Four Ones to my destination, Fenix had the return ride home. As to time frame, both were in a close proximity, time wise---that being--late... Four dollars cheaper for a drive that couldn't even been two miles, but I'll be generous and say two and a half miles. A more modern car than Four Ones picked me after the end of the evening. Quick point: As soon as I hopped into Four Ones heading out, the driver went on and on about some great day gig he had and was doing it as a favor, something along those lines. His loud tone and regular head turns to look at me while cruising down Metro didn't thrill me. wanted to update my experience with this company. 1st the drivers are not the issue here they have been great for every trip I've taken. I have a disabled daughter that I am constantly taking her to appts twice a week minimum round trips. They have a service called (Medical trips) that is simply just paid for by insurance.. no actual medical help needed nor a course the driver has to take. It is the same as a regular taxi trip except its labeled (Medical). I used them for about 3wks without major issues then they did me and my daughter wrong. I had my usual appt set up for 9am pick up at 9 I call the base and they state they are still looking for a medical pick up driver?.. as I said the only thing that makes it medical trip is how its paid for thats it.. so I still wait... 30 mins go by I call same story they basicallysaid they have NO CARS. I had 2 friends call for a (regular trip) to the same destination and cars were available in 5 mins for both of them. That was discrimination on their part!!! My daughter missed a very important appointment due to fenix not doing what there supposed to do... taxi customers to there destination!! It doesn't matter how you get paid?? But yet they will pick up drunk rude sloppy people cuz its a regular ride?? This is the worst kind of discrimination... I have been a respectable patient customer to your establishment while you were getting at least $200 a week from my trips only. So let me start by saying this is the second time this has happened to me. They tell you 5 minutes and then if they're overbooked or busy they tell you that they called you and you didn't answer or they were there and you weren't outside both times complete BS.. last time the dispatcher told me that he called my phone and I told him that I didn't need a car which is just utterly ridiculous why would I call the car service if I didn't need a car in the first place. The female dispatcher is nasty and disrespectful instead of apologizing for her mistake yesterday she tells me bye and hangs up on me this is not the way a professional car service is supposed to conduct themselves they are not a professional they are a bunch of non English speaking people who give each other dispatch calls and outsource to other car services because they can't handle the volume of course they get I don't recommend calling this car service for anybody unless you want to get aggravated or you want to be late to where you're going. read more

They came an hour late. The driver then got pulled over for driving down the wrong side of the road!!!! We are sitting in his car while he is pulled over while our flight is boarding. Whoever arranged this ride for us at the hotel said we could play by card and when we got to the airport, the driver then got into a fight with us because we did not have Zelle to pay him. I asked a guy to take me from Glendale to Richmond Hill. I was told it was going to be $18.00. It seemed a bit steep for such a short ride. since I've taken the same cab from Middle Village to Williamsburg, and that was $18. I asked the driver to call it in to dispatch to please make sure. He was reluctant, so I insisted. He finally did and I found out that the call was $13. Well would you look at that! a whopping $5. difference. Chuckleheads... Had a bad feeling when i called these clowns 2 days in advance of my reservation. "10 am on Saturday, family of 5 to EWR airport". They seems to struggle with the simplicity of what I asked for. Really? Aren't you a car service? Point A to point B at a specific time. I've used Fenix 6 times now including trips to the airport, Penn Station and other parts of the outer boroughs. They've always been on time, including when I needed them in a hurry. Every driver I've had has bee professional, polite and gone out of their way to make the trip easier (e.g. stopping at ATMs, turning down a loud radio). 5 STARS FOR BEING THE MOST INCOMPETENT CAR SERVICE IN ALL OF NYC. 1 STAR FOR EVERYTHING ELSE. Please, I implore you, don't waste your money. These people have consistently let me down, but this last time took the cake. I was trying to go to my friend's birthday party and was supposed to pick her up. It was absolutely freezing that night...I specifically asked for a mini van to so all of my friends have room, but 10 minutes after dispatch told me my van would be at my apt, I see a sedan outside. Driver tells me it's the dispatcher's fault, and when I call them, the dude tells me it's the driver's fault. Are you fucking serious?! Oh, but it gets worse! I asked the dispatcher to have a MINI VAN waiting for us at my friend's place because she had 2 more girls with her. They said "yes, yes, of course!"...but when I show up, there's no mini van anywhere. We stood around for over an hour waiting for this damn thing to show up, and every time I called the company back, they got ruder and nastier. Kept saying "five minutes." Clearly, other people here agree. These people don't know how to run a business. OH, and they overcharge LIKE CRAZY!!! I just used this once, to get from Ridgewood to LaGuardia, and the whole experience was quick and straightforward. I only had to wait about five minutes for a car to show up after calling, and there was a flat rate for LaGuardia. The driver was polite and said no tips, but he did charge me $2 extra to use my credit card instead of cash. The cost to get there may have been a little more than a cab, but the experience seemed more hassle-free than using a cab, so it was probably worth it. read more

This car service we use often to get us from Ridgewood, NY in Queens to Manhattan. They are always on time with friendly, safe drivers. The only reason I didn't give it the extra star is that they don't call to tell you when they have arrived. This car service would be smart to focus on getting traffic from JFK as my friend was ripped off by paying $65 (double the price) to get to our location. Both the airport and the city should be doing more to ban services that are operating illegally. read more

I asked for a taxi to pay with credit card and at the end of the trip, the drivers told me , They didn't have the machine to charge me with credit card. When I told them about going to my house the They after to get paid, they took the machine off to charge me. They've also charged me more than the regular cost a trip, several times. The only drawback in using the app is they don't quote you a price before booking the car. The other negative is there is no consistency to their pricing. Drivers are often non-conversational or downright belligerent. People at the Seneca office are friendly and accommodating. Until today, Fenix has been a decent car service that says in 5min but takes way longer. My sister, pregnant 4months and with a 11 month child, was picked up at my home in Glendale. It's 29 degrees and feels like 10. The taxi driver drove her to East NY and told her 10 blck away from her home that he did not like to go any further. She pleaded with the driver and told him that she was pregnant. He refused to go further and offered to return to the pick up destination (my home)!! He also charged her the FULL fare with no regrets! I can only imagine how many times this driver has repeated this offense. I will file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of NY. Only imagine if this was your wife and child. As always companies tend to hire incompetent individuals and unless someone acts, they will continue this abuse. read more

I remember the good ol' days of Fenix where they came in actually 5 minutes as they always say on the phone. I have been using Fenix for years now and it has got to the point where they are no longer what they were back in the day. I am a VERY patient and understanding person but I can't deal with them anymore. The 4 out of 5 times I have called them in the past 2 weeks I have had an issue. Yes, I gave them 5 chances! It was the same issue every time as well. "Your cab will be there in 5-7 minutes"... 15 minutes pass by and I call the dispatcher where I have to wait 3 minutes on hold and he had the nerve to say "One second" when I asked how much longer will I have to wait for the cab and PUT ME ON HOLD for another 5 minutes and not give me a response! This same situation essentially panned out the same the other times I had issues too. Customer service is a huge factor and avoiding the customer is not a way to deal with things. I spoke to my cab driver about the situation and he was saying how he was waiting by a location nearby me hoping for a call... something is not adding up here but there's no way I can give a honest tip to the driver if I waited over 20 minutes, I'm sorry for them. I never looked at these reviews before but it seems like this is too common of an occurrence. I live in Ridgewood and started using this car service regularly because they are literally at your door in minutes BUT i slowly and surely realized that prompt service isn't ALL THAT! I walked down to their dispatch office to PAY FOR AND GET A RECEIPT for a roundtrip fare from Fresh Meadows Queens to Manhattan for my parents.....they charged me in total $70. whatever, it was for my parents so i PAID in full and made it completely known that it was VERY important they get picked up ON TIME so they could attend their show in the city. i filled out a slip that was given to me with addresses and times and everything.....the following day my mom calls me that a car never showed at the requested time....I CALL AND LITERALLY SPENT THE NEXT 40 MINUTES BEGGING FOR SOMEONE TO SEND A CAR....they accused me of LYING and said they had NO RECEIPT of my supposed payment!! needless to say when they FINALLY found the receipt of my payment and sent a car....my parents were LATE for their show !! i didnt learn my lesson because after months of banning them I called them once again to pay by credit card over the phone for a car for my girlfriend......they told me NOOO problem! call us back with your card info when you are ready. car arrives, my girlfriend hops in and car takes off! i call with card info as told earlier and they proceed to tell me NO....you MUST be in the car to make payment. i explain that i was paying for someone else and they tell me thats not allowed!! LOL!!! huh??? can you believe that they instructed the driver to bring my girlfriend BACK home!!! then to make matters even worse!! they had the nerve to offer me a DEAL....they'd take my credit card payment over the phone as a "favor" but i needed to pay them an additional $5! Yes, they say five minutes and they literally come in five minutes to pick you up, but speedy service isn't enough to make me give them a rating higher than 1 star. They are the most expensive car service in the area. Total and complete rip off. A ride tonight from Ridgewood to Middle Village(not even deep into Middle Village!) cost $14.00. No matter who the dispatcher is, it's ALWAYS expensive. Also in my experience I've always gotten drivers who don't know where the hell they are going. That was no different tonight. What should have been a five minute ride tonight turned out to be 20 minutes. So ridiculous. Then when I told him he was going the wrong way he copped an attitude and got all pissy. Dude, you're a cab driver! I shouldn't have to give you directions. You should know where you're going. Or even have a GPS. If not, then you're in the wrong profession. When he said that he knew where he was now and I didn't have to show him, he STILL was going to go the wrong way. Tool. I don't even know how or where to start with this review... I guess a little background info on me. I'm a usual passenger of "Fenix Car Service". I take a cab to work & for errands at least 4-6 times a week. Have been a consistent passenger since around Feb 2015. With that being said I think I've developed a well rounded judgement on this car service as a whole. Don't get me wrong my experiences has been more good than bad but my last experience is definitely making me consider looking for a different car service to use for my every day run arounds.... Today, I called for a cab at the usual time At 9:30 AM, I always request to pay with a credit card because the truth is I never carry cash on me. (bad habit on my part, i know) but whatever I always do that exactly the same. Call at that time, request to pay with a credit card. I get told no problem 5 minutes. Fine. I get my stuff together & step out my door. The 5 minutes were up but I just waiting a couple extra minutes because I figured they were just running late. 5 more minutes go by, no sign of my cab so I call the dispatcher to check on the status of car. I get put on hold for 4 minutes, then get told it should be here in 2 minutes. Fine. I've already waited 5 extra minutes, 2 more isn't gonna kill me. I wait the 2 minutes, again no cab in sight. I wait an extra 3...maybe they're really busy....NOTHING. I call the dispatcher AGAIN. I get told it'll be another 2 minutes. At this point I'm super annoyed because it's 9:56 AM, I waited 20 minutes for a cab & was now going to be extremely late to work. FINALLY, 2 minutes later my cab shows up. We arrive at my destination & it's time for me to be charged my fare. I go to hand the driver my credit card & he gives me this dumb look. Says that he doesn't have the credit card machine. I'm FURIOUS now. I tell him so I waiting 20 MINUTES for a damn cab for you to tell me you don't have the machine to charge me!!!? I told him I thought that's why it took so long because they were looking for someone who took credit cards. He had the NERVE to tell me "you waited 20 minutes? there were so many cars parked outside the base." Making me feel even worse because then I started to think that they probably didn't even send the cab until the 2nd or 3rd time I called! He calls the dispatcher so she can charge my card from where she was & she tells me that the machines aren't working! Now I'm just questioning if this is actually really happening right now! So I'm on the phone with them 3 TIMES & now is when they decide to mention this to me?!! So I get told if I can go to an ATM & take out cash...the closest ATM was a bit up ahead from where the car was & he couldn't back up because of the buses (it started to rain) so I told him just go back around & go to the from of the mall & i'll give you the money. I go the ATM to take out $20, get charged a $3.00 fee plus an extra fee of $2.50 that my bank was going to charge me. I turn to look for the car & no where to be seen......I honestly was already half an hour late to work, I wanted to just say f*ck and go to work since i was already 35 minutes late at this point....but I just couldn't do that. Called the dispatcher AGAIN. This time so she can call the driver to go to where I was so he could get paid. To conclude this review...I waited 20 minutes for a cab, was 40 minutes late to work, got charged $5.50 on my card from these ATM fees & will no longer resort to Fenix for any of my transporting. I called in 3 times them where do I live when I specifically said its 3 times in what number and intersecting streets but the person kept on hanging up and saying 4 minutes and I called in another service guess who showed up first .. This is the most trash service you can get from any car service. Not all but there are certain drivers that will charge you one price, then when you disagree with the pricing they will supposedly call the "base" and ask them what the "real price" is and they'll charge you even more than what you already supposedly owe them. If you ever get a driver named Evelyn (Plate # T664748C) boycott Fenix because she will violate the price for no reason and claim you're being "slick" and threaten to bring you to the cops for not paying a price that doesn't make sense to pay. If I could give this rating a 0 I would but it is just a disgrace for a car service. Do not call Fenix. You're better off calling an Uber or Lyft read more

Recently I call for a car 20 minutes pass I call the base one of the female dispatcher's answer chewing in my ear leaves me on hold for 5 minutes I hang up call back and it's the same game. I have never had this issue with them. One of the drivers told me call a hour before what kind of sense does that make.
