There was a slight mix of ages, which was great for my daughter to experience as an only child-one year it was like having older siblings and then she was the big sister! Rebecca (owner) & Hope gave me so much support as a new parent; they were completely in tune with my child. I asked for & welcomed their spot-on/invaluable feedback b/c I could see they were right; their guidance+advice and the time at Robin's Nest absolutely helped my child to develop into a magical little being. We established a solid Waldorf foundation built on a well rounded curriculum, love, & friendships we still and will continue to have for life.

It is very much a "business over student" mentality and there is a major lack of communication. The school does not have / does not want to provide the resources to address individual children's needs. Although past reviews are positive and we were drawn to them, this is not at all the environment that currently exists. EDIT in light of the director's response: Books were not provided until AFTER I pointed out how this school was violating Oregon Administrative Rules requiring quiet activities for non-napping children during nap time. I also witnessed video footage of nap time where *multiple* children were being loud and disruptive, not solely my child. This is more evidence of how certain students have become targeted in cycles at this school.

Miss Jamie truly loves her students & teaches them manners along with letters & lessons about our world that gets them ready for Kindergarten in a fun way. They spend time outside, play in nature, go to SMART reading where adults read to them, they are given books, and have lunch & playtime with kindergarteners of Ruch School. Hard to mention all the pluses! They do not have school on Mondays - only Tuesday - Friday. We loved it. Most holidays are on Mondays & it's great for weekends away & planning other activities like Ballet which are hard to cram in after school. Tuition is low & very affordable especially for the high quality of the preschool. One of the few preschools with After Care till 3:30pm. Lunch & snack is included & you can get the monthly menu on the Medford School District site. Our daughter liked to bring lunch at the start but soon wanted to only eat the cafeteria food. She likes the salad bar, pizza, mashed potatoes & chicken nuggets. They have vegetarian options. Although YMCA runs the program, once you are signed up Miss Jamie is great with parent emails & communication. Ruch School & parents also support the Preschool & makes it perfect for those who want to continue on in Ruch School through middle school. Currently the Preschool is full for 2018-2019 - however they are considering adding a teacher to accommodate more students. Definitely get on the waitlist & they may be able to add everyone on the waitlist if enough people call. I truly loved the program & only heard about it through other moms. YMCA doesn't advertise at all. I'm posting this in hopes that other new moms don't miss this amazing resource.

I cannot recommend this school enough. There is just not enough praise given for the accommodations and considerate teachers and the staff at Parkside Elementary. My son attended Parkside for 4th grade, his teacher was incredible and worked alongside him with his extra needs, she encouraged him to challenge the limits and expectations that came from his special needs. Mrs Holland made sure that my son did not feel out of place or like he didn't belong even while respectfully and willingly accommodating his 504. The open communication from his teacher was frequent, transparent and comforting. The process of getting my sons 504 in place was made so much easier with the teamwork of all of the staff, making sure he had everything he needed while recognizing where he should be challenged along with places he may struggle, They made sure that every teacher/staff member that worked with him knew of these accommodations, so it was never a struggle or something that I had to continually fight for. Anyways - if you don't want to read the whole review, just know - **The school is incredible. It is very clean. The staff is very accommodating with any kind of special needs. The teachers are down to earth and are there because they have a heart for it.** I absolutely recommend Parkside Elementary School.
