We reached out to Connie (I think we called her or submitted a request via her website ) and she responded promptly (she is busy so the initial Zoom meeting may take a couple of weeks). In any event, in all our interactions, Connie was responsive, practical, knowledgeable, efficient and just a lovely person (funny too). I should mention that my spouse and I had a short time frame to revise our revocable family trust (along with wills, advanced directives, and power of attorney) and Connie understood and met our time constraints. One night she sent a draft of the revised trust at 1:30 in the morning. If we reached out to her at 9 in the morning, she'd respond promptly as well (within a couple of hours if that). Connie also understood our questions/concerns and provided clear and concise responses (whether via Zoom or by email). We really appreciated Connie's thoughtfulness, diligence, and assistance. I have recommended Connie to our friends. Btw, Connie's fee structure is very reasonable for the services provided. She is also forthright and, if you ask her, she will just tell you, this is what my services will cost. I do feel the need to rebut the one bad review (JW's review). What a strange review. Why would you want an attorney to provide services in an area in which they lack expertise? To me, JW's review is evidence of Connie's honesty and, quite frankly, JW should be thanking Connie for being ethical (vs some charlatan that responds with pay me and I'll give you advice in an area I know nothing about). As an attorney, the law is complex. You do not want someone to give you advice in area in which they lack expertise (sort of like, you would not want an ophthalmologist to conduct your heart surgery--just saying). Anyhow, an example of Connie's expertise: I go, hey Connie, why did you include this language, seems to limit protection against a wayward trustee who, in theory, could steal the assets of the trust (she gave a precise and clear answer). I do actively dislike critical reviews that are baseless. My personal experience with Connie was excellent. My spouse thought so too.

We had originally tried to start our living trust through law insurance that was supplied by work. The first company we worked with seemed fine but then before we could finish the process, withdrew from the insurance coverage. The second firm started off okay but then we started realizing as we were asking for more detailed customization that they just wanted to fill in the standard template blanks and move on. A lot of the work was handled by staff other than the lawyer and only when we had a more specific question did we get to speak with the lawyer who kind of discouraged us from being so detailed. There were also some typos in emails from the lawyer that just made us raise an eyebrow. We went back the first firm and were willing to pay full price but then got the vibe from the lawyer that templates were very standard and we should not make things so detailed either. Apparently trust mills work this way and they just want to churn you out quickly without really sitting down to address all your questions and specifics and needs or walk you through the legal wording. I felt really lost for a bit and a bit gaslit into thinking we were overthinking our living trust until we talked to Shannon who understood how frustrating it was and made us feel like we definitely COULD customize some things more. We decided to go with her even if it meant paying out of pocket because she took the time to understand our needs and wishes and walked us through all the different parts of the documents in our estate planning. Home Depot is still demanding I pay for the materials, but I do not want to accept that materials as then I would be assuming responsibility for the original contractor's decisions in ordering the material. I will pursue a full refund in small claims court.
