My daughter has been attending this school for two years, and we couldn't be happier! The staff is incredibly kind and caring. Ms. Mai is the best. She truly makes the transition from Pre-K to Kindergarten so smooth. She helps the kids come out of their shell, improve their eating habits, and grow so much in their development overall. Ms. Eden is also amazing! She teaches Kinder through 3rd grade, and my daughter has learned so much from being exposed to different grade levels. Her reading has improved tremendously thanks to the supportive environment. The school also offers a fun summer camp program, where you can choose different activity packets and the kids go on trips Monday through Friday. My daughter loves it -- she's always excited to go and spend time with her friends. I've seen such a positive impact on all the kids here. Many who started out with separation anxiety or shyness now love coming to school every day. That says a lot about the teachers and how they connect with the students. One of the main reasons we went with this school was because of all the positive reviews and the smaller class sizes, which allow for more one-on-one attention between teachers and students. They also provide a yearly schedule so parents always know what's going on, and their early drop-off and late pick-up (until 5:30 PM) make it very convenient for working families. I went back to work after being a stay-at-home-mom for a year, there were so many other preschools that required to be waitlisted. But I found New Montessori, and they had immediate openings since it was during the summer months. My oldest daughter started here when she was 3-years old in summer of 2019 before the pandemic. She loved it so much, so was always sad when the weekend came around because there was no school. Then when the pandemic hit, they had to close down following the regulations of the health department. I was so thankful when they opened up again a month later, but it was specifically only for parents who worked essential jobs and was still required to continue working. They did make big changes during those times, main one was doing children drop-offs at the front office door and not allowing parents into the classrooms. My oldest daughter left the school after summer 2021 since turning 5-years old to start kindergarten in our school district. I knew we would definitely be back because of how well tailored their curriculum was for even preschoolers. Ms. Gerry and Ms. Mai made sure to prepare the children before they went on to public schools, and my oldest daughter thrived in her elementary school. We enrolled my youngest daughter in Dec 2022 when she was almost 3-years old, but was not yet potty-trained. Ms. Maritza and Ms. Monica were the best, helping her get acclimated with her new environment when she just started. They were a huge help with getting her potty-trained before the new school year started because they wanted her to be able to move up to the preschool class. She loved being in Ms. Gerry's class, especially with arts & crafts projects, learning to recognize alphabets and numbers. She even recognizes and knows how to spell her own name before turning 5! We were sad to leave the school since we enrolled her in TK within our school district, but both my daughters want to return for their summer camp programs. If I could give it zero stars I would. Teachers don't help at all. Blame your kid for another kid abusing them and do nothing to help. Just claim it's their way of "making friends". Constantly have had talks with them to help my child yet They just allow him to abuse and bully my child. If you're worried about your kids and how they're taken care of, definitely don't come here. I visited several daycare/preschool for my daughter and found New Montessori in La Puente to be the best fit in terms of environment, child to teacher ratio, and the daycare/school hours. My daughter has been attending NM since March 2019 with Ms Maritza and Ms Jennifer. My daughter enjoys going to daycare and doing different activities at the daycare, such as making yogurt, fresh fruit kabobs, and pancakes to name a few. Just after our daughter turned 3, we requested from Ms Maritza and Ms Jennifer to potty train her because my husband and I were having trouble with that. Within a couple weeks, our daughter has been potty trained. This absolutely made us so happy. Every time I drop off my daughter, I know she is in good hands, with teachers that actually care for the well being of their students. This is probably one of my favorite preschool/daycare I've used in the past. I've done private schools, gramma care, in-law care, but nothing beats the staff here. There attention to detail with the kids is a blessing. They will notify the parents if they notice behavior changes or other details with the children. The staff and teachers are wonderful. We have been a part of the New Montessori School family for 3 years and its been the best decision we have made for our family. This summer we decided to enroll our daughter to summer camp for the 1st time which was a total success. My son has been at this school for over a year and has grown so much. He started at the age of 2 and within a month I noticed his vocabulary expanded. This school has been extremely good to my kids. I recently had my 2 daughters in summer camp this year for all field trips. The teachers are very professional and very caring. It was a great experience for them. They do everything here from bowling to movie theaters to outdoor sports. They go to major field trips throughout the summer which is great. And the teachers pay very good attention to all children. Summer camp is over and i actually decided to keep my son there for regular head start. He has learned a lot in so little time. My 3 y/o son started in January and not only does he love attending Montessori but this momma is so happy that he is thriving and fully potty trained now! on Sunday nights he is already talking about how excited he is to go back to school Monday.. First of all I'm very grateful to have found this preschool/day care. Yes it can get a little pricey but I rather invest in my child then compromise his care or education. It's extremely convenient where my husband can drop of my son in the morning and I can pick him up. Ms Maritza is my sons current teacher and I can't say enough great things about her. I was on the hunt for a school for my 3 year old son. He usually stays with grandma but I felt that it was time to introduce him to the school life and I knew he was ready. I was worried that he would have a hard time transitioning because he is usually very shy and not a fan of strangers. After looking at a number of school in the area I was very disappointed- until I found NM on yelp!! I scheduled a tour and was impressed with their school. Being a teacher myself, I felt that my son should be learning AND enjoying himself, which is what he does at NM. It's only been about a month now and he's blossomed so much! My fears were calmed, he's done so well with the transition and enjoys going to school!!! All the teachers are fantastic and always so friendly. I love how Ms. Mai, Ms.Maritza,and of course Ms. Jerry are so nurturing towards my daughter and even when she can be difficult they are so understanding but still stern when it comes to all the kids behaving. Making sure they are respectful, polite, and play nice with the other kids. They make sure all the kids needs are met and are challenged in class and I love how they are intuitive. I wouldn't have my daughter go anywhere else. I am a tough critic and I was probably a difficult parent that is hard to please only because I don't like my daughter to have any sweets, juice, or watch tv a lot so for them to be able to make sure my daughter isn't left out and still follow my wishes isn't easy! My son has attended this school for 5 years and I could not be more happy with the results. The staff is extraordinary and professional. The curriculum and overall values taught here are the main reasons why I chose this facility. The size of the classrooms are very intimate and the level of comprehension I see in my child is enough for me to come back, year after year. My twin 3 year old girls were enrolled for a month 03/10/2019 to 04/10/2019 . Everything seemed fine except, my child was not watched properly and was mistreated. One of my daughter's got away from the play area and was reportedly found jumping off crates. Another time she apparently sneaked out of the classroom and was found by another teacher playing outside. To top all of this, on three different occasions my other daughter said ( Mrs. Gracie) hit her. Enough was enough so I took my daughter back to talk to the teacher. The teacher accused had another teacher talking for her and there was no language barrier so I didn't understand why this teacher stepped in . Ms. Gracie never once tried to comfort or talk to my daughter about the situation. If I were her, I would had tried to find out why this child was accusing me of something. This made her look suspicious. Then I contacted the owner. The owner took two days to get started on the investigation I requested. When he finally got around to looking into it and checked the video footage, he stated " it was looking for a needle in a hay stack and he only had two speeds on his video recorder. " "There was blind spots and mostly the cameras were placed for the safety of the school and not for monitoring the kids." I don't recommend this school to anyone who cares about the well being of your child because the kids safety should always be #1 priority not the school it self. However, I do recommend you ask your child every everyday how there day in school is because you never know what could be going on . read more
