UNDERCOOKED. Big pass. Chicken: The sauce isn't the best. It wasn't tangy enough, it wasn't sweet enough. It has a cheap flavor. The chicken is over breaded, over cooked, and dry. We got take out from New Great Wall a few day's before Christmas and I must say, this was by far the worse Chinese food I've ever had. My wife and me had the cashew chicken which consisted of, no lie, a bed of cut and steamed carrots with about 7 cashews in the entire meal. The chicken, of which there was very few pieces, had the flavor of cement- and that's me being nice. Before we're accused of not going by the establishment to avoid accepting much deserved responsibility, below is a photo of the food that we threw away. I was beyond disappointed when having this "cashew chicken"- to be frank, the dish should have been called carrots wish a side of unflavored chicken. So I order from here.. just wings.. get home and rice is in the bag. So I take it back and tell them they made a mistake. He tries to take the rice back and I tell him no you can't I will keep this for my inconvenience. He says someone is coming to get the rice.. Be prepared to wait a while if you're coming at dinner time and haven't phoned in your order. Despite their apparent popularity, I thought their food was really only about average. The key characteristic of average Chinese takeout is the dreaded yellow fried rice. This evening, we tried the pork egg foo young and sesame chicken. I was charged $14.50 . Management must have changed since the last time I ate here! The food was horrible!! Me and my family ordered wonton soups, fried wonton, and teriyaki chicken. The quality of the teriyaki chicken was bearable. The wonton were dishes were made with old ingredients. Very mushy and tasteless, we literally couldn't eat it at all. Go somewhere else. For several years, we owned a business a few doors up from New Great Wall. During that time, it was consistently one of the better Chinese take-out restaurants in this part of Delaware. Not any more. New cooks? New owners maybe? Some of the worst Chinese food I've ever had. With daughter 3 home from college, and wife & son working late, daughter and I opted for Chinese. It's been a couple years, but we wanted good food. New Great Wall 2015. Total waste of $55. Shrimp and broccoli. Besides being greasy without much sauce, the shrimp were mushy (paste-like) and smelled very strong. Obviously old, on the edge of being spoiled. Nasty! House special fried rice. Three of the same mushy shrimp, some chicken & pork bits, no vegetables in the dry rice and absolutely no flavor. None. But that was developing to be a theme for the meal. Pork egg foo young with extra gravy. A favorite of son and mine. Not this one. Tough consistency and, surprise, no flavor. Very bland. Shrimp egg rolls? No shrimp to speak of and no flavor. Come on! It's an egg roll. one of the basic parts of the Chinese menu. I've eaten frozen ones better than these. Fried crab meat wontons. Decent size wonton but skimpy filling -- once again without flavor. So what you're left with is fried wonton corners. Oh well. The dog enjoyed them. The only entree that was up to par was the sweet and sour chicken. However, to my taste, it's greasy, doughy coating on chicken pieces. It's not one of my favorite foods, so I remain underwhelmed. At least the white rice was good. I'm done coming to this place. I ordered my food and got there early. I waited. While I waited I witnessed one of the employees flossing their teeth with a picker and barely washed their hands. The rice, which was supposed to be white rice, had brown stuff in it. Needless to say I threw the food away and WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS STORE. Horrible experience from regular patron.. places big order which included shrimp fried rice with extra onions. Received dry plain rice with shrimp. Called in same day whe I got home person on phone said they would leave receipt and when I came again let them know. That was Sunday, today, Friday I went and placed order and advised what happened Sunday he acted like he didn't understand on phone. So when I got there to pick up my order he then said I give you extra cookies I said no I want my order replaced. He said only if I brought the rice back.
