A great selection of great easy going food

I completely adore this place!!!!!! I can't believe this is my first review for New London. Today I had my my usual lunch meal. A chicken burger with chips. Massive burger and good quality chips. All for the great price of £6.45! I don't think you can find as great value in Angel, Islington for such fabulous quality. The interior is a bit like a chilled out lounge room. Non-matching tables and chairs, quirky little photos of "I don't know what of" and random little trinkets. It makes if for a famously little hideout . The staff are also wonderful friendly and warm. They take pride in their service and always have an eye for what to look out for to ensure you're completely satisfied. They magically do all of this from a distant without being in your face and having to ask "is everything okay?"...which I personally dislike.

Full English breakfast, fresh OJ, and a double espresso = heaven

Not only do I love the atmosphere of this quaint café, I also like the staff - they are warm, friendly, and attentive. They serve breakfast all day, as well as other dishes - I'd recommend the Oh La La - two large pieces of hot French toast covered in maple syrup and two slabs of bacon (bacon in optional); for me, it's the perfect blend of savoury and sweet. Their full English breakfast is also very tasty. Excellent coffee too, which they serve with these tiny cookies that have warm chocolate on the inside. Omg they are so heavenly that I actually made them sell me a bag once. Simply put, a lovely place with lovely food and lovely people.

Totally English breakfast, with ham and eggs, beans, toast, portobello mushroom, tomatoes, and sausage. For one pound extra, a cup of coffee

Had my first breakfast here after landing in London for the first time. Quiet and peaceful morning, with great prices for delicious food. Coffee comes with a sweet cookie, and includes gluten-free option and other food accommodation. Will try to come back again!

Love the decoration and attention to detail.

My favourite is their vegetarian Spanish Omlette take-away lunch. They warm it up for you and add a fresh side salad. Really fresh, not from a plastic bag. I love the atmosphere and that they always have up to date flyers lying around to pass the time while waiting. I am quite particular with lunch boxes and theirs is great - clear plastic, nothing leaks and can be re-used.

Yummy mocha in a super cute place! Not even feeling awkward at all having it on my own. Awesome :)

It's a super cute and quiet place and their mocha is super nice and the price reasonable. I definitely will be coming back!

Simply look for The Pie Shop sign and pick your pie which is served with silky smooth mashed potatoes and lashings of rich gravy. Every time I eat a pie this place is my benchmark for the best pies ever! The  menu at Battersea Pie Station includes classics like steak and stout, minced beef and onion and chicken and mushroom, plus more creative, veggie options including butternut squash and goat's cheese. The steak and stout is my ultimate favorite! This place is my go to pie place every time I'm in London. I always try to stay in Covent Garden just so I can come here. This is my basis of the perfect meat pie with the pleasingly firm crusts and sides of mash and roasted potatoes are so delicious. The rich red-wine gravy comes separately in a small jug. I smother the pie with the gravy. Ingredient quality was excellent. They have mini pies and the regular sized pies. Even for a counter-service place this little cafe is terrific value - and you will be surprised that for Covent Garden you can eat a reasonably priced and uber delicious meal that makes me full the whole day! 5 stars can't wait to come back!

Minced Beef & Onion: The most popular, apparently. Smooth and moist inside with a buttery flaky outside. Steak & Stout: Same great crust, but with a very distinctive inside, chunks of firm roast and thick gravy where you could actually taste the stout. Probably my favorite pie here. Chicken & Mushroom: A nice variation from beef, but by no means lesser. With it's large chunks and umami gravy, this was like a quick hit fix for when craving a proper chicken pot pie. Mash & Gravy: The mash was smooth and buttery. The gravy was more than plentiful. Kinda lives under the shadow of the delicious pies though. Sticky Toffee Pudding: Good, but not great. The toffee sauce felt a bit too thick and wasn't as warmed as I like it. The sponge cake was alright, but kinda dry, like they just plopped into the toffee sauce puddle. But it did do a good job of soaking up the sauce with a little spoon dexterity.
