I'm always on the hunt for great salt and pepper chicken wings since so many restaurants offer them, and I'm so glad I decided to give iWok another try. They have officially earned my top spot in the Eastlake/Otay Ranch area for salt and pepper wings. The seasoning was outstanding, but the real star of the dish was the crispy garlic and crunchy topping. It added so much flavor and texture that I couldn't stop eating it. The shrimp were perfectly fried--crispy on the outside while still juicy and tender inside, never overcooked. The chicken wings were extra crispy with incredible flavor in every bite. I also ordered the fried rice, which was delicious and paired perfectly with everything else. This order was delivered through DoorDash, and I was genuinely impressed. The food arrived piping hot, fresh, and well-packaged, tasting like it had just come out of the kitchen. That's not always the case with delivery, so it definitely stood out. If the food is this good by delivery, I can't wait to dine in and experience it fresh from the restaurant. iWok has definitely become one of my go-to spots, and I'll absolutely be ordering again. read more

First time trying iWok in Chula Vista and overall it was a great experience! We ordered the salt & pepper wings, salt & pepper shrimp, orange chicken, fried rice, and cheese wontons. The salt & pepper shrimp was the star for me -- light, airy, crispy, and not greasy at all. The wings had great flavor and a nice crunch, though they were a little heavy on the salt. The orange chicken was good, but it didn't completely wow me. The fried rice paired really well with everything on the plate, though I probably wouldn't order it as a standalone item. The cheese wontons were tasty, but since we ordered takeout, I'm not sure if they accidentally forgot the sweet dipping sauce that usually comes with them. Overall, the food was fresh, portions were generous, and the experience was enjoyable. Next time, I'll definitely dine in to get the full experience! read more

I've been coming here for years. The food is always so good not greasy. They have lifted the prices a lot in the last couple years but it still well worth it fast did not do a sit down generally do not sit there. They have lunch and dinner sizes all day so that was a nice surprise, especially for me where I don't eat a dinner size portion by myself. For dining in though I wish there were actual plates not just the to go boxes to eat out of. What we got: The broccoli beef was my fav. Fresh and hot! The orange chicken was ok but it definitely tasted like fresh orange and had a lot of sauce. The steamed rice was a bit hard so wasn't my favorite rice. I also didn't realize the fried rice was $2 more and it was just egg fried rice, no veggies. The kung pan chicken was ok. It looked spicier than it looked, the spice is adjustable but nothing that blew us away. Our favorites are the Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao chicken, House Pan Fried Noodles, and the Hot and Sour soup. I went here to try their pan-fried upside down noodles and was rather disappointed. The noodles were not crispy and it just tasted like regular chow mein. I don't know if that was just their version of it but if it was, it was not good. I had originally thought that they had made a mistake but it wasn't. The service was pretty good. The waitress/cashier served me ice water and retrieved some napkins when I asked. She great manners, always saying please and thank you. The restaurant was a little hot as we were transitioning from winter to spring (May 2025) but maybe they turn on the aircon in summer. They have a very small dining room and I almost didn't have a place to sit but someone left right after I ordered my food. I have always seen this place but never tried. Until few weeks back. 1st time. I ordered regular orders of chicken chow mein, chicken wings, wonton soup and pork fried rice. It was all so fresh and delicious! The wing were really fresh and really good! My favorite from the other place I normally go to. The portions were good also for my family of 4. I will definitely come back! Not to mention the cashier gave me a 3$ coupon to come back. Noted also in the time I waited for my order what amazing customer service she gives throughout her interactions. You don't see great customer service as such anymore. First time here. Clean restaurant. In a strip mall. I ordered the Beef Teriyaki bowl and as much as I want to like it...I have to say that it was just okay. Maybe I had higher expectations for a 18$ teriyaki bowl. I have a pretty extensive background in teriyaki from my childhood and this beef was too soft and soggy. This was not been that had some reflections of a grill. Maybe they cook and keep it in a broth? I can't figure it out. I can't put my finger on it.... Really like how this place is so close to our house! I usually order on their website for pick up. The cashier is always so nice and the service is so efficient. We've only ordered the salt and pepper wings with a side of fried rice or chow mein. Everything turns out good every time. Okay mixed review here. If you're looking for crispy, flavor packed wings...look no further. Bomb. Dank. Grub. Now the LG war wonton soup, same. Delicious broth, hearty fillings, for ONE person if that is all you want. A family of 4, you fighting for them dumplings! Over priced imo for what you get. But definitely satisfies the soup craving. Ok, here comes the less desirable. Steamed rice was undercooked. The Mongolian beef was flavorful, but way too greasy. Small portion. They used to use the big square containers, now they use the small rectangular ones, w the black bottoms. Unfortunately, didn't take pics Sorry. The orange chicken actually had a citrus orangy smell to it and when we tasted it. Wow it set off the taste buds!! Salt n pepper chicken was real good also. I have no idea why anyone has less than 5 stars . From the moment we walked in the service was fast and they are soooo sweet !!!! We didn't know what to expect because we have been looking for a good chimes spot and we found it ! I got the pork fried rice orange chicken bowl for my kids and and the cheese ratio with the chicken egg rolls ... all delicious !!!!!! The music was country inside and I was here for it ! Family used to love this place and we still order time to time. The quality has really gone down after new owner. Kids used to love the orange peel chicken, now it's usually always burnt sauce taste and so thin it's just fried skin. Same goes for the fried calamari. Used to get a big box and large calamari and now it's tiny pieces with a bunch of breading. It's odd cause the garlic chicken is same style as orange peel but pieces tend to be larger. I prefer they keep quality and raise price or smaller portions and keep same price. Seems everyone is just raising price, smaller portions and skimping on quality. read more

It felt like fried chicken and they dipped a lot of sauce on top of it. The sauce and the chicken weren't one as it is served in many places. The low rating comes for the fried rice. It basically is fried rice, 2 percent egg and no vegetables. This fried rice is simply an add on to the entree but it feels like cheap out on it.
