Our son had a life threatening illness in 2024 that multiple specialists overlooked, and Dr Kar is the only reason he was able to get admitted and into surgery. He was a critical voice for us at CHOC when we needed an advocate to push for treatment, coordinate care among specialists, and get prescriptions and home health services figured out. I genuinely do not know what would have happened had we not had Dr Kar on our side. No one ever wants to be in a situation where their child has a life threatening medical condition but if you find yourself there like we did, Dr Kar will be in your court 100%.

Yep, she got my message and returned to my teenager son to reassure him he's all taken care of and is free to go only allow her to simply listens to his heart and lungs to confirm he is healthy and gave me what I requested. Our appoinment went smoothly and afterwards I revealed to my son for the reason of visit with Dr.Kellum. He agreed he's fine with it, too. So everything is great so far regarding my son's health. Dr. O'Connell is retiring she shared with us today at my son's 18 month old appointment. My boy wanted to follow her out as she closed door. He fell to the floor and cried. He is a feeler too. It's the only vaccine we didn't get and it wasn't necessary. One time I called his office to ask a question. They thought they put me on hold and started making fun of me for asking how much caffeine I can have while nursing. My daughter has had some complex medical issues but Dr. Zelkin consistently provides the most compassionate, comprehensive care. Very rarely do you find a doctors office that doesn't brush off your concerns and will see you same day, sometimes even within an hour of calling. They make our family feel seen and heard and not just like a number.
