I usually go to my trusted lady in NYC, but being in the Newark area visiting my siblings, I thought I'd give this Brazilian salon a try since I was desperate for a quick treatment. Little did I know, it would turn into a nightmare. From the beginning, I should have realized something was wrong when Pam didn't bother cleaning the area before applying the wax directly to my skin. It felt strange and too hot, but I didn't say anything, assuming she knew what she was doing. I paid, left, and thought that was it. The next day, my armpit started burning intensely, and I couldn't even put my arm down. It turned extremely red and painful. I thought it might be an allergic reaction, so I applied allergy cream and hoped it would get better. Instead, it got worse with each passing day. When I finally managed to get in touch with them and informed them about my horrible experience, they were apologetic and suggested I traveled to Newark and pick up from them another cream. However, being in NYC while they were in NJ made it challenging for me to visit them again. I sent them pictures of my injured armpit, and they assured me it wouldn't scar and offered to reimburse me if I chose to buy the cream myself around the area to use it. Despite applying the cream they suggested, there was no real improvement. I decided to seek help from someone I trusted, and they confirmed that my underarm was indeed burned due to the salon's lack of experience and complete disregard for proper procedures. Frustrated, I reached out to the salon, requesting at least a reimbursement for the waxing service, but they ignored my request. I persisted in contacting them, but they left me on read. Finally, the receptionist (not the owner) called to apologize and offer me my money back. This establishment's behavior is deplorable, showing a clear lack of respect for their customers. They view people as mere sources of income, not as individuals with feelings and concerns. I strongly advise staying away from this place. Even now, two weeks later, I am still dealing with the painful consequences of my burned underarm. It hurts, prevents me from working out due to sweating, and I can't wear sleeveless tops because it looks terrible. This has significantly impacted my enjoyment of the summer and the sun. Take this as a warning - avoid this salon at all costs. They are not worthy of your trust or your patronage.

I specifically booked a Botox treatment with Zoila, the owner of the salon, since her name was listed among other stylists in the booking app. However, when I arrived, although she greeted me and explained the different treatments, she did not actually perform the service. Instead, someone else with less experience handled it, and I could tell because they kept asking Zoila questions during the process. For the price of $447, I expected the service to be done by the professional I booked with, especially the salon owner. The final disappointment came with the haircut -- I requested a butterfly cut, which Zoila herself did, and unfortunately the results speak for themselves (see attached photos for transparency). Overall, I left feeling let down and frustrated. When you pay a premium price, you should receive the experience and expertise you booked for.

I recently went to this place out of curiosity and the fact that it was such a cute little establishment. I talked to their representative (Mommé was her name), she was very respectful and had a lot of knowledge about the hair and the quality. I asked her if they had any bundle package deals (usually people who sell weave do) and she let me know that they in fact did not have any deals going on at that time. However, she did inform me of special they were having on their Indian Hair. She allowed me to touch the hair and the quality was amazing. I then told her to take my information down and that I would be back on Friday. She quoted me a price and wrote it down and kept it by the desk for any employee who may be here when I came back to see. I made Another appearance at their establishment two days later to ensure that Mommé did not forget me, a man was in the store this time . I inquired on Mommé's whereabouts and he then informed me that she had in fact stepped out and would not be back that day . However, the paper that she did write with my information was still at the counter. I informed the man that the person on the paper was in fact me and I would be back on Friday. Now when I asked Mommé what time they opened she told me 10am . I returned on Friday at around 12:15pm, no one was there. The Gate was open, the door was locked and no one was inside. I waited approximately 1hour before called to inquire about the sale I was going to make . He then told me that Mommé did not work there any more and they where NOT going to honor the price she had wrote down on the paper, they were NOT going to call her and verify how she acquired the price , and on top of that I ordered a lace closure and he then informed me that they don't sell those and they never have . (Oh and while we were on the phone people were in the background yelling and playing around; during a business day though?!) I then asked him if he could call the owner and verify this information he told me that she does not take calls during the daytime ( seriously?! And she's the owner of an establishment?) I then told him he should be ashamed of himself especially working at this establishment with such horrible customer service, lack of knowledge and hostility. Im so happy with my purchase!! It colored very well. Thanks to The weave Bar hair is not all over my house and in my bathroom sink... The quality was worth the price. I would be sending the whole Newark Police Department,My family and friends.
