Swim labs has a great facility for swimmers with different abilities to practice side by side. They use the infinity pools, so the speed can be changed for each swimmer in their individual swimming tub. My kids really enjoy swimming there, and appreciate the option to challenge themselves with higher speeds they wouldn't be able to achieve in a regular pool. read more

We have had a great experience with swimlabs. We see an improvement in our 3 year old daughters swimming abilities after every class. Our goal was for her to be water safe and the coaches here have helped us achieve that goal. Even though she knows how to swim now, we have decided to keep her in because we see how beneficial proper swimming techniques are for her endurance and breath control in the water. Our first and last experience with Swim Labs was frustrating and extremely disappointing. I spoke with Lauren on April 13 and booked semi-private lessons for my daughter and son starting on May 2 at 2 pm which was confirmed in email. My son has developmental disabilities and I specifically chose them because they state that they accommodate those with different needs and do private lessons. I prepared my son for the past 2 weeks that we are starting swimming lessons and what it would entail. We are driving 30 minutes away from Costa Mesa. When we arrived the receptionist asked for names and then said we aren't on her schedule and just walked away. I showed her my confirmation email and she tried to point out the lesson ended May 30 and I reminded her today is May 2. When we went to the desk she said she has no record of our lesson and Morgan doesn't even work there anymore. She asked if we can come tomorrow, which we can't because we work, or then May 8. At that point I was so annoyed that I just declined. Because we prepared my son so much for the anticipation of swimming lessons, he then continued to cry and be distraught for nearly 2 hours that he wanted to do swimming lessons so needless to say that was not fun and I felt awful for the disappointment and confusion he experienced. I'm not sure where the disconnect or lack of communication happened - did they not remember or just not bother to cancel all of the instructor's classes when she left? It was such a frustrating experience driving all the way from Costa Mesa to be turned away with screaming kids. read more

We have been coming here for the last 6 months. After trying many swim schools and making no progress, we found one that actually made a difference for our kid. I asked our kid what she liked about this school and she stated that her instructor is kind, encouraging, makes her feel safe and listens to her concerns. Our kid has always been very nervous about being in the water and putting her head in the water was something we couldn't get to do even after swim lessons on and off over the last few years. Now, she's suddenly swimming, diving under the water, floating on her back and loves the water. We've had a couple of different instructors, but have been with Leila for a while now. She's amazing and my kids loves her. We are thankful for her. The place is small and I was hesitant about the set up when we first started, but it's indoors and the pools are heated, my kids like this. Most of the staff is great. We've only encountered one unpleasant staff member, luckily we hardly ever see her or have to deal with her. Lauren at the front desk is very sweet, always helpful, kind, and welcoming. I have dealt with her many times for schedule changes, concerns, etc., she's the best! The only issues we've had have been that there are 3 pools and 2 changing rooms, this can be tricky when everyone starts and ends their sessions at the same time and there aren't enough rooms to change in. Our other issues were mostly covid related as the waiting area is small and some people in there didn't comply with the masks mandate very well. Our last issue was with the rude unpleasant staff member we've dealt with a couple of times, but again... luckily we've only seen her a couple of times. Overall. We've enjoyed coming here. read more

Front reception was awesome with scheduling; they helped book my son into a weekly package for private lessons. The coaching staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. They have several ex-Olympian and NCAA athletes on their coaching staff. If you're looking to learn from the best, this is the place to go. I had the privilege of meeting the location manager, who used to be an elite NCAA swimmer on the USA Swimming National Team! Unless you do private your child will only get about 7 minutes of actual swim time which isn't enough to do anything. The pool size also is way too small. If you had a very young child or one that was just learning to swim it would be okay but otherwise it's not realistic and it's like swimming in a big hot tub. I found the Lessons to be very basic. My child knows the basics and we were looking for something to take them to the next level and this was not it. read more

Swimming pools are not heated we asked staff why the water was so cold and they were clueless my kids refused to continue swimming and as soon as we put them in there they started shivering and crying. Due to this reason we decided to cancel and unfortunately we cancelled 1 day before the deadline and were told we would have to pay the next month so ridiculous! and they had the audacity to say feel free to bring them in since you paid for that month why would we do that? We have been visiting SwimLabs for over three years. I have four competitive swimmers and they have each benefitted from their sessions. We started here in desperation, my daughter was 3 seconds from CIF auto times in her IM. After one session she dropped 10 seconds, she went on to drop 21 total and made it to finals. Megan knows my kids' habits & does a great job fixing the bad ones while supporting better ones. My kids consistently drop seconds after their sessions. In a sport where milliseconds matter, Swimlabs is worth every penny. read more

My two daughters have been coming to SwimLabs for almost a year now and we couldn't be happier. We've tried another swim school before as well as private lessons but SwimLabs has been the best experience thus far. First off the facility is great. You can watch your kids swim from the waiting room through the glass wall or via the camera/screens that each of the 3 pools have. Secondly, the pools are indoors so classes are independent on the weather whereas other locations or private lessons are difficult year round. Lastly, all the coaches and staff are friendly courteous. I'd also like to mention specifically, Coach Evan and Coach Asami. Coach Even has been my eldest daughter's coach for the majority of her time there and she has made leaps and bounds with her ability and confidence to swim. She has gone through gymnastic and dance classes but we have stopped all of those as she says this is her favorite extra curricular activity. Our youngest daughter's coach, Coach Asami, has been very patient as our daughter is at an age where she is sometimes reluctant to leave home to go to swim class but as soon as we're there and she sees her coach she has a great time. Every time after each class they express how much fun they had. We as parents are very happy about this as we really want them to be strong swimmers as well believe it is a life skill they should know. read more

My 5 year old daughter is thriving at SwimLabs! Back story: we used another swim school in the past and my daughter almost drowned under their tutelage, which scared the daylights out of her and reversed any swim progress she was making. We let 6 months pass, checked out SwimLabs. Key points the made me choose them: - 3 foot pools, kid can touch the ground and not fear - very comfortable warm water, my daughter had complained that she hated swim classes before because the water was too cold - shorter pools with a "water river" in each, to create an infinity swim environment - top and underwater cameras, used to train the world class athletes who come through but also great for this mom to see my kid's form as well - teaching staff was EXTREMELY accomplished: numerous Olympic Games instructors, D1 and pro swim/triathetes, special needs specialists as well! It's been 7 months with SwimLabs and my daughter has developed into a real swim lover and little athlete, able to do all four strokes, ready for swim team enrollment. Swimlabs in Lake Forest has thw worst customer service and make up policy. Today my son had a lesson scheduled at 4pm, his camp went to Knotts today and they were not getting back until 5pm. I called and left a message and someone called me back and told me he could come at 530pm. I called back to confirm and thought all is well until they called me back again to say that indeed no he was.not eligible for a make up class. We have been swimming there for four months and May was a busy month which we only used one of the five Thursdays we had paid for. June another busy month and we did do one make up class however to switch times on the same day doesnt seem like a valid policy to me. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

We love swimlabs. We started 5 months ago and come twice a week. My 3yo daughter had no sense of pool safety, couldn't swim, couldn't float, wouldn't put her head under the water, etc. She can now swim independently, loves swimming, and hopes to be on a swim team one day. All of the teachers she's had have been amazing. They know what they're doing and are great with kids. There are three small pools with only one class per pool which has been great for our daughter with minor hearing loss who had struggled to hear swim instructors at other swim places. We have been coming here for a few months now. They have TV monitors where you can see your child swim and watch their strokes. My daughter was afraid to even get into the water the first lesson. Now, she is so excited to come for her lessons. We have had several instructors and they were all great. Evan is really good with my daughter and she has excelled in her backstroke and freestyle. Asami has introduced my 8 year old son to the butterfly stroke. We have also had Victoria, JC, Kiana, and Megan teach both our kids. You can't go wrong with any of them.
