My biggest feedback for them would be to have more info on their website about the pool access and what's offered (towels, robes) and how long we have pool access (it's all day, btw). I went here Thursday for a massage because I was feeling tense and needed to relax. The next day, however, I started experiencing significant pain in my right shoulder and right side of my neck. I understand that some soreness can be normal after a massage, which is why I took over-the-counter medication and waited to see if it would improve. Instead, the pain continued to get worse throughout the weekend. By Sunday, it had gotten to the point where I could barely move my neck or sleep comfortably. I called the business around 1 PM because I wasn't asking for a refund--I simply wanted to see if I could come in and have the area looked at or receive some help with the pain. Jane took my information and told me she needed to speak with Sasha, the manager, and would call me back. Hours passed with no call back, so I called again around 3:40 PM. I was then told they couldn't get ahold of the technician (May) who performed my massage because they weren't working, and that they also couldn't reach the manager. I explained that I've had massages before and understand that some soreness can happen, but this was not normal soreness for me and the pain was becoming severe. I wasn't even demanding a refund. I was simply asking for some type of assistance because I was in significant pain. Instead, I was told that nothing could be done until they could speak with the technician and manager. Then, about a minute after I hung up, they called me back saying they could refund me. I agreed to the refund since they couldn't provide any assistance, but then they said they couldn't even find my transaction in their system and that I would have to contact my bank and dispute the charge. At this point, the entire experience was extremely frustrating. They couldn't reach the technician, couldn't reach the manager, and apparently couldn't even locate my transaction. What makes this even more disappointing is that I initially gave this place 5 stars. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and trusted their service, but when I actually needed assistance, I felt completely dismissed. Very poor customer service and communication. I expected at least some effort to help a customer who was experiencing significant pain after their service. Instead, I was left feeling like no one wanted to take responsibility or even help me figure out what to do.

In addition I have been working through a strained right front delt issue that has limited a lot of my resistance exercises, so yesterday I decided to skip a run and get a deep tissue massage. I did a two hour session and Heidi seemed to have an exact routine down to fit any amount of time. Great emphasis all around, even worked in stretches where she was able to get me into positions that I would not be able to get to on my own. I was surprised with the amount of force she was able to apply, which she says is mostly through just utilizing body weight and leverage. I haven't had many professional massages, but the times I have I have asked for deep tissue and Heidi's was an order of magnitude more intense than any other that I've had. I'm sure she would have eased up if I asked, but I didn't. She knew she was hitting tense spots and that I was trying to not show the level of excrutiation that I was in but she could tell. She just eased into going harder and telling me to relax and breathe like she was talking me into giving birth. And she worked the heck out of that front delt, I almost asked if she had a rope I could bite down on and she went right up to my limit right at the two hours were ending. Turns out my safe word is "OOHH F***", at which point she said "ok that's enough torture for today. Anyway, it's the morning after (Thursday after a Wednesday afternoon appointment) and I feel like she definitely opened up blood flow and this will help me recover. Taking a couple days off of upper body resistance training and excited to see how my next push day feels on Sunday. Super impressed with how professional and systematically she worked through all the spots and paid attention to the areas I highlighted on the intake form. I'm going to recommend her to everyone I know who lifts weights and lives or is passing through Houston. Was about a 15 minute Uber ride from our downtown office, so super convenient, especially since she happened to be free right away when I called her after my meeting ended early. That's all I have. If I remember maybe I'll update on a few days when I hit chest and shoulders to see how much this helped recovery, but at least it felt like I was doing something productive after feeling completely broken down from training, travel, work, and lack of sleep.
