Hi Readers! If only I could put in words how wonderful New Mom School is- it has absolutely changed my life as a mom. My baby was born in January of this year. My friend had recommended this school to me and since all her recommendations have always been stellar, and I checked out the reviews I decided to join. I had no idea what motherhood had in store... I ended up having to have a c-section and breast feeding was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to deal with. I pushed the date of class further and further and then finally called Alex (founder of the school) to cancel. Alex talked me through my issues. Here I was, a hard working woman who managed hundreds of people, but I couldn't make it to New Mom School?! I was exhausted, I felt like I'd be out of place... I didn't even know how much I really needed this. Alex and I talked through my fears and decided to stay in school- man am I so grateful. The school is for us by us! It's not just a school it's a place to open up, be yourself, love yourself, love others, and by doing this you are giving back to your baby! I'm a happier mommy- I've made friends that will last a lifetime. I can't imagine where I would be today without New Mom School. Alex, I hope you read this and feel my gratitude... Not only does it force you to get out of the house once a week which let's be honest sometimes is hard to do but it was so great I looked forward to it every week. It's so invaluable to be in a group with moms who all had babies the same time as you. Really makes you feel like ur not alone in whatever new fun struggle has come your way. Amazing place for new mom to get together to share the experience and discuss new motherhood. As a first time mom I can't thank this place enough! It turned an otherwise lonely newborn experience to a more fun one. The classes were also fact based and relevant and the office is in a nice location where mothers can get together for coffee and lunch right before and after class. read more

I took the newborn class. I thought most classes were super informative, although some classes were just ok. It was super pricey: $600 for one class a week for four months. My group consisted of mostly rich white women (at least my class did), who work part time, full time, or are stay at home moms but are in a really high tax bracket (own boats, have homes by the pier, etc). It was difficult to socialize with them since I had nothing in common with them. In addition, most were kind of cliquey. I would have liked to see more moms from different backgrounds and cultures. Maybe, in the future, they can offer scholarships to a few moms in the community who can't afford to pay $600. I would not attend these classes again when I have my second baby. read more

The New Mom School helped so much with the postpartum period and the newborn stage. I met life long friends from my class that I am still friends with today! It gave me something to look forward to and to get out of the house. I would recommend it to everyone in Orange County with a baby. read more

I highly recommend NMS & had a great experience! Weekly classes really helped my confidence in getting out of the house alone with a newborn and learning/growing as a new mother. I looked forward to class weekly and was sad when our session ended. I found the weekly topics helpful, but the highlight was the other mothers I met in class. 100% recommend new moms invest in themselves and take the newborn class. It was the best decision I could have made for myself after welcoming my first child. The group leaders and each week's lessons were great, but even more so was the community of women that I became friends with and still keep in touch with today. I tell all of my friends who are welcoming a baby that it's a must. Their newborn class was excellent, lots of great info about a variety of things to consider with a new baby. I especially liked the class on developmental milestones & the best types of toys for their age group to aid in healthy development. Also the class about family estate planning was very helpful. I also really enjoyed getting to know a group of moms going through similar experiences as I was, & getting to share my joys & frustrations without judgement. I'm a first time mom and I'm currently doing the newborn class through New Mom School. It has been such a positive and supportive environment to be in postpartum. The first few months of motherhood can feel very lonely and isolating and it helped to have a community of moms I could connect with whose babies are going through the exact same thing mine are at the exact same time. Each class has a new topic also with really valuable speakers and information on topics like tummy time and the post partum body etc. Also, love that they have a free breastfeeding support class led by a registered lactation consultant and they even do weighted feeds for you. I would highly recommend the new mom school to any mom, especially new first time moms like me! read more

Main Point: I would say it is a MUST for any momma to do the newborn class. I'm a first time mom and was never around babies prior. So being confident while going out was hard for me. But this class gave me the confidence and humble attitude I needed to be a good momma. Our instructor was the sweetest and extremely understanding if we needed help or guidance. The only expectation for each class was to make it there. That was the first time I knew how to prioritize my newborn experience. I have since continued to prioritize and set realistic expectations. I completed the second age group class after as well. I enjoyed it as well. However the class was at 1pm on a Friday so traffic back down to south OC was a bit hard. It was worth it though! Every class we were able to learn about different topics we struggle with as new moms or just vent to the other new moms about what's going on, and know you're surrounded by people who understand. I was lucky enough to attend the session in Encinitas, CA in 2021. Best thing I ever did as a new mom. I learned many aspects about an infant, saw that I was not navigating this new mom life alone, and formed part of a circle of mommas with which I remain friends and continue to share the good and bad things that come along the parenthood life. I don't know how I would have gotten through the postpartum period without New Mom School. Not only did I gain so much info on being a first time mom, I made connections with other moms I would have never otherwise met. Nobody prepares you for just how hard the transition to motherhood is. It's like some secret that everyone keeps from you and once you have a baby all your friends finally tell you how sucky it can be. TNMS made this transition so much easier by matching me with a group of other new moms in the same stage of motherhood as me. Each week we addressed age appropriate issues that new moms face and we had one another to lean on. I'm 15 months PP and still talk to my new mom group almost daily. Having them as a support system and having the entire TNMS Village to lean on has helped me get through so much. From post partum issues to navigating motherhood during a pandemic.... This was a life saver when I had my little one. I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend this much money on a mommy group, but it was the best INVESTMENT I could've made. No one ever tells you how hard it is. You see beautiful photos of pregnant moms, baby showers and happy babies. But no one shows you the true behind the scene tears and depression and sore nipples. My husband insisted I sign up and my friend Tammy said it was amazing. So I took a leap of faith and dragged my 2 week old baby in a car seat onto newport. I got suuuper lucky because my group leader was ALEX, the creator of this thing. She was warm, sweet and welcoming from day one. We all sat in a big circle in this cute studio and first day we had tears streaming down our faces when we shared our birth stories. It is such a safe and comfortable environment. You feel not alone. I feel blessed that my group was so open, honest, judgement free. I know some other moms from other groups don't bond as much as my group. I met the most awesome group of incredible women, wives and moms. After class the mommies with our strollers usually grab lunch nearby at the cafe. You don't feel embarrassed because everyone else's babies are crying also or boobs are out breastfeeding too. I started a Facebook messenger group chat- so we get to ask questions, vent about our husbands or mother in laws (lol), and share cool amazon baby purchases. Since then, we have had multiple play dates, mommy get away weekends to Temecula, dinners, and tomorrow all of our babies who are now one year old will have a giant baby birthday REUNION at a park with smash cakes. Being a mom is hard and scary. If you are looking for support, if you are feeling lonely and lost, you need this group. You need a VILLAGE and I am grateful that I found mine. read more

My son and I took classes with The New Mom School until he aged out of playgroup. I sincerely miss it every single week. It was the best class and the best group, and we haven't found anything like it since. Wish they did a toddler group experience as well, and continued building mom communities. I joined NMS after I'd be told by a few moms I knew that it was a "must" for new moms. After having my daughter, I was emotionally drained and physically exhausted. NMS was the safe place I needed; not only did it get me out of the house in those first few months, but I formed friendships I still have today, 18 months later, and friends I know I will cherish for a lifetime. My NMS group became extremely close and those women got me through some of the most difficult challenges of my life. I am eternally grateful to NMS for bringing me my mom tribe! My friend, who had already went through New Mom School, told me I HAD to sign up. I was initially concerned about the price, but I have now completed the Newborn class and it was an invaluable experience. In fact, I already signed up for the Infant Class! You don't realize how much support you need as a New Mom and not many people can truly understand what you're going through at that exact time you're going through it. To have 12 other Moms to share that experience with was a true blessing. I loved getting to know every Mom in our group and cherish these new friendships. Alex provided such a safe and welcoming space for us to be vulnerable and open with one another, and each class provided so much value for my life, babies, and sanity. I was a little nervous to start NMS, but it has been such a wonderful experience so far. The girls I have met from doing this have been so helpful since all the babies are around the same age. We have a group chat and ask questions and share advice with each other. It is comforting knowing we are all in it together. Our teacher is also great! I can't say enough wonderful things about The New Mom School. I didn't know what to expect when I signed up. I'm beyond grateful I did both series, I learned so much that is not talked about before you become a mom. I made amazing friendships and learn I wasn't alone during the difficult 0-3 month stage. Tuesday afternoons were the highlight of my week during my maternity leave when I would go with my baby to the New Mom School. Each week I was able to learn more about my baby and my recovery alongside a group of awesome mamas going through the same thing. We had plenty of friends with kids to turn to for advice but there's just something special about going through it at the same time as someone else. Our group text is still going as we share the pains of the four month sleep regression! Ha! The instructor was great and the guest speakers were so knowledgeable about their topics. There is as much emphasis put on baby's adjustment to their new world as there is moms adjustment to her new life. I'm so thankful I did the course and if I didn't need to return to work, I would be joining the 3-6 month series next. Highly recommend for all mamas! read more

Being a FTM I had no idea what I was doing. The NMS helped me navigate momhood. I now have lifelong friends. It's extra helpful our babies are around the same age so we can about similar things. Also the best thing I learned from the sNMS is about wake windows!! Such a life saver. read more

I'm really happy I joined the NMS. I love the group of girls I'm with and we all help each other so much. I was a little hesitant to join because of the cost, but they have great experts come and talk to you in class about sleep, tummy time, etc which makes the cost totally worth it. It's so nice to get out of the house but still be in such a comfortable and accepting setting. I really can't imagine not doing it and would strongly recommend any new mom to join. read more

One of my coworkers mentioned The New Mom School when I was pregnant so I thought I'd sign up, but little did I know this would be the absolute best thing I could do for myself postpartum. The topics are great and so on point, but the best part is meeting and being around moms who are in the same boat as you! It's amazing to have this support system (even if you have friends, family, etc. - these moms are going through the same things in real time WITH you). It helped me feel so validated, not alone, and like there was a place to turn for my random questions. Our instructor was wonderful and experienced, which also made it such a beautiful and helpful experience when you're in the throes of new motherhood. All I can say is sign up, for the sake of your mental health, sign up. It's also great to get your baby out, around other babies, etc. read more

I signed my wife up for this place and have no regrets...she had such a good time at these classes and she still hangs out with the group despite the classes being over. We both learned a lot from their guest speakers. From what she told me...this group, classes, and environment was exactly what she needed for support immediately postpartum...I'm just happy it made her happy :) read more

This school was recommended to me by my boss who has a 2.5 year old. I was incredibly reluctant to take this class first due to the cost and then in the weeks and days before the class because I have a fussy baby and was overwhelmed by the idea of taking the baby out by myself and having to deal with the inevitable dirty looks that result from a screaming baby. The teacher and all of the mom's are very friendly and supportive. The mom's in my class are great about sharing their hacks and favorite gadgets. We ask each other for advice on our group text thread and make plans for mommy baby outings such walks and to lunch. Being a new mom is very isolating and even for someone like me who have parents and a husband that help so much the new mom experience is still isolating and it helped to talk to other new moms. If you are considering signing up, I highly recommend it!!!! read more

We are currently 3 weeks into our newborn class at New Mom School and all I can say is signing up while pregnant was one of the best decisions for us! It's been such a positive experience in this season of life. As a new mom, getting out of the house in those early days/weeks with a newborn can be daunting, but new mom school has been a bright spot to look forward too in our weeks! It's a safe space to connect with other mamas and their babes and the class content each week has been so timely with what we're going through- we could have talked to the infant sleep expert for HOURS last week haha. I attended the New Mom school with my son when he was just 8 weeks old. The time spent with this mommy group was priceless! I loved the simple friendships made over the bond of new motherhood, but more than that the class atmosphere of learning different aspects of parenting and discussing the challenges and successes was wonderful during the first few months as a new mom. I am extremely grateful for The New Mom School - it is honestly an INVALUABLE experience. I've been meaning to post for years now because it really changed my whole outlook on motherhood and it forced me OUT of the house and I became so much more confident going places with my little one. Not only did I feel like I got valuable education but the support and resources were so so helpful. I enjoyed it so much that I joined the 6 month series and the second time mom school! As a new mom, this course was so amazing. There is so much stress and uncertainty about motherhood and babies, it was great to be in a room surrounded by so many others in the same boat. Everyone has different birth stories or experiences, but it is really helpful to know you are not alone! Yes, you can read helpful tips online or hear from friends & relatives, but these courses give so much more meaningful memories and advice. I plan to take another course if/when baby #2 comes along! read more
