This gets 5 stars for so many reasons: - it's the only place in Stockholm that I know of that has dosas, - extremely friendly, attentive service - a rarity in Stockholm! - amazing food - lovely ambiance - feels appropriate for a special occasion. I went with Indian friends from Bangalore and Chennai, and they were both happily impressed with the food, as were all the Swedes in our group. The staff is super diverse - an owner from Bangladesh (I think?), chef from Chennai, and our waiter was from Afghanistan. This means that they can offer a pretty big variety of dishes and still get all of them right! We were quite happy with their dosas, biryani, and jalfrezi. Came to Indian Garden on a date, and I'm glad he chose this spot because it's actually quite appropriate for a meeting like this. Candle lights and lamps make the perfect intimate atmosphere. The restaurant was pretty full so I'm glad we had a reservation. Menus are in Swedish and English, which helps if your Swedish is as good as mine. I ordered a chicken with a peanuts and coconut milk cream that was mild. We also got one garlic naan to share. Food came in very fast, probably less than 10 minutes and it was accompanied by a little salad and rice. Taste was delicious, and not very strong to eat. Despite the fact they have several servers they were a little confusing and I had to ask to three times to get my water glass refilled. Prices are a little bit more expensive than what I would like to pay, but nothing terrible for this particular place, my dish was around 230 SEK. read more

Super good Indian food. Good service, good atmosphere! I can simply say that I highly recommend this place. Do reserve, as it is very popular! Our waiter was both funny, smart and nice. We were 10 people in our group, and the orders were taken swiftly and delivered correctly. No problems whatsoever. Perhaps their only problem is that they have just too many options in the menu. But our waiter was kind enough to point out which dishes he thought were extra good. They had no less than five different types of bread. I tried the coconut/raisin bread, which was of course sweet, but worked very well with a spicy dish. Fairly decent prices too. read more

This restaurant is THE BEST Indian restaurant I have ever eaten ! The food is really amazing, delicate and tasty, they actually serve you too much but it's so good you don't want to waste one single grain of rice. I also had a cocktail with Coriander, that was so fresh ! If you go in the evening I would definitely recommand the tandoori shrimps, that come on a warm pan, with the delicious sauce on the side, and a bowl of rice. Oh, and have that coriander cocktail. Do it for me ... For lunch it's much cheaper, and the food is as good. The ckicken sizlar in particular, you can just put your knife in it and it will feel like butter. The place is also very cozy, even when there are many people, because there is no music, so you can actually talk to the person you are having dinner with. Let me start by saying: I actually came here about a year ago. But the customer service I received was SO horrible, that I had to come back to speak my mind. Perhaps things have changed. But if they haven't, then I hope management sees this to ensure a shift in behaviour. I just looked up their menu to try and recall what I had eaten that day. But sadly, all they have are lunch specials now there. I had a naan, and a thick, chicken curry (pricier than the majority of their offerings) that came in a sizzling, hot iron pot. And I must say. It was an absolutely great experience. Loved it. Cannot say the same about the staff. I came alone, planning on just having some alone time exploring the city. (I was working an internship in Stockholm for three months.) I sat at a table alone, and took out my phone. Because I was planning on doing a bit of work while slowly eating, which I think I'm entitled to. Then, my waiter came by. He was friendly. But then he made a joke about how if I'm eating here, I ought to put away my phone. I just laughed and said I had some work to do. Then, my food came out. I was slowly eating, enjoying it, while going through my week's work on my screen. The waiter came by again. He again said. No no no. Put away your phone. Enjoy your food. This time, a bit more firmly. As if he hadn't heard before that I had planned on doing some work while eating. And he even wagged his finger at me, as if admonishing a child. I was surprised. Somehow in the moment, I was so stunned at his behaviour, I meekly put away my phone, which I shouldn't have. He victoriously smiled and sailed away. Would he have acted like this if I were a man? Would he have acted like this if I were in company? Would he have acted so condescendingly, even wagging a finger at any other guests?! This sort of customer service crossed FAR too many boundaries. Absolutely disgusting. ABSOLUTELY patronising. This isn't a Michelin star restaurant, where some delicacy and specific on the visitor's part should be strictly observed. Train your staff better, Indian Garden. If I ever come to Stockholm again, I will never EVER set foot in this location. read more

We booked a table for nine people and when we arrived we were seated at a table for 8 people. So instead of moving us they crammed us in together and added another placing. Our waiter perhaps had little training because when we ordered we had to go around the table and say what drinks we wanted in order of who wanted alcoholic drinks first and then who wanted soft drinks after that. We got in trouble if we mixed up and ordered the wrong way. The staff were all over the place! The management really needs to train them how to be waiters because the guy we had really had no clue. The food is okay, not amazing or worth the hype Stockholmers seems to give this place. To say something positive the, vegetable thali was delisouse. Meat dishes ware however dry and tasteless, I would have expected much higher quality for the price. Lamb might as well have been a tough cut of biff. Deserts ware to expensive for the portion size. We ware seated I a cramp hallway, with stuff constantly running behind us and stressing us out. Maybe we got them on a bad night, maybe we just had a poor waiter or maybe it's because I travel to Indian regularly and come from the North of England......... But this is an average place and we experienced terrible service .... The 1st waiter was on the edge of rudeness, would not make a recommendation and demanded we order by the number next to the dish name; like in a cheap takeaway or a reverse bingo hall. Then we waited 50 minutes for the main dish while having stale popadoms at 20 SEK a pop.... The main dishes were ok, chicken mango Balti and an over spiced chicken Karai..... Nan's were acceptable but only that.... It gets great reviews which means one of two things ,,,, 1. We got them on a bad night 2. despite all my friends having a lovely meal, I unfortunately got food poisoning after eating my veg Biryani. The atmosphere was fine, the waiters a little confused about who ordered what meals at times, was a nice evening with friends, just unfortunate about my meal. I wont be eating there again. read more
