This was truly 5-star service and one part of the trip I didn't have to worry about at all. The vehicles were clean and comfortable, communication was clear, and everything ran exactly on time. It was worth every penny compared to mass transit or other ride services. What really set them apart was their customer service. When we were dropped off at the airport, my son accidentally left his phone in the car. Umar went out of his way to drive all the way back around and personally return the phone to us--no hesitation, no attitude, just genuine care and professionalism. In order to do this, I had to first make an account and share my card details. Ok cool. After going through that process and booking the screen is buffering and says its finding my ride. After about 11 minutes waiting for an update, I decided to call to check on my ride status. The dispatcher cut me off mis sentence to have me repeat all the trip info again, then quoted me a fare that was 7 dollars higher than what i pre booked on the app. I had the screenshot of the fare , and let the dispatcher know what I was quoted online. He interrupted me to say "well idk if they're going to take the trip" you mean the trip that THEY set the price for to begin with ? So I ask him if I pay the 20$ what is the drivers eta he puts me on hold, i wait 5 more minutes and he picks up the phone thinking im a new customer. When Ask him about the driver eta about the new fare he hangs up on me. Please save yourself the time. DO NOT give these guys your card details. I was trying my hardest not to use uber and support local businesses instead. This isnt one of the safe ones at all.

Four dollars cheaper for a drive that couldn't even been two miles, but I'll be generous and say two and a half miles. A more modern car than Four Ones picked me after the end of the evening. Quick point: As soon as I hopped into Four Ones heading out, the driver went on and on about some great day gig he had and was doing it as a favor, something along those lines. His loud tone and regular head turns to look at me while cruising down Metro didn't thrill me. Quiet, courteous soft spoken driver got me home and in two shakes of the cats tail, I was home and on my pillow.

I have to admit, it wasn't looking good when after waiting twenty minutes for the car to come, they told me that their guy was stuck in traffic. I'm getting nervous because my flight is in a little over an hour at LGA. We clearly have an issue here. Here's where the boys over at McGuinness step up, they send their dispatcher in his personal car! I was VERY relieved and impressed. Needless to say, I've added them to my phone book and will for certain be using them in the future. Traffic was bad, but my man got me to the airport in time. However, I can't give them a good review in light of my recent (dangerous, terrifying) experience. Bit of a background: I've taken McGuinness car service maybe 30 times now. Most of the time they're really prompt, arriving within 5 minutes or less. Impressive. Most drivers are quite friendly, though your mileage may vary - their grasp on English seems tenuous at best. I speak Polish, so my experience with them is inherently different, obv. They're cheap and the cars are usually clean. Last week, however, I had an experience that's made me reconsider calling McGuinness ever again. The driver arrived promptly, as per usual. I'd never had him pick me up before. He seemed jittery, wiggly, anxious to get going. I can't make assessments about his sobriety, but his behavior gave me pause. I should've got out of the car right then and there. Well, since I didn't, I was treated to THE SCARIEST CAR RIDE OF MY ENTIRE DAMN LIFE. I am talking Grand Theft Auto style, maniacal, psychotic driving. Going 90 on the Williamsburg bridge (edit to clarify: it was late at night) Bullying other cars to an extent I'd never seen before, nearly causing numerous accidents. All while blasting 80s anthemic rock, for an extra horrific twist. I've been in cars with reckless drivers before, but this was different. I honestly thought my life would soon come to a violent, fiery end, and though I'm not religious, I did utter a few silent prayers. For the record - I asked him to slow down, repeatedly, and reiterated that I'm in no hurry. To no avail. We got from North Greenpoint to the LES in... record time. 10 minutes, if that. I exited the car nauseous, shaking. TL;DR - fine in most cases. If your driver is the long-haired guy, RUN FOR YOUR LIFE.

I was told that the fare was $40 to which i agreed to pay. The driver arrived on time and took me to Penn Station where I quickly produced my credit card to pay him. The driver flew into rage mode and demanded cash as this company does not deal in credit cards. No one advised me that it was cash only and while I tried to explain this the driver was Hispanic and seemingly spoke very very limited english. all that I could discern was that i rode knowingly that it was cash, and I did not have the money. there were no signs in his car announcing that this was cash only. he attempted to seize my laptop to get his money...the ride was $40 and I had $30 but his rage grew, and he parked his car and kept saying ATM. He talked to the local field NYPD who also spoke Spanish and left his car unattended to insist that i walk until i found an atm. the first one i found was broken; i kept walking with him on my heels speaking in Spanish and i growing more fearful because he was behind me. I finally found an atm, got $20 and asked for my $10 back in exchange for the $20 but he refused and got a 22% tip for horrific and terrifying service. I have no receipt for my $50 and cannot file a claim to be reimbursed. Grateful to have my life so the loss of $50 is really a small price to pay. I would never ever use this service again. Furthermore, I strongly have recommended that the elected official who recommended this company never use them again for any reason not even a dire emergency. I recognize that a few companies may deal in cash only but how unsafe is it to transport people and have cash on them jeopardizing lives and creating the likelihood that these employees will be robbed! Perhaps this company should reevaluate their procedures as trips can be in excess of $100 and who travels with that much cash on hand? My yellow cab trip to the college was $91 and the driver gladly accepted my credit card.
