He also told parents, from the pulpit, that if they catch their boys playing with their sisters dolls, they should teach them to burn the dolls. This is not the first violent message from Pastor Tracy that I have heard. I once heard him rejoice when 300 Muslims were killed in a tragic accident in Mecca in 2013. I heard him brag that he would like to run over protesters with his car. When I was a member as a teen, I heard him joke about hitting his wife, and encourage his children to bash other children's heads in with bricks from the pulpit. I was sad and horrified to learn that he has not changed his violent messaging. If you are the kind of Christian who wants to see anyone you disagree with (including children) beaten and killed, I guess EMBC is the church for you. If you are the kind of Christian who wants to follow Jesus and love your neighbor as yourself, try elsewhere.

Nearly a decade was spent trying to find a church for my family. It all stated after my son was born. My boyfriend and I at the time tried to get him baptized. Not even our own church would baptize him because we weren't married. The churches where our parent forked our thousands of dollars to have us go through all the catholic rituals. We sought out several other churches, all which too, turned us away. I was heartbroken, hurt, disappointed and even angry. Aren't we all just Christians trying to make this world a better place?? Then in the spring of 2016 I started to see all the local info about Vacation Bible Schools around our community. My kids have always loved all the VBS they have done. I loved that the Christian world was in their heart. We weren't weekly church goers. Although God was always in our hearts, my husband and I didn't talk much about the Bible much in our home. Until Lakepointe, we hadn't even attended church service for a Christmas or Easter in the last 8 years. Lakepointe is currently a mobile church which means we set up and tear down every Sunday to have our service. We currently have our service at Lutheran High North, located at the North West corner of 24 Mile and Romeo Plank. Our service is every Sunday at 10:30 am and EVERYONE is welcome to come! When I was first introduced to Lakepointe Church I met Pastor Scott at the office (on Van Dyke, south of 21 Mile Road) to learn more about the church. What started as "meet and greet", turned into a confession of feeling lost, alone and confused. I had been on a long search for a church that my family could feel welcome at, a place that we would love to attend and eagerly want to visit. A place where we could just be us, and not feel judged. By the end of our over 2 hours talk I knew this was our church! I instantly felt like I belonged. I laughed, I cried, I confessed that I felt lost and wanted more for me and my family. Pastor Scott just sat and listened with compassion and patience. The peace I felt talking to him made me realize that my search for a church was over. I knew this place was where me and my family belonged. We just had our 2 year anniversary with Lakepointe this summer and I feel so thankful that God lead us to Our Church. Not only do my husband and I enjoy all that Lakepointe has to offer, but our 5 kids are so eager and excited every week to attend. I simply can't say enough good things about what this church has to offer. Not only do we just attend church, but myself and whole family have become involved in so many ways. Not just in our church but in our community. I'm the head of our food pantry that provides for the community and anyone in need. We've provided meals and clothing for sex traffickers, set up "Mom tents" at local festivals and events so mother's could nurse and change their children. We've volunteered at the Tara Grant 5K yearly, and do a dozen of other FREE community events like "Trunk-or-Treat" and "Movie Night" throughout the year. We currently are a mobile church, which means we don't actually have a church building, but that doesn't take away from the awesome services our Pastor Scott gives every Sunday! And our worship group- WOW! I can't tell you how many times our singers and band members have moved me to tears! They are amazing!! If you're looking for somewhere to belong, looking for a Christian based community, that's void of all the "stand-sit-kneel-pray"*repeat*, looking for a fun, laid back, relatable services then please do yourself a favor and come check out Lakepointe and learn more. Church is not my favorite place on the planet. It's not like I'm against religion, but I'm not a…read morehuge fan of "organized religion". I'm an escaped Catholic who's gone back to being a "C&E Catholic" (Christmas and Easter appearances only) due to family obligations and commitments. Maybe the random baptism, confirmation, etc., ...but it's certainly not a regular thing for me by any stretch of the imagination. Now, the only reason that I'm telling you that is to put the four stars in context. For me to give a Catholic Church four stars...well, that pretty much takes an act of god to pull off...pardon the pun. The sermons are mellow, not the "fire and brimstone" kind. The people are, for the most part, friendly. Parking is easily found. It's a nice building. The entryway is really well done and artistic. Nothing I've ever attended there has ever lasted more than an hour. If you're feeling the need to dip your toe in the waters of religion (again, pardon the pun), then this might be a good option for you.

Not only was I baptized here when I was a baby but I have fond memories of coming here during Lent Christmas Easter and other holidays with my parents growing up. I also attended their catechism here which top mold me into the person I am today. It was held every Wednesday and still has helped to this day. If you're looking for a home Church this is one surely not to pass out. There is a younger priests here now and a lot of the original followers as well. This church does so much for the community I can't even begin to start to say the extent of the kindness they radiate. They help people who don't have enough money during Thanksgiving holidays and donate Thanksgiving dinner. If people cannot afford clothing St Vincent de Paul comes in and you are greeted by a very sweet lady who will come talk with you and make sure your children are properly closed for the winter season. And at Christmas time they go above and beyond to make sure every child has something small to open on Christmas. They remodeled this church about 15 years ago and the warship Sanctuary is beautiful. There's also a place where you can go and light a candle for a loved one or someone who's dearly Departed. Unlike these modern Christian churches this one is an original one of those Originals where it is so good there is no need to change anything. I will continue to come here and I will continue to bring my children here because I know if they're here they're getting the word of God properly. This Catholic Church is my litmus for all Catholic Churches I ever go to, anywhere in the world…read moretoo. Many churches can be, cavernous, awe inspiring, but there's no other church that's ever given me a feeling of calm, warmth and community than this church. I grew up in this church, went to catechism, had my baptism here, communion, confirmation here and was married here as well. Participated in many joint oyster fests with Tom's Oyster bar too. The priest that I first met is still there today, along with the deacon. Father Tim Pelis the coolest priest I have ever met, he's very much about the times and transcends generation and is loved by the congregation from 0-100+. Father Tim was the cool priest that would use a plastic toy gun to shot holy water at his parishioners at a drive-thru during Covid. They have a FB page for followers to get updates on activities with the church. It's a really integrated community church. I have never felt so much a part of church as this one, it's my favorite Catholic Church I have ever set foot in. They are offering Lenten carry out meals this month until April 2nd. They offer video streamed masses online. Archives of the bulletin are available online as well. They also offer great space at the Ark for whatever wedding, party venues too.
