I saw several staff members yell at toddlers for simple common behaviors. What surprised me the most was seeing one of the assistants yelling so hard at a 4 year old to the point that she grabbed the little girl by the arm and pulled the girl towards her face to yell at her more. I've worked with children since I was 19 years old. I'm 37 now, and no. This is not okay. The staff here needs more training and patience to deal with little ones. So disappointing to see a center base care for kids this way. read more

My son has been coming to Kindercare for almost 2 years now and absolutely loves it. My experience with the center has been nothing but pleasant. Ms. Margie and Ms. Maria are Always so kind and welcoming, every teacher I have encountered has been very friendly, especially Ms.Kristi and Ms. Mita they are always the first two to say hello. He started off in the toddler classroom with Ms. Toya, Ms. Desiree And Ms. Bridie, his growth in learning was very encouraging from them. He's Currently in the twos classroom and his teachers Ms. Esmeralda, Ms.Ariana and Ms. Yosemite are doing an amazing job, my son teaches me something new he's learned almost everyday! TO CURRENT AND POTENTIAL PARENTS INTERESTED IN SEEKING SERVICES AT THIS LOCATION: ¡¡To parents who are interested in enrolling your child into this facility, I would advice completely against it; however, if like me, there's a convenience and necessity and this is the only childcare accessible.... let me first tell you what to expect: #1. Your child will be subject to teacher favortism #2. I guarantee your child will be bullied and harassed and expect no accountability or assistance from the staff #3. The center director will do absolutely nothing when raising concerns about harassment and instead will place your child on a field trip with their bully. #4. Your child will encounter horrid customer service by many employees. For the purpose of ensuring this doesn't get taken down, and ONLY for that purpose, I will not name them directly. Just know that they are cold, indifferent, and flat out unprofessional at best. With the exception of Mr. Michael, shout out to you sir. You're holding that places' character by a thread. #5. Expecting great customer service?They don't have the decency or tact to greet the parents when picking up their children. #6. They do not keep accurate records of the student's incident reports. (they'll just not write one or if your insistant, create one expeditiously and also lie about details) +more.... And God forbid you press on the matter of your child's well being, because then you'll be gaslit by Margie (center director), while she has an emotional melt down, because you're "questioning her authority as a director and disrespecting HER" Forget your child's best interest, nope, if Margie thought best to place your child with her bully of MONTHS, instead of placing them on different days of the field trip, you'll be thrown out of the facility for raising concerns. And she'll also refuse to give you the contact information of her superiors. I have enough tantrums at home with my 6 yr old, I never thought I would be forced to experience it with her director as well. This center director, is a CHILD! And I can't seem to comprehend how ANYONE would have seen her fit for such a position of authority. Disgusting is the only word to describe what her behavior and that of her assistant Valerie, is. Such a shame they have employee's the likes of them. You can only imagine what the rest of the team is like and what they get away with. Do better for the children that remain there. It irks me so much to see such terribly low ratings on a wonderful place with super loving staff that are dear to me and my son. I am only speaking on my experience starting Jan 2019 and forward. I enrolled my son in WC KinderCare's toddler class when he was 1.5 yrs old after touring and shopping around Montessori schools, churches, home daycare. My son has severe eczema from food allergies so I was super picky about cleanliness, attentiveness, space, milestones development, pleasant staff, and just wanted the best for my kid and peace of mind for me. This facility met all I was looking for. The director Margie was really nice and answered all my questions, followed up, I had a tour and free trial first day. Teacher/kid ratio: for toddler class was 1 teacher to 4 kids (others were 1:6 or 8) and they were sticklers about keeping 1:4 at all times because it's one of many corporate KInderCare standards and there are routine checks from district, I later learned. I remember one teacher had to call the director to stand in before she went in the adjacent connecting room for 20 sec to get me a form that I asked for. Cleanliness: the facility always smells nice, unlike others. Restrooms, floors, carpets are to my surprise always clean. I see the teachers clean during the day and evening and the floors/carpets get sanitized weekly. I like their diaper changing areas, they use a roll of disposable sheet and gloves per kid, next to a sink, with soap and hand sanitizer, there's tissue boxes everywhere and I do see teachers wiping little noses. My son inevitably gets runny nose and the teachers would even wet the tissue so he never came home with a sore nose. The little things matter. Diapers get changed at least every 2 hrs and they get logged daily on the KinderCare App, which I love! Communication: I get pictures and daily updates about what he had for lunch, how long he napped, activities, and teachers would tell me how his day went at pickup. I get a phone call if he had a boo-boo or possible food sensitivity, it gets written up, goes into his file. End of class year, he got a report card and parent-teacher conference. So I love the open communication aspect, which was lacking from relative-home-care. Price: It's reasonable, not the cheapest and not overpriced. Margie is super helpful, kind, and was able to work out a 10% discount from my company. They serve healthy food. I used to bring in his food and milk bc of his allergies but not anymore since Miss Yolanda modifies his meals. This location has a cook that makes fresh breakfast and lunch daily and provides 2-3 rounds of snacks. Nut-free facility. They are all very aware and attentive to his allergies. Loving Teachers and Staff: Save the best for last. I wrote a novel already but I can't say enough good things about the staff. Miss Kristi, Yvonne, Magaly, Anais, Taylor, Mita, Leiann, Alice, Margie, Susie, Kim, Michael, Miranda, Tim, Paulina are all super loving to the kids, respectful and Montessori style teaching. They have a huge responsibility and I'm so relieved everyone including the cook is very passionate. Most important is my son is safe, loved, and is thriving here. It shows and as anal I am, I trust my son in their hands. It took him 2 months of crying at drop off at the beginning but after I hand him off 1-10 min, he carries on the day and I hear about it later. I know everyone by first name and my son would miss and mention their names on the weekends. It's not easy to get him to go home nowadays, he likes to stay longer. This facility with this loving team is grossly underrated on Yelp and I think many other parents feel the same but may be too busy like me, to write all this. I almost didn't consider this place because of the bad reviews but luckily I took a chance. So I hope this perspective helps. read more

I absolutely love this place. They are very sweet and welcoming. The teachers and director are always welcoming to questions and suggestions. I love my sons classroom. The teachers focus on my sons development and I know every parent loves to hear the stories and how well their children are doing with their learning development. I simply could not have chosen a better secure environment for my son. Oh and theirs a fire station literally right behind this location and it makes me feels that more more comfortable. They also have a locked secure door in and out with a private pen code so it makes me feel safe for my son. read more

My husband and I enrolled our son in the Infant classroom when he was around 4 months old. The teachers in his class have been so attentive and caring. They update me on his progress throughout the day and have been so crucial in helping with his development both gross motor skill and overall growth in general. Our son was underweight and needed some extra care with regards to his feedings and his teachers really took it to heart and made sure that we worked together to help him gain weight. Great Feeling! I can start off with i have searched around for schools and finally found this Kinder Care a pleasant place. As a new mom you are always skeptical in leaving your baby with strangers. But, I toured the West Covina school many times, and felt very at ease and comfortable. The Infant staff were easy going n seemed to care for each baby with lots of love. This was so nice to see!! This school is very greedy. When I told them that I could no longer afford to send my son there... they immediately stopped picking up my son from school, then had the balls to put on the Withdrawl form: "Did not give me 2 weeks notice" when I gave them 3 weeks notice... for 3 weeks I didn't have a babysitter, when I finally had the time to have them fill out the withdrawal form they have the nerve to lie!! Causing my child unable to attend another daycare until the 2 weeks that I gave them were up. So basically, they got paid for the weeks my kid wasn't even there. It's a horrible greedy school... and you may not understand all that I'm saying... but seriously... they're greedy...it's not about the children. LOSERS!! read more

I love this place!! I had my two daughters attend this school (3 years old and an infant) Let me just start by saying how amazing the staff is! They made us feel like family. They loved our little girls so much. I could go to work so happy knowing they were well taken care of. They would text me pictures all the time as well. We moved so they no longer attend the school but there is not a day my three year old is not asking for them. We miss the level of care they had for our girls. NOTHING SHORT OF AMAZING! read more

I have 2 children who attend this facility, ages 23 months and 8 years, and they've been here for approximately 1 year. My husband and I are very pleased with the care our children receive. The staff is very attentive to our children's needs and they are excellent about communicating with us about how the children behaved each day and what they learned. My 8 year old gets after school help with her homework which is very helpful. We also receive a monthly newsletter about what our 23 month old will be learning each month. They emphasize achieving milestones which is VERY important to me! The facility is always clean and I feel as though the staff genuinely cares about my children. I love this place. My kids have been going here for years. The staff is so warm and loving and make your child and you feel right at home. I am very over protective parent and I completely trust them. Ms. Pam is so friendly and welcomes you with open arm. My children have learned so much my kindergarten will be starting ahead of the bunch because of these amazing teachers. Ms. Cole has been my 5 year olds teacher for years amazing teacher. Just took a tour of the place and the director Brittany very welcoming and nice. I didn't get a fake vibe from her. She answered my questions and made me feel at peace. My daughter has been going to this Nogales center since she was 9.5 weeks old. I constantly looked out for safety and advised the center director at that time (Denise Freeman). My daughter settled well at this location till recently when she moved to the 3s class room. She picked up words that are not nice to hear from young children. I reported this to the director, Pam. It took them 1 week to get back to me while initially I was felt that my daughter was making things up! Once she even told me that a teahcer hit her arm and again I was told it was not (so my daughter made it up, how sad is that?? I can't imagine how 3 year olds can make such things up). Management is very poor, Pam should not be the director, she is very rude and moody! We are pulling our daughter out of this center, not a good great place for older kids. read more

After being able to be a stay at home mom for 2 years, I had to go back to work and put my very very slow to warm son in daycare, my husband and I looked at a few different daycares before going to take a tour at Kindercare and right away I knew this was the place for us! Everyone there made the facility feel so homie and welcoming. The director Brittany answered all of my "crazy mom" questions and reassured my husband and I that our son was going to be taken care of and loved while there. And boy she was right! Ms. Gabby was amazing with Gianni, when he needed to be cuddled or held that is what she would do! She takes care of all her kids as if they were her own! I am so great full that my son was able to bond and feel loved with her while I was at work. Even though my son was super attached to Ms. Gabby all of the teachers in the building were always so loving to my son and every time we picked him up he loves to say goodbye to each one of them. read more

My kids absolutely love this place just as I did when I was younger. The staff is beyond amazing. They are very inviting and friendly every single morning when we come in. I love how committed each and every single teacher is with the students. This is the worst kindercare center ever. My three year old was there only for one month, and there were four accidents already. I asked the teacher what happened. Their attitude was terrible and said just accidents. One of the teacher clipped my kid's finger, and guess what? the assistant of director Lorraine just lied to my face and told me it was one of the kid who did this. One month 4 accidents!!!!!! They thought it is okay. They said accidents happened all the time. I told them that I sent my kids to this school, and the school should have the responsibility to make sure my kids are safe. The assistant Lorraine just kept saying that accidents can happen , it is not the supervision problem and maybe we should just take it. People, if you want you kids to be safe. Stay as far as you can with the West Covina Kindercare!!!!! Lack of professional and responsibilities. This assistant is lying and covering for the teachers. read more

First off the school lacks in cleanliness and always smells like dirty poopy diapers. The food they serve is horrible. My kids always came home starving. The director there Pam, she is always sitting on her rump in her office, gabbing on her cell phone. Then there is Kristine, assistant director, she was great, she should have gotten promoted to Center Manager. Pam doesn't foster togetherness. She is too busy wielding threats that if you are late picking up the kids, she is going to start fining you. And when you do bring up an issue to Pam, there is always some excuse, sweep under the rug. Then when you move to her boss, Kenny, he is just as bad. He really thinks his **** doesn't stink. He did his 'investigations' and called me to recap his decision, boy was he a fast talker. Didn't let me get a word in edge wise. Real slick he was. Then I get a call from 'licensing' and now my kids are kicked out of the center for 'bad behavior.' Which I am not saying my babies are innocent but they are 3 years old. They don't understand that they have been 'removed' from their daycare. Pam tells me that she instructed the teachers to 'document' everything my kids do, so that nothing is a surprise to me. Ummmmm....funny that everything was being documented after I lodged complaints with their licensing department. read more

My daughter is an "only child" and has been with Kindercare since she was 4 months. She has been with this West Covina Kindercare, in particular, for the last 5 years. I truly feel like Kindercare is part of my daughter's family. And as is true with any "family," I have had disagreements with Kindercare through the years. But they listened to me and provided thoughtful feedback. I always believed that Kindercare wanted my daughter to succeed in life, so I was always able to work out my differences. Look, no one is perfect or has all the answers. And stuff happens sometimes. Through the years, my daughter has misbehaved, like most other children will, and got her share of bruises and scratches from rough play with the other children. But she is happy and feels secure at Kindercare. Kindercare has worked with my family as a partner to nurture the growth of my daughter and prepare her for the challenges of the "Common Core" curriculum of grade school. A few weeks ago, my daughter took an English placement test at the elementary she now attends for 1st grade and is considered "advanced." And in her first week of school I have seen that she is already making new friends. I believe that my daughter is ready for next phase of her growth and I give the credit to the family relationship that we have with Kindercare. If you work with Kindercare as a team, I truly believe your child can get a great start in life and be prepared to face the challenges of grade school. Thank you Kindercare! read more

This place is decent, the teachers are real nice and real. As a parent who has been here for a while decided to put in a review!! I'm counting down the days my child goes into public school!! I'm here because I trust and love all of the teachers! They make me feel real safe! The kids learn and have lots of fun. I don't want to bash the school but the person running it ....The Director..... Pam is fake and full of S***! Always on her butt, on her orange little phone never involved and word is she is hard to work/deal with. I've talked to a few parents to see if I'm the only one who can't deal with her! And I'm not!! I smile and say hi but that's as courteous I can be! I love when I bring my child in and the opening teachers greet me with friendly smiles offer my child breakfast even when I'm running late! The assistant is so friendly and is always so nice! She puts down the rules in a nice way instead of being short and rude. She is Professional and friendly! All the teachers are wonderful from infant room to older kids in the back, even the cook is real nice and knows all the kids by name!!
