He went above and beyond in making sure that the quality of work was one he could be proud of. Client satisfaction is definitely big with him and our tenants (at 2 properties), all reported back praising his professionalism and attention to detail. He was also very punctual and kept me and the tenants updated of his moves whenever he had to leave and go and get supplies/material to complete work and then return to the site. He also sends you photos of the work once it is complete to make sure that you like the end product before he leaves. He seems overall to be a hardworking man committed to doing good work and providing for his family without charging you an arm and a leg for services rendered. Our last handyman was unreliable and would keep switching schedules on us or would be a no-show after we had already scheduled maintenance requests with tenants. That is completely unprofessional and that is why we opted to try someone new and so far we are excited with Cody and hope to use him on future handy work projects. It is extremely important for us that we find that one go to person the tenants can get to know because there are times we ask tenants to provide entry to unit for these repairs and it's important that they get familiar with one person versus many different people coming in and out of the unit. We will definitely be using Cody again. Attached are photos of some work he did to help fix a couple of issues; a window that needed to be repaired and a threshold that was causing trouble with the door opening and shutting.

    R. A. Stephens - Kitchen cabinets by Rudy!

Rudy Stephens is a one man whirlwind. We were lucky enough to hire him for a big renovation on a…read moresmall house. He was clear about what he doesn't do (no electrical work). But he does *almost* everything (construction, screen porch installation, removing and replacing sections of walls, installing flooring & molding, he even built us a closet). And Rudy does an EXCELLENT job of everything he sets his hands to. His van is like Mary Poppins' umbrella: anything you need for a job, he pulls out of there. Somehow that van carries what would normally fit on a five ton truck! Does the house need a power wash? He has a washer in the truck. Need to trim a long piece of lumber? He has a variety of power saws. Missing a strange vintage fitting for a doorknob? Unbelievably, he has the right one. Rudy was extremely patient with my overly detailed plans and questions. He was willing to discuss issues that arose and find solutions together that fit within our budget. If you want to remodel your kitchen, you'll LOVE the cabinets Rudy installs. They're solid wood and much higher quality (& cheaper!) than what you'll find at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. The doors and drawers are soft-close and the wooden details are gorgeous! Another advantage of working with Rudy is his relationship with other vendors. When two local vendors wanted me to accept sub-par work, I mentioned that Rudy thought it was sub-par, too. Both vendors immediately changed their tune and corrected the problem. In retrospect, I wish I'd had Rudy oversee the entire job, hiring labor and other contractors. He does this for a small percentage of the budget. I'd recommend you save yourself the headaches of any big job by having Rudy run things. He seems to always make the right decision so let him make them! Rudy prefers a straightforward To Do list which he prices by item. I found this to be *very* helpful for making budgeting decisions. His individual prices were always fair - perhaps because he works so quickly. I paid half up front and half upon completion of each stage of the work. The *only* problem you'll have with Rudy is he's so busy! You might have to wait for him to be available. But trust me, he's worth the wait!
