the lady at the desk was very rude. We Decided to stop in when we were at new Hope pride. We saw a mug in the window and thought it would be OK to shop there. Upon entering you have to provide proof of vaccination, which goes against the law at asking proof of vaccination unless you serve food. She asked if my kids had a mask, and when I said no they can go outside she then ask if they were age enough to stand outside in the parking lot by themselves. Although she did not know that my wife was standing outside the door, it was not her place or her business to say anything away. Her smart comments and rude snarky tone was very unappreciated. They have a very cute selection and the store is adorable. However, the cell phone policy is a bit of overkill as you are not allowed to pull it out at all in the store. The lady was sweet in terms of conversation and she knows a great deal about her store but if you don't follow her rules she will get angry. A bit uptight for a store of this vibe but it's worth it if you're only stopping in for a little bit! read more

I went there this weekend and wanted to get her tub oils for my cold. When I walked in I saw them and they were labeled cold/flu as I grabbed a few I coughed and the old hippie owner lady asked me if I was sick... I replied yes but I'm on antibiotics and hopefully these will help me. She then told me to please leave her store ! I thought I heard her wrong and said excuse me to which she repeated herself and added I should come back when I am well!! Went in there with my wife and the lady kicked me out because I was texting someone. I think she doesn't want any phones out because she's selling old brownies. Walked up to the store cause I thought it was cute. Walked over to the stickers and started browsing. About a minute in this hippie working at the counter rudely told me that I messed the order of the stickers. I was polite and proceeded to put them back in the alphabetical order and then as I left she came at me and said "thanks a lot, all the stickers are upside down. Next time bring your parents!" I left and said sorry and tried not to cause a scene. My friends were waiting outside doing NOTHING WRONG, and she storms outside and says "are you the kids messing with the stickers" and I said "yes" and then she said "can you guys get away from my store" and we said "why" and she said "I don't want to hear you guys talk" I go back in a few minutes later with my parents to go back and talk to the lady. I find out she called the cops on us because she felt "unsafe." Honestly what a joke. Maybe one of the rudest ladies I've ever met, no wonder nobody comes to her store and there are so many negative reviews. The shopkeeper has a terrible attitude. I examined a little trinket box, but quickly found that it was poorly made because it was really hard to put the lid back on. I was in New Hope this past weekend with my family and my father stopped in to get a cigar. He bought the one he wanted and we sat outside of the store in some seats next to an ashtray the store provided and he began to smoke the cigar. We sat there and quietly chatted for a bit while he enjoyed his cigar and this old hippie woman pokes her head out of the door and says we had to leave. I explained he just purchased the cigar from her store and her response was she did not want to smell cigar smoke. I bit my tongue and we left. Mind you this store is also a hookah lounge according to a sign outside of the store and the ashtray was filled to the brim with cigarette butts so the thought of smoke bothering this woman was laughable. In all honesty she could have closed the door if the smell bothered her and kept a customer. read more

My friend and I walked into her store and I even complimented her store because I thought it was cute. She completely ignores me after making eye contact. My friend decides to try a spray bottle. One spray. Right away something in this is woman's head goes off and she rushes right towards us. She asked if it was a tester (it wasn't). Which I said "I'm so sorry, I didn't know." She said "I have signs posted every where!" Mind you this one sign she referred to was in tiny font, falling off the wall. I apologize to her but she didn't accept it. She even tried comparing her store to a Macy's with "Would you spray things at Macy's like that?". To be quite honest, yes? At the time I didn't have any money on me and when I told her that she responded with. "If you can't pay me for my merchandise, I'm going to have to call the police." Keep in mind. WE'RE STILL PRACTICLY CHILDREN. I eventually give up trying to negotiate with this rude woman and find my mother and ask her for the $12.99 I needed to pay for her small over priced bottle of bug repellent. Right when I handed her my money her attitude changed in .2 seconds and rung me up and gave me a coupon. I will never be going back. She was rude and it was completely uncalled for. New Hope Funky Stuff is the worst of the worst the shopping town of New Hope, PA has to offer. I can only guess that the five star ratings found on the Facebook page are posted by personal friends. From more than the so called 20 steps up a driveway not an alley, the strong masking order of patchouli hits you in the nostrils. It must be to cover the large amount of marijuana the owner and operator Jessica was smoking while pricing her low quality mass produced items. Rude and abrasive are nicest words I can find to describe Jessica's demeanor and behavior. She insisted on continually cutting me off while I was talking, told me I was flat out wrong on a subject I hold a PhD in, and then refused to answer the question I had posed in the first place. While in the shop a couple entered with a little girl appearing to be age 7 or so. Not more the 30 seconds after they entered blaring music erupted out of every nook of the very tiny space making my hearing aid ring. I had to yell to be heard when I asked the owner Jessica to turn down the music. She stalled in doing so until the couple with the child left. The little girl never once let go of her father's hand. Overpriced low quality items, and an owner who does not belong in any occupation dealing with the public; only thing good that can be said of the shop is that it is closed more often than it is open. read more

me and my five friends (all 18 all polite and respectful and genuinely looking for cool stuff to purchase) only three of which actually went in the store. my friend picked up some stickers she wanted to purchase and then decided against them because they weren't even really good stickers to begin with and then the crazy hippie bitch behind the counter yelled at my friend because she was gonna have to pay someone to put them back in alphabetical order. my friend then put them back where they were in alphabetical order and she proceeded to tell her "thanks a lot" that she had put them back all upside down and told us to get out of her store. we then sat outside with our friends who were waiting for us and we're telling them what happened when she asked us to leave (we were not even really near her store anymore) because she didn't want to hear our voices and told us to "come back with your parents next time" in reading all previous help reviews and dealing with this lady face to face i can genuinely say i would never go back and would NEVER recommend his place to anyone. what an awful experience altogether. read more
