I am in town for work for five weeks and was hoping to find a massage parlor I could return to consistently. Because I only have Sundays off, I was pleased to find this business open and available on Sunday, January 25. I booked a 60-minute deep tissue massage with a 30-minute foot reflexology session for 7:00 PM. The descriptions on the business's website clearly outline deep tissue massage as using strong pressure to address deeper muscle layers and chronic tension, and foot reflexology as applying pressure to mapped points on the feet. Based on these descriptions and the positive reviews, I had high expectations. I arrived 30 minutes early, completed the intake form in detail, and precisely marked my problem areas on the body diagram provided. I confirmed my services with the front desk before being taken to the massage room. The massage itself was not consistent with a deep tissue massage. After spending an unusually long amount of time working over the sheet, the massage that followed involved extremely light pressure, comparable to a basic back rub. None of the problem areas I clearly marked were addressed at any point. I routinely receive deep tissue massages and understand that they can be uncomfortable at times, but this session never approached that level of pressure or technique. The foot reflexology portion was equally disappointing. I have had reflexology many times and am familiar with the methods used. No pressure was applied to reflex points on the feet; instead, it consisted of very light rubbing that was more ticklish than therapeutic. After the full 90-minute session, I left with no relief whatsoever from the pain and tightness I arrived with. Unfortunately, the services I received did not match what was advertised or what I booked. I want to note that both staff members were professional and polite, and I did not experience any rudeness. However, at a total cost of $166.50 including tip, I expected a properly performed deep tissue massage and foot reflexology session that aligned with the service descriptions. One additional note: while paying upfront is common, I found it uncomfortable to be required to tip before any services were rendered, especially given the outcome. I am disappointed, as I chose this business based on its reviews and service descriptions. I would welcome a response from management and the opportunity to discuss this experience, as I believe the services provided did not reflect the level of care or technique advertised. I hope this feedback helps future clients make an informed decision and helps the business address these inconsistencies.
