This is a boat and a crew that offer an excellent level of service. They are organized and will take you to wonderful places, beautiful beaches for a pleasant and unforgettable tour. The boat is good, very well structured and organized. The only improvement points for us are: 1- the point where we did snorkel was very weak, had no fish and was not in fact a good place to snorkel. Any dive on one of St John's beaches offers a better snorkel that we did on the way back from BVI to USVI. 2- in this tour you spend a lot of time (almost 1 hour or more) having lunch and the ideal would be to leave the will to people who want to stay longer on the beach, just make a snack and not lunch (would be our case); the top of the barths restaurant is not bad, it is not a criticism of the restaurant but rather the schedule as you arrive at the beach, we only have 20 minutes to enjoy the place and already leave; see if you think we took 2 hours (or more on the boat) to get there (The Barths in Virgin Gorda); we would like to spent more time at the beach than restaurant 3- the landing at Just Van Dyke island really was a very negative experience; for the elderly and even children becomes an embarrassing situation, forcing people to dive and go swimming from vest (that floats) up to the beach; only that a lot of people (like me) took a camera that is not proof of Water, or cell phone even though most of them are not waterproof and had to swim with their arms up, about to lose the device, a situation that I never really saw since the boats all on the island were moored at the edge of the beach , without offering this discomfort and even risk to passengers with the possibility of losing their belongings people; this really frustrated me; if the boat can not get to the edge of the beach, the company needs to find a solution to that. I saw in Whitehaven beach in Australia a solution with an iron ladder that went to the edge of the beach, was motorized and people got on a huge boat (much bigger than the one used here on this tour), get off at the beach without risk and with the your belongings; another solution: to have a small boat to take people (boat or hire boat on the island), but you need a solution The tour staff is very professional, are kind and are available to help, but these are remarks so we were not met and for that reason for this avaliation. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this Sunset Cruise! It was the perfect balance of having "fun" and laughing with each other, the crew, and other guests on the excursion, and completely just chilling out and being amazed at the awesome sight of the sun setting on the beautiful, clear, aqua/blue/teal water, then watching the full moon rise over the water. It was incredibly beautiful and we can hardly wait to do it again! We enjoyed tasty, classy appetizers and delicious rum cocktails during the excursion. Beer and water were also available, and the friendly crew kept our drinks full at all times. I read a couple of reviews that were unfavorable about Captain Mike, which I don't understand at all! He and his crew were very capable, knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and informative without encroaching on our privacy at all. I can't imagine what Mike or the crew did to cause anyone to not enjoy this excursion but I can tell you without hesitation that our experience was wonderful and neither myself nor my husband have a single complaint whatsoever. This Sunset Cruise was a 5 star experience for my husband and I, and we have no reservations in recommending it for a laid back, classy, fun, happy, all around great excursion with incredibly beautiful views. We left feeling like we actually got more than we paid for or even expected, and that just doesn't happen very often! read more

Do this!!! This was the best excursion experience we have ever had. We had the best time! They served us breakfast which included muffins and fruit. They also served us a fantastic lunch- sandwiches, Caesar salad, shrimp and dessert. All the food was outstanding. Captain Jeff was so funny, accommodating and went out of his way to make our day amazing. He even decorated the food table with fresh flowers and palms. We stopped at three different places around St John. Our kids really loved the snorkeling. We saw lots of sea life including colorful fish and sea turtles. At one stop we could swim up the beach and walk around. The open bar was the best- Max kept our drinks full with whatever alcohol we asked for all day, he even passed around shots of rum and pitchers of painkillers. Capt Jeff and Max were so much fun and took care of everyone. They even stopped a few times for families to get photos. Our family of six had the absolute best day and it was a great time for all. Zero complaints and everything was excellent! I would suggest taking a water proof camera. read more

EXTREME WARNING! DO NOT GO ON THIS DAY TRIP TO THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS.YOU WILL BE SORRY OR END UP IN THE HOSPITAL.i went on this trip with my wife and her parents who are in there late seventies.they were not able to do alot of the activities aboard this boat.the problem started when we went to jost van dyke. this is a party beach where boats anchor right by the shore and you walk in waist deep water to get to the beach. breakaway cant get close to shore and make you swim in at least 50 yards to get to the beach. what they dont tell you and are well aware of the problem is the concrete blocks submerged under water near the shore.. my wife broke her foot on the concrete blocks under the water and could not get back to the boat on her own,one of the crew mr. jordan was annoyed that he had to help her to get back to the boat. besides his arrogance he was drinking and couldnt care less about my wife. he also assaulted her on board when filling out an incident report.dont make the mistake we did try any other company. read more

THE absolute best day of our vacation week in the Virgin Islands!!!! We've experienced charters before in different countries and this was exceptional. Captain Brad and the crew, David and Jennie, were fantastic as we traveled on Breakaway Charters to the British Virgin Islands....From THE moment we stepped on the dock at 7 am until the hugs at the dock at the end of the day, around 4 pm.....was amazing. This trip was so enjoyable that as soon as we got off, we made a reservation for another trip 3 days later. The crew was attentive and knowledgeable about the area and paid enough attention to take us to the beaches with the best snorkeling based on the weather and wave patterns. Stewart, our captain, was amazing, knowledgeable, and great to talk to! Our crew, Thomas and (don't remember the name of the 1st trip on 2/20) were both awesome, and the breakfast/lunch/painkillers and other drinks during the day were phenomenal. The fact that food was offered was what set this trip apart from other tours and made it very enjoyable when we didn't have to worry about stopping somewhere to eat. My husband and I went on a snorkel tour of St. John on the Breakaway Speedboat with Capt. Judi and her crew: newly-Capt. licensed, Hayden & first mate Sam, 2 days ago! Overall, the excursion was INCREDIBLE and well worth the value!! This was by far the best part of our trip to St. Thomas. Highly recommend to those wishing to explore the Caribbean waters, learn a little history of the islands, and discover some of the most incredible creatures! Ultimately the trip lasted from 9 am-3 pm and included: light breakfast (pastries & fresh fruit), full lunch (cold cuts for sandwiches, fresh fruit, shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, & dessert), light snack (fresh fruit), full bar service the duration of the trip, and 3 snorkel stops to St. John that were all secluded from other tourists or beachgoers. We booked two cruises, that's how much we liked this company. Leaving out of Margaritaville the party never stops. Great for couples, families and friend groups. The crew is fantastic and will make sure you have the best time! First we did the daytime snorkeling cruise on the snorkel cat which made two stops. One on a beach in St John where we saw sea turtles thanks to the crews expert directions on where to look. Then a second stop at another island where we saw some sleeping sharks which was so exciting and a ton of colorful fish and reefs. a light breakfast and lunch were included, which is exactly what we needed after a day of swimming and sun. We booked the boat tour to Virgin Gorda (The Baths), Diamond Reef (Snorkeling) and Jost Van Dyke (Soggy Dollar Bar). Captain Jolene and Spence were wonderful hosts and made the trip enjoyable. The beach at the Baths is out of this world! And the hiking tour of the Baths is really nice. The snorkeling at Diamond Reef fulfilled our expectations. We saw so many array of fish and marine life it was spectacular. There were jelly fish, trumpet fish, a sun fish, parrot fish and I even spotted a lemon shark. The shark was there and then gone so quick. He had no interest in us. The beach at Jost Van Dyke was something we wanted to spend more time at, but as happens time ran out and we had to leave. If we visit St Thomas or St John's again we will definitely book another trip with them. read more

We are staying in St John and saw a flier for Breakaway BVI day tour in our villa. Booked it right away and are very glad we did. What a great job Captain Dave and Kate did of keeping us entertained, informed and on track with a slightly packed agenda. The stops were fairly short at each location (the Baths at Virgin Gorda, snorkeling off Monkey Point on Guana, then drinks at the Soggy Dollar on Jost Van Dyke) but long enough to appreciate each location in the course of a day. Again, can't say enough about the crew who are navigating uncertain situations changing daily with the Coronavirus restrictions and customs stops. Staff was so friendly and very on top of whatever we needed. Was so attentive for our group and offering to help with anything. Took us to 3 amazing spots and saw so many beautiful fish, eel, sharks, octopus. Was an amazing experience for our group of 8. Great experience for all ages. Ours age ranged from 46 all the way to 10 years old. But everyone had so much fun and met some very nice people on the tour. A must do experience and would do it again for sure. Sailed on Snorkel Cat for both the snorkel cruise and the sunset cruise. Captain Tuna was our captain for both trips and he was awesome! He was very knowledgeable about where to take us for snorkeling, and we saw a bunch! Turtles, stingrays, fish, coral all seen in that beautiful clear water! Crew for the snorkel trip were Dawn and Kennedy, they were equally amazing at keeping the drinks flowing and the energy up! The sunset cruise was absolutely gorgeous, Captain Tuna knew exactly where to go for the best view! Crew on that cruise were Noelle and Brian, who took care of the guests with excellent service throughout. Book either one (or both!) and you will not be disappointed! read more

We loved our experiences on the Snorkel Cat! We did the snorkeling sail one day which included two snorkel stops, lunch, and unlimited drinks. They did offer non alcoholic options which was great! We saw lots of colorful fish, a sting ray, coral, and jellyfish. We did see a turtle too but from the boat. The staff (Dehayden and Carson) were so helpful, nice, and fun, and captain Luke was also very nice and fun. We did the sunset cruise with them another night which was also great, very relaxing views but also fun music/lights after dark. We went with captain Luke and Carson again and also Dawn who was super fun. I'd recommend this to anyone! read more

My family had an amazing time on the charter boat! There were 11 of us, ranging in age from 8 to 74, and everyone had a wonderful experience. The crew was outstanding. They came around to each guest personally, offering food and drinks throughout the trip. No one ever had to get up or go looking for anything--they made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish. We were able to sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery and breathtaking sunset. The entire experience was smooth, comfortable, and memorable for our whole family.
