Ever since I bought my beautiful black hooded, reversible full-length raincoat here many moons ago, I have loved this boutique in Cambria. It is packed with lively, colorful, yet elegant women's wear for everyday or special occasions. We wandered in out of the "atmospheric river" that was falling on the Central Coast and had fun looking for gifts for a couple of friends with upcoming birthdays. The saleslady was very friendly and instantly made us feel at home. It was easy to find a casual, creative top for one friend and a stunning pair of socks for another, both at reasonable prices. We also got ideas for birthday gifts in the near future. I know from experience that these are the kind of clothes that make you feel light-hearted and well-dressed every time you put them on. New Moon Boutique of Cambria, CA, along with Hello Boutique of Hamden, CT, are my favorite online shops; with favorable mention to Marcella, Eileen Fisher, NYC, and Elan, Aventura, FL. The clothing lines carried by these stores include Cut Loose, Bryn Walker and Flax which are a pure joy to wear. New Moon and Hello Boutique offer excellent customer service, great websites, many fashion options and promotions, and are most definitely my go-to stores as an online shopper. I am an Arizona resident in my later 60's, once tall and slim, with 40+ years of daily 60-minute walks under my belt, aerobically fit, and adherent to a good diet. Unfortunately, genetic arthritis has worsened to the point that I have significant mobility disability issues with over 3" of height loss and a figure that can no longer be considered slim. New Moon and Hello Boutique have allowed me to feel comfortable and attractive again, with fashions that are flattering, eclectic and trendy. I have been shopping at New Moon and their sale store, Half Moon, for years. They introduced me to several clothing brands that have become favorites. Tribal, Cut Loose, Citronbleu, Parsley and Sage and Kleen to name just a few. If you want to be in style, comfortable and not look like everyone else, you will love this shop. I always love shopping, usually on line, at new moon. It has a great selection of clothing, and i usually find something. I am particular about my clothing and they have such a huge selection it makes my job a lot easier. On the odd occasion i even get to drop by. they are always helpful and friendly too. I will start by saying it is really expensive but the quality I've found is significantly better than Target as someone who reviewed here said. I love that they have a plus size section and that they have a boho chic vibe and it's not just "mom clothes." I love their jewelry selection as well. I ordered a dress almost 3 weeks ago. It has not been delivered and when I pull up the order it no longer even shows "pending". There is no information I can access from the website about the status of the order. 3 weeks have passed and no information is available. I found a really cute jumper at a nice boutique in the Columbia Gorge in Oregon. It was exactly what I had been looking for to wear through the hot summer months. Unfortunately, they did not have my size. So I thought I could order it online. I have actually been to the New Moon boutique in person several times and it is a very cute place with friendly service. I placed my order the last week of June and I was sure that I would get it within a month. Finally in September, I received it. The jumper was well-made and really cute but a little longer length than expected, but definitely still wearable. However, I am just so disappointed that I don't have the intensely hot weather anymore to enjoy the loose and comfortable outfit. I can not recommend ordering anything online from here, unless you don't need it for several months. Anyhow, the New Moon boutique is a fun place to go and I can only recommend buying something in person. read more

Fabulous. You want good value and great prices? Most of all, what's terrific about this place is that it's got stuff for women in their 50's and 60s. We're talking about size fits, fashion fits and the overall look is beautiful. No bright pinks. No sharp corners on the jackets. Lots of style. Mellow colors but really nice colors. Soft shapes. Great prices. We went back the next morning for more. We're from NYC and you think you can buy anything in NYC? Not really. I LOVE THIS SHOP! How has this shop owner figured out what no one else seems to be able to grasp? Women over 45 want to feel comfortable and stylish in their clothes. Poor communication and poor customer service, waited more than a week and several e:mails to get a response, the response: cancel the order. After waiting 11 weeks for a special order it was cancelled, no explanation, no apology. Will not be doing business with them again. I am now waiting for a refund for part of an order, we'll see how that goes! read more

Let me start of by saying, I love this place. It always has such cute rings and accessories. BUT, I was just there on Saturday and I'm not too stoked about my experience. My mom, sister and I walk in and there's a HUGE dog in the door way and the lady running the store is laughing and talking with the owner of the dog. That's fine. She said hi and we started to walk around. I found this really pretty ring that I wanted to purchase... the only problem is, I couldn't get her attention. She was still laughing and talking with the dog owner. Well, I figured if I stood there long enough at the counter, she'd come help me. At least 10 mins later, I was still standing there. So I just put the ring back and we walked out of the store. I felt as if she didn't want my business. She couldn't even walk away from the conversation to ring me up really quick! New Moon women's clothing boutique has a sister store next door called Half Moon. Like New Moon, Half Moon is a gem....only a less expensive gem then New Moon. The clothes at either boutique are scrumptious, meaning both the designs and fabrics are what makes these women's clothing stores unique. If you've ever been to women's fine clothing stores in Europe or Canada, you'd know how much more beautiful their designs and fabrics then most similar stores in the US. Well....New and Half Moon in Cambria, CA carry the most beautiful, chic, often stunning garments available in the US short of Saks or Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive. At Half Moon, I have found the most rarest of finds.....gorgeous clothes at prices that I would not believe had I not been there in person and paid for them myself. Half Moon is filled with the same beautiful clothing from New Moon, only they are selections that the delightful owner moves next door to make room for the new shipment coming into Full Moon. Lucky us! Happy, happy shopping adventure as these boutiques are so much fun and you never know what cutting edge styles you'll find at the most reasonable prices. Even if you see something you love at the full prices in New Moon, you'll feel the prices are fair for the quality you are getting. That's if you can't wait or take a chance on the same piece showing up next door next month which may or may not happen. Either way you win and have fun at the same time. I wandered into Mew Moon while strolling the charming town of Cambria. I was on a bit on a consumer white cloud having had the kindest, chattiest, most pleasant people in every shop I went into up and down the main street. When I walked into the New Moon boutique there was only one person there, the woman who worked there. She immediately barked at me "We're closing!" and not in a nice way. Not in a so look around but you don't have a lot of time way. In a real way that told me to "leave", or that's how I felt. I was so dumbfounded by her tone and words (tone so much worse than the words, which made the words worse I guess) and so I asked "Closing as in I can look around for a while because you're closing soon or closing as in leave now?" She said, "well we close at 6". Confused I looked at my watch just to be sure and then I informed her it was only 5:20. So she told me I could look around a bit. I only did out of spite and I would never have bought anything in a store where I was treated so rudely. She then got on the phone and ignored me until I left, never even said goodbye. Nada. Yikes. I'd like to think she couldn't have been the owner or manager, in which case I really feel badly for them they have an employee like that. read more
