I as very excited when we enrolled our child into the location. We were in Rancho Alamitos prior. However, there is a serious issue with incidents, specifically bitting. I made friends with a parents who's child moved out of toddlers. He shared it was a concern when he was there too. In the toddler room, his child was bitten to the point where he became the biter. In less than two months, our child was bitten 5 times. Also, they feed them so much 'corporate food' like gold fish and pan cakes with a shitload of syrup. read more

I was referred to KinderCare by my sister. My son started daycare mid January and I love it and so does he. Laura made registration so easy and gave us a tour of the school. The staff are all very welcoming and helpful. I like that I get updates throughout the day as well as pictures of my son and any activities he does. Yesterday I had a tour and I went w my baby. The staff showed me the infant classroom. The other kindercares that i went to showed me the classroom from outside. This staff took me inside. I was holding my baby so she let me go inside barefoot and she took off her shoes, walked in on her socks. We went inside and i saw kids crawling and playing on the floor. Not very hygienic. I didn't realize the value of this day care until there was a chance that we were going to move away. I found out about KinderCare through my job which offers 10% off Kindercare. At first I skipped this KinderCare on Yelp due to the star rating, but I found myself desperate to find a daycare without a waitlist and they happened to have 2 openings! I also noticed that the lower ratings were 5-6 years ago and all the reviews thereafter were 5 stars. My son started in the infant classroom and has been attending here for 6 months. He loves it! I am very grateful for this Kindercare for the following reasons: -the teachers care about my child, are invested in his development, and show him a LOT of love -there is food provided and the menus are posted. This is a life saver since we don't have the chance to meal prep as full time working parents. The meals are generally healthy and nutritious. -convenient location and hours If I were to give constructive feedback it would be regarding the entries in the app... teachers are not always consistent with entering food, sleep, etc. I started to ask for a verbal review of his naps and last bottle before my baby got on a routine. Other daycares don't have an app, so I am at least grateful for a platform to get updates and photos of my baby. Thank you Kindercare! I have sent my children here for the past 5 years now and can honestly say that I can trust that my children are in the best care. All the teachers have shown compassion and kindness to my children while teaching them social skills needed for school. My youngest son is currently in the infant room and struggled to adjust when he started attending. He was 8 months and refused bottles. His teachers went above and beyond to make sure he was fed and happy. One teacher even went to target to get a new bottle for him to try (thank you ms. Alicia!)! I am happy to say that he is now thriving in class and is so excited to see his teachers every day ( shoutout to his amazing teachers ms. Sabrina, ms. Charlene, and ms. Alexis!). The director, ms. Amanda, is incredible. She is approachable and is always willing to help in any way she can. She keeps the center spotless and adorable making it an inviting place for kids to be. Ms. Catherine is also amazing. She keeps order and genuinely loves my kids. These ladies (and ms. Laura who is fantastic too!) run a tight ship and are the best leaders. I absolutely love this daycare. I recently started my daughter in day care and it was tough because she's two now and never had been in daycare before that. I toured another location but liked this one way more because Amanda was the sweetest and so understanding. My little one would get soooooo scared and cry so loudly but they assured me that it was normal and it's part of the emotions with transitioning and they made me feel like it would soon be ok. She sometimes still cries a bit when I drop her off but soon she is happily coloring or playing with the toys there. The thing I love the most is that they have an app that allows you to see how your child is doing. The teachers send me pictures of her and she looks so happy and it gives me peace of mind. All the girls in the classroom seem so patient and sweet and I love them all for helping my child adapt so quickly! read more

My kids have been attending Kinder Care since infants up to the school age class room. My oldest is now 7 years old and still attends for after school program/activities. The center provides both drop off and pick up services for schools near their location (West Covina) As a full time working parent the convenience, hospitality and over all trust I have built with my center staff is truly the best quality. My child started a few months ago & absolutely loves it ! All the staff there is amazing & everything always seems to be clean when I go in to drop off and pick up my child. Was looking for an after school program for my 10 year old daughter. I came across kindercare Merced online and decided to check it out. I did the whole tour with Amanda and she was very polite and helpful and gave me all the information I needed to know. She was very easy to communicate with and that made the tour go very well. I was introduced to the teachers Ms Edith and Ms Jasmine. Edith was very kind and full of smiles and attentive towards her side of the class and Jasmine was very nice as well to alicia and made her feel welcome in the class . I felt comfortable with the environment and decided it would be a good fit for my daughter. After deciding to do the enrolling process ms Cruz and Amanda helped out with a lot of things and were very nice about it. It's been a month and so far my daughter loves going and I still get shown the same respect and hospitality I did as when I first came to kindercare. There are not enough words to express how grateful I am for this center. I trust no one and was extremely anxious about putting my 1 year old and 5 year old into Daycare. After touring every available daycare center, I knew there was no other center other than this one I would even consider putting them in. What stuck out to me when I visited was that all of the teachers were happy and seemed to enjoy being there. Amanda and Laura who work in the office greeted and knew the names of every child that walked by so I knew they took an interest in the kids there. The center was clean, secure, and decorated according to the season. What I didn't know was how much Amanda and Laura cared about the kids there or how much they put into this center. They put their whole hearts into the care of these kids and always go above and beyond to plan activities and events for them and truly treat every child there like they are their own. Whether they are crying at the preschool graduation they planned or texting me to tell me something funny my kids did or just sending photos of them, I can guarantee that no one will treat kids better than the teachers and staff here. I think they may even treat my kids better than I do lol. I'm 98% sure that if any one of the kids that go to this center needed a kidney or a liver, Ms. Amanda would donate both. Beyond that, they are always available to us parents and take an honest interest in our lives outside the center. My son started in the 2 year old room and went thru the 4's. He loved it there and I knew he was safe. The teachers kept me updated on his day each day. My daughter currently attends KinderCare is in the 3's and started in the infant room. I love receiving pictures throughout my day. Makes me feel better and I know she is safe. I love how they do actual school work curriculum with the students, fun art activities and she is fed breakfast, lunch and snack. So I don't have to worry about packing her food. I have a 2 yr old and 4 yr old who attend this wonderful Kindercare facility. I never really write reviews, but I know I needed to because my children and myself have had such a great experience here. Ms Carrie and Ms Cruz have been great to my children whether it be as simple as greeting me and children every morning and everytime I pick them up. They go above and beyond for your child and make them feel so comfortable. They were willing to give a tour to this unannounced parent. They gave us the run down of the daily activities, and answered any questions I had. This center is one of the best run Kindercare Centers I have encountered. Our family loves the staff, their patience, caring and loving towards the children, their academic curriculum, and cleanliness. Our grand daughter is almost 2 1/2 yrs old and has been attending KinderCare since she was a few months old. She loves her teachers, all of the kids in her classroom, their daily academic activities, their outdoor play, and most of all, their singing and dancing activities. She looks forward in going to school everyday and we can be at ease going to work, and knowing that she is in good hands. The teachers even send us pictures every so often if the daily activities that she engages in.. The quality of child care is great..but I have some major issues with their accounting practices. It has been almost 2 years since my child last attended and it has taken this long for my account to be correctly adjusted. I paid the last week she attended and by some asinine reason my payment was put on someone else's account and mine was marked delinquent. It's taken 2 YEARS to get them to fix this despite my having called, emailed, gone to corporate, shown proof of the cashed check..and on and on. I found out today that they reported me to the credit bureaus and have affected my ability to refinance. Why was this not corrected when it was brought up two years ago?? Now I have to fight the credit bureau as well! read more

I took a tour through the facility (which I think is generally nice) and listened to the presentation given by the director's assistant. There are a couple of positive aspects about the facility however the negative aspects significantly outweigh the positive aspects. Positives- decent amount of toys and materials Negatives - staff:student ratio - I got the used car sales(wo)man vibe from the assistant (information is good but I believe the program should sell itself - I was provided with the "local competitors" to compare services ..the only thing is the local competitors binders has a few companies with little information about the companies (I realize they may not want people going to their competitors but if you offer a binder with the intention that "our company is better than theirs" adequate information should be provided -the biggest complaint that I have is after listening to the assistant's spiel about how great the company is I informed her that I went to KinderCare on Lark Ellen and was offered a free day to try the service. I also explained that the classroom that my son was in has a distinct urine smell. The assistant then offered me a free day at the W Merced center due to the experience at the previous center. I called back a couple of weeks later to inquire about the free day and was told by the same assistant that because I used a free day at Nogales location I would not be able to try the service at the W Merced location. When I reminder her of the discussion and the fact that I went to the Lark Ellen location she insisted it was the Nogales session. I'm not sure if they think parents are just trying to get free days but it's unprofessional to make an offer and change your mind. I'm considering contacting the corporate office to let them know my experience at KinderCare. read more

I happened upon the KinderCare on Merced one day in an effort to find a loving, CLEAN, and curriculum based child care for my 13month old daughter. Many of the schools have a very clinic and truly sad feeling environment but this was certainly not my experience here1111 Amanda (assistant director), Carrie (the director), and miss Kathryn and miss Lauren all gave my princess a warm well and I decided to enroll my daughter in their program. I did not experience the smell of urine as described by other posts, but im sure its to be expected as it is a facility filled with children being potty trained. The director and assistant director seemed truly concerned with making sure the my daughter and I were satisfied and fulfilled with her experience there. MY daughter will be in the infant room as she has not transitioned to walking yet (she is so close). Her first day is on Monday and I will continue to post about our experience to reflect my experiences as placing your most precious assess in someone else's hands can be a truly scary and nerve racking decision. My children have been going here for over three years and it has been amazing! The teachers are so caring and helpful! They always updating me on my children progress. The director and assistance director are so amazing, they treat my kids like they are theirs. My kids learn so much here. Being a parent you always worried about what's going on when your children are not in your presence and after being in four horrible daycare facilities im finally happy I found the best "family" to care for my children. read more

If there is negative,I will give negative negative! The first time my child got hurt, there was no accident report to me and no teachers told to me! I only sent my child less than three weeks. He got so many hurt! More terrible thing is that the school lied to me! The most serious one was absolutely scratched by other children, but they sad one of the children bump into my kid and binoculars scratched my kid. Even other classmate scratched him I wouldn't say anything, for school, lied? Please! Stop lying! Another thing, one day when I picked my kid, all his tops was wet and teachers did not change for home. The classroom is so cold! The next morning he got high fever! If you are finding some school, look at the negative feedback! That is true! For school, for teachers, five stars is what they should do! So there is no need of five stars feedback here! If you do not want your children get sick and get hurt. Read carefully and consider about this school carefully! Never recommended! read more

KinderCare Merced is the absolutely BEST!! Speaking from experience after having such awful experiences with 2 prior daycares. Fortunately, Mrs. Amanda had an opening for my 1-year old son. Suddenly, there was light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone here is amazing and has made our transition so graceful and pleasant. Their constant communication, nurture, and the love they give to my little bear is just what I wanted and he needs. After past experiences, I really thought it would take me a while to trust someone with my son again but this really didn't take long. Mrs. Amanda made the application process so straight forward and easy, she was readily available to answer all my questions that came up as we transitioned especially during COVID time. My son's teachers are just absolutely AMAZING!! They're such warm-hearted, loving, caring, patient, flexible, understanding, and transparent individuals. They do so many fun activities in his classroom. It's a nice balance of fun and learning. The structure of the class is great for teaching them routine but it's also flexible. The facility is also very clean! And everyone does they're part to keep it clean. They also have a nice app that allows me to see when my little one had a diaper change or what and how much he ate along with pictures of him throughout the day. I love the app so much!! I just love everything about this place! I'm so grateful for everyone here and all they do for our little ones! We are so happy to call this KinderCare our daycare home read more

My 1 year old has been going here for a month and it's just been bad news. They wouldn't wash her hands or face whenever she got dirty. They fed her sugar all the time. I know this because I don't feed her any sweets at home so when she does have sugar-a lot of it, her face breaks out in these hive like rashes.. but what really just set me off the edge was when she came down with the hand foot and mouth disease. This facility didn't contact me to let me know there was an outbreak. They only called me once she got it and I had to immediately come and pick her up. I had to take days off work to treat her for 2 weeks...Once she got better, I decided to give this place one last chance, in good faith..The first day she was back, she got it again!! I know for a fact that they weren't sanitizing or cleaning properly. I'm so disappointed and disgusted with this facility. read more

I will start by stating- My 2 year old son was previously enrolled in another center based facility (Dove Day) in San Dimas. While we LOVED it, the daily commute to pick him up became quite daunting ( I work in Brea, live in W. Covina) so I started to look around for other, comparable care at a nearby facility. Before enrolling at Dove Day school, I initially toured Merced KinderCare, Nogales KinderCare, Bright Star Montessori, and Belaire Little people in the surrounding area (late 2015/early 2016). I will also note, I toured each site more than once, sometimes up to 3 visits. I was happy to find the KinderCare Director or Assistant Director at each site ( Pamela, Carrie, or Amanda) was consistently helpful, friendly, ready and willing to give tours to this unannounced, unscheduled, quality daycare seeker. My first couple of tours of both KinderCare sites, did not result in an enrollment as the classes were either full or the tuition was just out of my price range for my then, 14month old. As those who have children in child care centers may know, child care centers are : 1) Crazy Expensive 2) as the child gets older, the cost tends to go down a little (due to the increased child to teacher ratio). During my most recent "Daycare center world tour" ,I returned to Merced KinderCare to visit my "friends" Carrie and Amanda to see if they had any openings for my brand new 2 year old. :) Amanda greeted me at the door and to my surprise, she remembered my son and I from a tour earlier that year! Amanda then proceeded to show us around the Discovery classroom, the playground, gave us the run down of the daily activities, and answered any questions I had as they came to me (even if that meant I cut her off mid presentation- as she is very enthusiastic about their program!). We looked at the menus- meal and snack options are healthy and sounded delicious. While we were out in the play area, there was a teacher leading an activity on the (artificial) grass where she and the kids were rolling from one side to the other. Looked and sounded like teacher and children were having a lot of fun. So when I asked the magic question of "do you have any openings in this class?" I was thrilled to hear the answer "yes, yes we do!'. That triggered more questions from me as my son was already very familiar and comfortable with his classmates, teachers and the early morning "drop off" teacher at his present school. In short, we had a routine, and I didn't want to disrupt it too much (because then there are tears at drop off). Amanda explained to me they are willing to accommodate anything we needed (within reason of course) to help with the transition. She did not try to talk me out of anything, she explained we can call, drop in , or text message anytime and she or the teacher or both will provide updates. -----THIS was the "make or break" answer to the question I didn't even have to ask this time (can we drop in anytime to check on the kids?). I know, no day care center should restrict parents from dropping in, but that statement provided me with a level of comfort I would not have yet had if I had to ask. Overall, Amanda, was more than patient with me and the barrage of questions. She was also very kind to my son and even got him to relax a bit during our visit. Then Carrie (Director) came out of her office to say hello (she was in a meeting or on a call ). She and Amanda make a great team. Carrie is super sweet, her energy level perfectly complements her position as Director at a child care center and she is equally as patient as Amanda. My son even gave her a hug and a high five before we left. I have so much more to add, but will end here, because I'm not sure Yelp! allows for this short story, quickly turning into a graphic novel of a review. I will add an update to tell you about our first week and more about the awesome staff here. So far , I feel we made a great choice enrolling our son at KinderCare. read more

We had a horrible experience with this daycare. My son was potty trained and never had accidents, but for some reason when he was at school he would always wet his pants. He said the teacher would get mad when she had to take him to the restroom. We final pulled him out when he told us the teacher would squeeze his hand very hard when she would get mad or frustrated. I understand that 3 and 4 year old children can be difficult, but if you don't have the patience get a new job. I complained to the facility, but I'm sure nothing was done. I would not recommend that anyone leave their children here. read more
