to the original register. Here's what's wrong: I realize all businesses are hurting for employees. But that doesn't mean customers should be skipped. 1. The manager should have opened a register quickly, even if she took two customers, it would have relieved things. 2. Don't tell the lady customer to move lines- tell those who have been waiting the longest! Needless to say, for future art needs, we will be going out of our way to shop the competition. read more

Please be sure to remember what's on sale when you checkout. Make sure the cashier applies the discount. Some cashiers are awesome and know the sales but many still do not. Esp if they're jumping from off the floor. Awesome little crafts and the 40% off sales are decent. The main complaint I have is that I have had to return to the store many times to get the difference refunded to me because the sale was not given to me at check out the first time. I wish I could give less than one star. I went in to hobby lobby to get some items for mosaic art. When I went to checkout, there were two registers. One said returns and the other was a regular checkout. I went to the regular and the employee (Jaela) said "I'm not open go to the next one," very sharply. So I did and there were three people in front of me. A line began to form and eventually Jaela called someone to their register and starting telling people to go to the other line. I was next but she had the people behind me go first. Then when I got to the register, the cashier Ana was giving her Subway order to another coworker and totally ignored me. Finally I checked out and she said maybe 2 words to me while Jaela just stood around. I'm never going back to this store again. read more

This is the umpteenth time I've had to wait and wait, and wander to another dept looking for staff to help me in the fabrics. They have a bell to ring, which I swear they just put out to mock you. This hobby lobby use to be an Albertsons and remains almost the same inside minus the food part. A lot of things to see here specially if you are in to crafts or just want to decorate your home. I was in here looking for wedding stuff and the selection is very limited and not a whole lot to choose from for weddings or even to creat your own wedding invitations or wedding stuff. Barely any staff around to help and the one employee that I did ask just told me it was by there "floral" or were they keep there fake plants. Lots of stuff but not what I was looking for so four stars is a fair score for this place. The inside looks a lot bigger then it was when it use to be an Albertsons and the lay out is great but maybe more signs to find stuff or staff to help would be great,on a positive note it is a Christian own store so it is CLOSED on Sunday's and they play a lot of Christian music in here and have a lot of crosses. Hello, I rarely give reviews, but I am also rarely impressed by first visits to a place, so I figured I would share my experience: I came in to this store only to see if they would honor an online price that I found on their website. They didn't have the item in stock, but Alex in the framing department was happy to help and wrote me a raincheck to honor the price. It had to be a special order, so he told me when I could expect it and called me when it arrived. When I came to pick up my order, all the staff was GENUINELY friendly and kind, just as they were when I first stopped in. There were no issues at checkout with the raincheck and Alex helped me take it out to my car. Also, both times I was in there, I didn't have to put up with loud annoying pop music over the store PA. It made for a much more pleasant shopping experience, and altogether, this store made a great first impression on me. Their prices are really low, but so is the quality. Their home items are already broken in the store or they will quickly break at home. The wood items especially fall apart. Also, their Christmas decorations will barely last through a second season that you use them. Considering dick blick online has better prices for fine art supplies, I wouldn't come back here for that either. And they never carry the deeper gallery wrap canvases. read more

I tried to describe Hobby Lobby to my husband the other day. He said, So it's like a Michaels and Home Goods." Yes! Something that HL offers that Michael's does not is fabric cut to your desired length. Prices appear reasonable, and prices are more reasonable when HL has sales and offers coupon discounts. Located in the K Mart Plaza at the intersection of Tuskawilla Road and Red Bug Rd, in the space formerly occupied by Albertson's. This Hobby Lobby opened up last month and is buzzing every time I drive by the area. The layout is the same as the Hobby Lobby Colonial plaza, so it's easy to navigate and get to items if you'd been in that store. Great selection, great sales, cool assortment of items. I stocked up on some fall and Christmas decor and crafting items. Nice art department. The staff is very nice at this location. I just wish there were more registers open. Mainly because, sale items have to be manually keyed in and discounted individually...so it's never a quick check out, or a "I'm going to run in for one quick thing!" Give yourself that 10 minutes for the check out. Minimally. read more

Wow!! The first time I went to this store was a few weeks ago. This place is awesome, I'm not a designer or know much about style. But the feel was peaceful and the options of items to choose from was endless. I ended up going down each row and still don't think I was able to capture everything with my mind. I have to go back and do it again with an idea what I want my place to look like. However I do know I will be spending a little bit of money at a Hobby Lobby. This is located in winter springs and was very clean inside. The staff was friendly and offered assistance when I was looking lost and it's really easy to get turned around. I love Hobby Lobby! This store was just as big as the others I've been to. All of the sections were broken down pretty much the same as every other location. This is the perfect store for all of your crafting needs. They have holiday decor, fabric, paper crafts, home decor, etc. The day we went was a week day while everyone was at work, so the store was pretty empty. I visited the Hobby Lobby on Colonial many moons ago. It was when I furnishing my apartment and it was a great store. I found tons of cool things, and there selection of frames, was really good. I wasn't about to spend a ton on pictures that were framed. So I found some really good prints online, and just needed some odd shaped frames. Well, hobby lobby came through. I even bought some stuff that was already framed. Overall, I was very pleased with the selection and variety of items. More recently I swung into the hobby lobby in Winter Springs to pick up some christmas plates and napkins, but they were all out. Dang!! So that was a bit disappointing. Oh well. However the staff was very friendly, and helpful and checked more than once to make sure that they were indeed out. I didn't get a chance to walk through the store, but it seemed it was the same type of layout as the colonial store. Hopefully I will get a chance to walk through soon again to see what kind of stuff they have! read more

I like this store but honestly the customer service sucks. Everyone that works here is miserable. In fact, I don't think I've encountered an establishment filled with more negative and miserable employees ANYWHERE. If you ever see an employee smiling, consider yourself having witnessed a small miracle. Any attempt to ask someone for help will result in a sense of annoyance and feeling like you're interrupting some important task. If you happen upon two employees talking to each other in an isle, better walk past quickly or you will surely hear enough negativity to put a damper on any fun shopping experience. I've tried to ask a cashier how his day was going, and he just laughed at me. Tried again another time and received such a snarky sarcastic comment, I had to pick my mouth up off the counter and ask myself if He'd actually said it or had I imagined it. I've received a large huff and sigh when asking an employee where I could find a specific department. I've waited in line for 20+ minutes with 20+ people at 1 register out of 20 open while the one person working continuously calls for help with with no results. Ridiculous. No wonder this person is usually the most miserable. I'm pretty sure the basics for success in any business start and end with the value of every customer. I really don't think it that hard just to smile and be nice to people spending money in your store. What is it? Low wages? Poor management? Lack of viable applicants? Someone please help me understand. The ONLY reason I keep coming back here is the prices. Some of the prices are great, and the rotating 50% off sales make it worth it. Also, the woman who works in the fabric and sewing department is a gem. I don't know how she can stand working with the rest of those Debbie-downers. But that doesn't change the fact that I always leave this place feeling like I trespassed or something, and wasn't welcome to come or ever return! What an unbelievable joke. read more

I usually shop at this particular Hobby Lobby but recently had this experience: Brought the print I had been given for Christmas to get it mat and framed. I approached the framing department where no one was working. I dinged their service bell then waited about 5 minutes, I repeated this about 3 times before I tracked down a lady from a different department to see if anyone was working. She found someone in the back who said she was busy unloading the truck but then proceeded to help me. She told me it would be ready in 10 days and they would call me Monday morning to pick up. Mon morning came and went so I called them about 1pm. Once someone finally answered in the framing department, she told me it was NOT ready because they were unloading the truck (maybe customers should come first?) but would call me when it was. 7pm rolls around, still no call. I call them and after being on hold for 10 mins, the lady answers to tell me it's not ready but will be within a half an hr... They close at 8, it'll be ready at 730 but she assures me they were going to call. Don't tell customers their merchandise will be available and then not even attempt to contact them after you forget about it all day long. Crappy Service!!!! read more

We stopped in last night to check it out. First time and absolutely loved it! Kids loved it also. Bought after Christmas decorations. Enjoyed the pictures and wall decors. Wood working and leather crafts were awesome! Definitely plan to go back and spend more time there. Really enjoyed the encouraging and positive art and pictures as well. Frankly speaking, I don't see what some of the reviews I've read here depict. What is true for me is an amazingly valuable, courteous and well stocked store! As a matter of fact, I've experienced at times that they are short handed, however, the store is gigantic & I realize there are just as many customers waiting "patiently" to be served. Usually, this happens on major holidays or on their special sale events. BUT NEVER TO THE EXTENT THAT IT HAS BEEN EXPRESSED IN SOME OF THE REVIEWS. I've been a regular customer of Hobby Lobby at Tuskawilla since they first opened and I've NEVER had any kind of "negative experience." On the contrary, from the very start they have been gracious, helpful, attentive, pleasant and accommodating. Therefore, it is not likely that any of those reviews would sway me, NOR YOU, from shopping at this Hobby Lobby.
