Many were welcoming and inspiring. But when we landed at St. John's, we found a strong welcoming spirit and commitment to helping others. We were approached and welcomed warmly but not intrusively. We are continually impressed with the amount and depth of this congregation's commitment to social justice and to actively helping their neighbors and each other. We were not the only new comers to St. John's. Other couples and families have recently joined this strong congregation. On a weekly basis we find the words of our Pastor Beth Taylor and associate Scott Steiner helpful as we go out to live our lives in the real world, We highly recommend St. John's as a community for those new to the area and those looking for a congregation of interesting, inspiring, and committed neighbors and friends.

We were welcomed by a guy in…read morethe parking lot who asked is where we were from and told us a little about the men's group. It he asked us questions about us and really seemed to care! He held the door open for us to go in and immediately we were greeted by the Pastor. He is so amazing! He asked about us and what we were doing on our road trip. We connected and shared stories for 5-10 minutes, we felt very welcomed at this point. We went into the church and got greeted and welcomed by 10 more members. It's so cool to go into a church where the members are so involved at actually care about their church. The Pastor's wife came to say hi to us as well. She is such a sweet heart! Seek her out! It was cool to talk to her about our experience and theirs through travel. Whenever you enter a church your greeted and feel loved because your with your "Church family" , but this was different. We have never been here before and EVERYONE was so nice and welcoming. I've never experienced this before. Their hospitality was unbelievable. After Church we chatted for a few more minutes with members. I think we met everyone at the Church! I love how it's a small intimate group. The band and singer was amazing!! The woman who sings has some pipes on her! She rocked it! I'm so glad we found this Church! The pastor preached an amazing message as well. If we find ourselves back in Detroit we will be back! From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew this church was different. Their mission isn't…read morejust something they say it's something they truly live every day: making families whole, training them in the Word of God, teaching an uncommon faith, and changing our community. When we first came, we didn't just have to get to know a new church...we had to confront our own hearts before God. We came in carrying brokenness, doubts, uncertainty, insecurities and past hurts. At first, it was easy to question everything and even place some of those feelings on the church. But over time, we realized the church wasn't the problem...we were! God was gently revealing the areas in our own lives that needed healing. We had to let down our walls and allow Him to work in us. The truth is, we simply weren't used to a love that was so genuine, so deep and so real. As we surrendered those fears and trusted God, everything began to change. Through the faithful teaching of God's Word, the love and support of this church family and the presence of God, our family has been transformed by God! One of the greatest blessings has been watching our children change. Their attitudes, behavior and hearts have grown in such beautiful ways. They are becoming more kind, respectful, obedient and rooted in God's Word. Seeing them build a genuine relationship with Jesus has brought so much peace and joy into our home. What I appreciate most is that this church doesn't pretend life becomes perfect once you start attending. Struggles still come. Hard seasons still happen. We still face challenges. I know I still have struggles!! But instead of judgment, criticism or shame, we've experienced something completely different. We've been pulled in closer, surrounded by people who say, "We're going to get through this together. We love you." Pastor's that love and want to see you live out what God says in His word! To love Jesus with all that we are! That kind of Christ centered love is rare, and it's exactly what has helped our family continue to grow through every season. This church doesn't just preach about transformation ...it lives it. Our marriage is stronger, our family is closer and our faith is deeper than ever before. We have experienced healing, restoration and a community that genuinely loves people the way Jesus does. If you're looking for a church where the Bible is taught faithfully, where families are made whole, faith is strengthened, and lives are truly changed, we can't recommend this church enough. We are forever grateful for what God has done in our family, and we're excited to see how He continues to use this church to impact so many others.

My Grandson was having a Grad party at a New Baltimore park,this church was having a huge outing…read morethere as well, checking out their function, the people seemed very nice,friendly, I as well as my son, decided we would visit the church this Sunday (July 26,26) we went, got there before 11. Nobody NO....BOD...Y even welcomed us, we stood there like 2 ducks in the mud. We walked over to their "welcome booth" the to chatty woman seemed annoyed we interrupted them,My son asked a question, they were just rude, then my son said," we never been here, this is our first time" Then it was o hi! ((Fake,fake,fake)) Then the one lady said oh let me get someone to help .... o...Kay? Another lady comes only addressing my son.... asking if I was his wife! I said no I'm his mom. All she said was O. Then another lady pushed over an iPad wanting me to fill it out. I pushed it over to my son ,said he can fill it out, we both thought the same thing... (why, I don't even know if I like this enough to give you my info) We were directed to where the coffee section was, see we had 20 min yet before 11.oo Before the service started.... My son pours him a cup of coffee well... started and a man come by him saying several times .." NO JUDGEMENT HERE" then says to my son "most people use the pump to get coffee not the caraf" As that was happening... I had walked over to the other side of the room because I seen " croissants" I thought that looked much better then their dry cut up donuts, so I was steps ...away from that counter.. a woman kept saying " MAM,MAM,MAM," I SLOWLY turned and said are you talking to me? She snapped said "yes! That over there is for staff only" " the rest of the church has the donuts and coffee over there" ... I just went back to my son where he was at. We shared our stories! I said I don't like this, they are very unfriendly! And rude,back in my day, there were people assigned to " welcome booths " He felt the same way he said he felt very!! Uncomfortable! My son is 43 yrs old! He hadn't been to church like a very long time!! Thought maybe his wife would like it ,whom was working, I myself was looking for a church .I strongly felt!!! As he, that the "hoop la" at the park that day was all an act 100%!!! We left immediately!! I would not recommend this place to ANYONE!! Who is surching for a church, I am a devout Christian,it was not my first Rodeo or my son's! I just hope we can find a good non-denominational church that is truly warm! And friendly . I'll add pics later to this . It's right by Walmart & marketplace Blvd. O and get this!!!! A patrol car was going around the parking lot several times,we noticed that when we were leaving. WHAT THE???
