He hated being dropped off and would show an urgency anytime I came to pick him up. This wasn't his first experience with daycare either. At his previous school, he never had an issue with being dropped off. A large part of my frustration with this school and our experience is that many of the staff don't seem well equipped to work with kids or know how to manage age-appropriate behaviors. The school's app allows you to see video footage of your kids throughout the day, and I saw one of the older teachers (Teacher Juielta) in my sons class yank a toddler by the arm. I witnessed that same teacher grab a kid by the face and yell at him. If I'm watching this happen to other kids, using the system they encourage parents to use, it was most likely happening to my son too. From what I gathered from parents who still take their kids there, that teacher is still working in that classroom. This kind of behavior towards toddlers is unacceptable. I couldn't keep my son in that classroom as I watched his peers get manhandled by an older teacher. There was also an very explicit tension between some of the staff that was unprofessional and inappropriate. It was common to hear and witness staff yelling at each other over their walkie-talkies, staff who would blatantly ignores questions or requests from other staff, and at one point an argument occurred in front of kids that forced me and some other parents to bring it up to leadership. We only attended the school for 3 months and we fortunately were able to take our kids somewhere else! I would give this a 1 out of 5 staffs but there were a couple of positive things about the school that I just couldn't ignore. Pros: the kids and families we met; Teachers Jo and JoJo were great to partner with when working with my kids. Cons: accountability for complaints of staff, immature interactions between staff in front of kids, and abusive behaviors towards toddlers.

My daughter started here when she turned one, and as a nervous first-time mom, being able to get updates throughout the day on her naps, meals, and potty breaks made all the difference. Ms. Athinia and Ms. Gabby are great and quick with communications or requests. We felt like we were heard and they truly care for our daughter's wellbeing. She has truly loved her teachers -- Ms. Royce, Ms. Rekha, Ms. Patty, and Ms. Madi -- who have been so caring, patient, and kind. You can tell they really love what they do, and it shows in how happy and comfortable my daughter has been here. We're only leaving because we're moving, and the commute would be too far. This place has set the standard for what a daycare should be, and we can only hope our new one will be just as wonderful.

My son came to Academy on the Hills after we made the very difficult decision to leave another preschool due to a really horrible experience. Because of what he had gone through, he had a pretty hard adjustment when he first started at Academy. It took some time for him to feel comfortable and trust that he was in a safe and positive environment. Within just a few weeks, though, we saw such a huge change in him. He was happy, comfortable, learning, and truly thriving. The teachers have been absolutely wonderful. One of the things I appreciate most is how much they communicate with us. We receive daily updates about what the kids learned, along with pictures, and I love getting those little glimpses into his day. It makes such a difference as a parent to know what your child is doing and learning while they are away from you. The structure of the program has also been a huge positive for my son. He does really well with routine and structure, and Academy provides exactly that. There is a great balance of learning, activities, and consistency, and I have really watched him grow since being there. And I have to give a special shoutout to Ms. Monica. She is incredible. She makes sure everything is running the way it should, but more importantly, it is so obvious how genuinely much she loves the children. I never feel like my son is just another child who attends the preschool. She knows him, cares about him, and truly wants the best for him. That means so much to us as parents. After the experience we had at his previous preschool, finding Academy on the Hills was such a blessing. Where do I even begin...the ladies that work here are complete GEMS…read more My family is so incredibly lucky to have found and chose Ms. Atosa's school for my daughter back in 2022 (she is now 5 years old in Kindergarten). Because of their wonderful care, it was no doubt that I would send my son here as well (who is now 2 years old son and has also been under their care he was 9 months old). This school offers everything that working parents need - flexible hours and breakfast/snacks/lunch (so rare). All of this coupled with a Montessori curriculum and very competitive pricing - it's a win-win-win! This business is a tough business and it's impossible to make everyone happy but Ms. Atosa goes above and beyond to make sure everyone is safe and cared for. If you have any recommendations or concerns, Ms. Atosa listens carefully and does everything in her power to address it. I always feel so comfortable when approaching her with any of my needs. My daughter who is now in Kindergarten is now excelling in school because of their pre-school program. The teachers have taught them very well in all areas of math, reading and even behaviorally so they are more than prepared going into Kindergarten. Although we still have a few more years to go, I'm already sad for the day that my son will graduate from Ms. Atosa's program.

Old and dated, revolving door of teachers, sickness, and bad habits…read more Our daughter has been attending this school for about a year. Throughout this time, she has had countless teachers in both the infant and toddler rooms. This place seriously lacks stability, and seemingly leadership making the right decisions to retain teachers. During her time in the infant class, our daughter was bitten NUMEROUS times. We never made it too big of a deal, understanding this was quite normal for little ones, especially while teething and not being able to properly express themselves. We didn't think too much of it. Fast forward a few months, and now it was our daughter on the other end of the biting. When it happened, we would have a conversation with the teacher about the why/when, and what was done to reinforce that it wasn't okay. Again, it didn't seem like it was a big deal as we had been on the other end of it before. It was extremely uncommon for her to bite friends/family, so we didn't have a ton of opportunities to try to reinforce these actions at home. Being that she was enrolled full time, they certainly had more hands-on time when it comes to biting other kids than we ever could have. Jump to today, our daughter was kicked out of school for biting. No official warning, no offense countdown, no suspension, just kicked out. This is 2-weeks after my wife suffered a random seizure, cannot drive, and we are 2-weeks away from an out-of-state move. All of which they are aware of. Now we have no daycare, I am the sole care for my wife and now child, in a semi-packed home. They made a rash, one-sided decision, without reasonable communication and resolution, because they do not care and we were one foot out the door. Her teacher didn't even know my daughter was being kicked out, it was apparently Atosa's decision. This was a habit she picked up at this school! Kids will be kids, and we don't feel that the teachers did enough to deter or redirect these actions for our child and others. If the turnover wasn't so high, perhaps they'd have quality relationships between teachers and children to better facilitate bad habits like these. When your business is built around bad habits to begin with, I can't say I'm shocked that you took the easy way out with my child.

I had the opportunity to come back and work there part-time, which only deepened my appreciation for everything they do. The teacher truly cares about what she does. She's patient, very hands-on, and gives each child individual attention.
