I bought a little pair of sterling silver pink star earrings for my daughter'a birthday at this store. The evening of her birthday she opened the gift and wanted to put them on right away. I took the back off the post and then took them off the card- the post was noticeably bend but not to make them unwearable. I began putting them gently In my daughters ear and the post just came right off the back.
One day later I went to exchange the earrings for another identical pair and was met with quite a bit of resistance despite having the receipt. The store worker had to call his boss over a pair of 17$ dollar earrings!! Insinuating I broke and/bent them (I wasn't asking for my money back! Just a like for like exchange). Reluctantly, and after two calls to his "boss", assumably the owner- the worker and owner finally decided to exchange them for an up charge of 8$. I'm typically not one to squabble over a few dollars, clearly the store clears well over 50x that in a day of sales; but the principle of being so tight, not providing even decent customer service and then up charging is utterly ridiculous and chincy. I found their manners rude and nasty. Even the smallest stores (I'm from very small town KS) I'm used to, gladly do an exchange on defective merchandise because it's the right thing to do!! The owner will get their money back on those earring from their supplier which he/she probably only paid 3-5$ bucks for anyway before they were marked up to sale, and/or those earrings will be repaired and replaced back in store stock to be sold again. Pitiful behavior by a store serving the public. read more
