We were dealing with…read morea stressful situation involving a rental property near the beach, and a tenant who was making aggressive demands and threatening legal action. We felt overwhelmed and unsure how to respond, until we met Ashlee. She was patient, reassuring, and incredibly knowledgeable. Ashlee listened closely, asked thoughtful questions, and then laid out a clear plan that protected us and kept the situation from escalating. She has a rare ability to combine legal expertise with practical common sense, and she guided us through every step with confidence and care. Her communication was excellent, her strategy was smart, and she consistently looked out for our best interests. Having her in our corner made all the difference. We also want to acknowledge Kelly Moir, who stepped in seamlessly whenever Ashlee was in court or unavailable. It was genuinely comforting to know that we had a second attorney fully up to speed and ready to jump in without missing a beat. That kind of redundancy, like getting two attorneys for the price of one, gave us peace of mind during a very tense time. Kelly was professional, responsive, and clearly part of a well‑coordinated team. Most importantly, Ashlee (and Kelly) made us feel protected. Instead of feeling bullied by someone who didn't understand the law and was trying to squeeze us for more than was reasonable, we felt supported by people who absolutely knew what they were doing. The final outcome was fair, reasonable, and far better than what we feared at the beginning. We couldn't be more grateful to Ashlee, Kelly, and the entire team at Brewer Offord & Pedersen.

Also, deadlines; don't want it to drag on. Kelly and team were on it from the day I called. Explaining and walking me through. Legal representation is expensive to be sure: but such a relief to have authority when you need it. I learned a lot, and process wrapped up without drama.

Instead, I left feeling like I had paid hundreds of dollars simply to be told that nothing could be done unless I retained the firm. I presented evidence of financial abuse and explained the circumstances surrounding my case, hoping for meaningful advice or direction. Rather than receiving any substantive assistance, I was met with what felt like indifference and a sales pitch for additional legal fees. The message was clear: unless I was prepared to spend even more money, my concerns were not worth addressing. I understand that attorneys are not obligated to represent every client, but charging premium consultation rates while offering virtually no practical guidance is difficult to justify. What made the experience particularly disappointing was the complete lack of empathy. Family law clients are often facing some of the most stressful and financially devastating situations of their lives. A little compassion and professionalism would go a long way. This consultation felt less like a legal service and more like an expensive screening process designed to determine whether additional fees could be collected. I left feeling dismissed, frustrated, and no closer to understanding my legal options than when I arrived. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to ask exactly what they will receive during a paid consultation before spending their money. My experience was that the cost far exceeded the value provided. Better yet just ask CHATGPT yourself save your money.

This firm does not care about their client and here is my story. I chose FKKB because of their…read morewebsite touting their ability to handle high asset and complex divorce matters. My Husband and I had a start-up, formed in 2012, initially headquartered in Walnut Creek, CA. In Fall of 2014, my husband moved our HQ to Denver, CO. With teenagers and aging parents in CA, I had to fly back and forth, while my husband stayed in Denver. Our Company was our ONLY ASSET. In December of 2016, our company received a valuation of $4 billion. I filed for divorce in February 2017 due to a health issue caused by the toll of having to fly back and forth all the time. When I filed, I worked with another firm. But, by June of 2017, I realized that first attorney was out of his depth. Within 4 months of filing, I then switched to FKKB based on my internet search. My husband was an MBA JD, but never practiced law. I told FKKB that he was smart and that they needed to get a jump on him. As soon as I filed, I was fired from our company, which was standard. Instead of a good salary for part-time work, now, I received unemployment in the amount of $2400/mo. With the first Attny my initial spousal support award was $8500/mo, based on my husband's salary of $28,000/month. The Spousal Support order was not 'permanent', but could be modified. Within 6 months of hiring FKKB, my husband permanently stopped paying any spousal support at all, forcing me to move again for the second time since filing. Could FKKB see the error in the support order and move to make it 'permanent'. Nope. During the course of their representation, when FKKB finally requested financial documents from our company in Denver (the only asset we had), we received a letter from Denver counsel that we had no jurisdiction, there. FKKB failed by not immediately getting local Denver Co-Counsel. So the complexity, in part, required action in Denver, which FKKB never asserted. If they are 'sophisticated', they should have anticipated a jurisdictional issue. For the next two years, through a series of strategic maneuvers, my husband outplayed FKKB and dumped our company into the bankruptcy court in April of 2019, just so I would get nothing. He continues to work, but now has a newly formed company, of which I am not a part. That was the objective. I told FKKB what he would do. I was married to him for 17 years. I knew his M.O. In the end, I got nothing. Even the $250,000 in spousal support arrears were erased, because they were not made permanent. Though I am not sure a 'permanent' order would have solidified the arrears, I think it would have been harder to erase them, especially since he never filed anything to reduce them. I spent all I had on these attorneys, which might not seem like a lot of money, but with no support, I spent $165,000 in fees to FKKB. I ran out of money in December of 2018. In my last meeting with FKKB, Partner Rolf Kruger said to me that my husband was the worst guy he'd ever seen, and that if I wanted to get my millions, I should just write a book. So my husband, who is not certified in family law, and never practiced law, was much more sophisticated in a divorce matter than FKKB. My husband out-maneuvered FKKB. So what does 'Complex' mean on their website? To me, 'complex' means, 'no matter where the money is hidden, even internationally, we'll find it and get it.' How good were they? What did I get for $165,000? Not one thing. At 60, I returned to the job market just to pay my bills. In June of 2020 I had to represent myself in an in-person, 8-hour divorce trial. I phoned FKKB to ask if they would please read my trial brief, which I had written, and I would pay them for their time. I spoke to Rolf Kruger. He said, "No, we're done with this matter". Nice. I would never recommend this firm. They only cared about earning fees, and never took my best interest to heart . As a client, I am smart, respectful, and deferential. I am not unstable. I don't take any prescription drugs. I was not bothersome to them, except that even I could see how inadequate their representation was, especially with regard to Colorado, and tried to convey the urgency. My warnings fell on deaf ears, and my worst fears were realized.
