Oh man, would definitely recommend going somewhere else. There is an Asian lady here with long hair on a ponytail, not too old but not young either, who is super weird and rude to customers. It is funny but not funny, she acts like a bully :-/, she gives customers dirty look, and screams at them. Who is she? Must be the owner to act that way and get away with it. Used to be a quick fun stop to get some Chinese food for dinner. The portion got so much smaller, while price much higher - and on top of that, the service comes with a bad attitude. Nice little place for some good Chinese food. We decided to try somewhere new and im glad we did. First off this salt n pepper wings were one of the best ive had. So much flavor you could taste the red pepper and salt! The mandarin noodles were okay not the best but ok. I felt like they added way to much cabbage kind of over powering the noodle. I dont know about you but when I go to eat Chinese food these wonton are a must especially with the sweet and sour sauce. Lastly the honey walnut shrimp was so crispy and sweet. This place was pretty good it had a slight lemon taste I could have done with out. I think I got more full off those wonton chips. Mandarin Canton is down the road on Telegraph Blvd. In the a shopping plaza parking can get busy But lots of parking I always call in a order and by the time arrive it's ready so busy at times, but I like Salt and pepper chicken wings and vegetable noddles are my favorite here. Salt and pepper wings are the best here! The kung Pao chicken is awesome. We just order regular. The war wongton soup is great as is the egg drop soup. Prices have gotten pricey and service is ok. I go for the food and usually pick up Anyway so don't worry about their service or tipping. read more

Went here yesterday and as soon as we walked in we got dirty looks. The lady taking our order was so rude, no one friendly in the building. When we got to the car with the food i noticed my soup was missing and when i go back in the lady tells me i ordered wonton chips, not sure how soup and chips sound the same but whatever. We got to work started eating the beef & broccoli and there was absolutely no flavor. The beef was so plain and the fried rice was so greasy, it wasn't enjoyable. I've ordered here regularly over the years but after 2020 the prices are much too expensive to keep in the normal take out list. The food is great! The salt and pepper chicken wings are definitely contenders in my places to go for the wings. The service is good but that's from someone who orders take out all the time. I think I ate there once. A little hole in the wall Chinese spot & a hidden gem in Chula Vista located in the Telegraph plaza. Been coming here for years & food is always fresh & good no complaints here on food or food portions, portions are good. Inside is small, if lucky get a table or just or order to go. Service is ok, speed & accuracy is good & friendliness is ok, not rude but could be a bit friendlier but they are Chinese so you know ehhh. Prices are reasonable on most items. Their food is very flavorful especially their House Noodles, best House Noodles I've ever had & their Beef & Broccoli & Mongolian Beef is also one of the best I've had no lie. Salt & Pepper wings are amazing here, love their seasoning on it & very meaty they're a must when you come here. And don't forget to get an Egg Drop soup when you're here, it's on point. Been eating here forever. A change in ownership did not negatively affect food. Love the food. PROBLEM they used to be open until 9:00 pm but if you called after 8:30 they would tell you to hurry because they were closing. It seemed like 9 was when they walked out the door after doing all the cleanup starting at 8:30. OK no problem but most Americans think of.closing time as the time service stops NOT when they go home. So I thought they should close at 8:30 if they want to be out the door by 9:00. Last pickup noticed they changed closing to 8:30. Good for them. Until I called at 8:00 to place an order and the girl tried to talk me out.of it. She said I was too far away and I would mess up them trying to close. First of all I live 5 blocks from them and can go door to door in under 5 minutes. Second they WERE DOING THE EXACT SAME THING AS THEY DID before changing the closing time to earlier. I don't know if it is a simple cultural misunderstanding or what but calling during business hours and they try to talk me out of it and changing your closing time and still doing the same random behavior of closing before the actual closing time even after changing closing time. We have spent many thousands of dollars there and should expect at least some basic common courtesy. Makes me NOT eager to call them in the future. I wish them the best as always. read more

I've been eating here since I was about 11 years old, so for a couple of decades at this point. There's a reason I've been eating here so long. The inside of the restaurant is always clean and the staff is always quick to pick anything up or clean any messes. They're courteous and the food always comes out fast. Last night we ordered the pork fried rice and the Kung pao beef. Their fried rice, just like their House Soft Noodles, are deliciously smoky and perfectly fried. However they cook it gives it such a depth of flavor. The little bits of the pork are little flavor bombs. The Kung pao has that nice depth of flavor as well. Their salt and pepper wings are near perfection. Basically everything I've had here is delicious. As far as getting Chinese food in Chula Vista goes, this is the spot. read more

Tried a new place to get salt/pepper wings. The family unanimously enjoyed these compared to the other place we usually go to. The wings were more meaty and flavorful. Went in to order a to go and no friendly greetings. Lady in a pink mask straight up asks me "what's your phone # for pick up?" and I tell her I'm here to order a to go. She then asks me what I'd like to order in the most rudest way with crappy tone of voice and I tell her this (1 food order )... then she straight up looks at me and asks me "that's it?" as if I'm supposed to order more then one? like it's a must thing to do? I always call midday to place my NYE pick up.Lasy year was a madhouse this year worse.i placed oder for pick up at 5. I walked away at 6:30 as they couldn't find my order to be completed by my pick up. 1 long line, people waiting phone ringing resturant not answering Uber orders lost or not completed. Staff were busy bees but no organization. People were frustrated but we all patiently waiting. I get home order is wrong and cold. 5 minute drive. Wings dry and over cooked. Wrong cold noodles. No fortune cookies no sauces. Did I mention order completed at 630 but had 5pm pick up. I wrote a review way back in 2010 and I am still coming to Mandarin Canton for my Chinese food and now with my wife and she loves this place! Obviously there are many Chinese food restaurants here in Chula Vista/San Diego, but for consistently delicious food and for a reasonable price I don't think you'll find a better place. In all the years coming I don't think I've ever had a bad dish. Not only is the food tasty and reasonably priced, they serve good size potions. I have to recommend trying their salt & pepper chicken wings. Yes other Chinese restaurants have them, but not quite as tasty!!! Along with the wings they have shrimp, squid, and pork chops. As I mentioned before this is a no frills restaurant, but the food is delicious, friendly service and reasonable prices! I highly recommend coming here for your Chinese food!!! read more

I'm from St. Louis Mo where I think we have the best Americanized Chinese Food anywhere so I know I'm not going to get that experience but I wanted to come close in flavor and service and got neither. I asked for special fried rice with no pork. Typically it should come sigh 4 meats. Shrimp, Chicken, beef and pork. Theirs does not come with beef. When I asked to replace the pork with beef they wanted to charge me $3 more even though I didn't want the pork so I just got the chicken and shrimp which is no longer special fried but they charged me the special fried rice price. Go figure. 3 shrimp and 3 pieces of chicken. A lot of rice. Not at all worth $19.04. Anyway, when my order was handed to me it was already in a bag. I asked if red pepper, soy sauce and sweet and sour sauce was in the bag I was told YES. I got to my AirBNB and there were only napkins not even a fork . It smelled like the gates of heaven opened, and all the angels were cooking Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings, Beef and Broccoli, Kung Pao Chicken, and War Wonton Soup. Every bite? A flashback to my childhood, like I unlocked some hidden memories. I'm not even kidding when I say, for the first time in my life, I understood what true happiness felt like.
