I've been going to New Town Dentistry for a few years now and I'll say that I'm happy that Dr Wolfe is my dentist! The staff are fantastic from Deidre at the front desk, to Anna who has been my hygienist for the past few times. I travel often for work and since appointments are made 6 months out, some times those conflict. No worries, Deidre will text me with last min openings. I had a crown the Dr Wolfe put in when I first started going. In my appointment in the spring, he noticed an issue with the crown (I would never have known) and he replaced it under warranty! Wow! I have had lots of dental work in the past. My work changes insurance a lot and so I have gone to several dentist in the Charlotte area, including Fort Mill, Huntersville, Central Charlotte. I moved to Waxhaw and Dr. Wolfe came highly recommended on the WhatsApp Waxhaw Facebook page. New town Dentist is the best that I've ever been to. Dr. Wolfe will take a procedure that should be an hour and make it 30 minutes or less. All of the staff are just absolutely amazing when it comes to doing their jobs and even the front office staff. Last year my insurance changed again, but I would rather go and pay out-of-pocket hundreds of dollars and then get reimbursed months later so that I can stay in the care of Dr. Wolfe and his staff. read more

I will never return to this dentist. First appt: A technician took full x-rays of every kind that would normally be taken in a dental clinic, and I met and talked with Dr. Wolfe about some painful sensitivity in my teeth. He then checked teeth for receding gums, and I was asked to fill out a questionnaire regarding what I like or dislike about my teeth or smile. The questionnaire put up a red-flag simply because I felt this was along the lines of a cosmetic dentistry as opposed to a dentist whose main concern is the health of your teeth and gums. When it was clear that the appt was over, I asked about cleaning my teeth and was then informed that I would have to schedule another appt for that. WHAT?? I took time off from work for this!! Second appt: Get to dentist and the hygienist, who was really VERY good, cleaned my teeth. Afterwards, yet again, it was clear that the appt was over, and I had not EVEN seen the dentist. When I asked her if I was going to see the dentist, she said she would ask him to come in to see me. First off, I have NEVER, EVER been to a dentist that did NOT come into the room to re-check my teeth after the hygienist had finished cleaning my teeth - no matter HOW GOOD SHE IS! I declined her offer to go get him as well as her offer to schedule another appt in 6 mos. I knew I would NOT be coming back to this dentist. While checking out, the receptionist also asked about scheduling another appt, and again, I declined. She then handed me a "Proposed Treatment Plan" that Dr. Wolfe had worked up for me. This plan consisted of 2 more visits, with him replacing what appears to be 6 fillings (3 per visit) according to the paper handed to me, and to the tune of $744.00 - the full price before my dental insurance kicks in! I have been going to Dr. Wolfe since they opened and have always had great experiences. Everyone, Jessica, Dr. Wolfe, Michelle and the dental hygienist are personable and informative and always willing to work with my terrible work schedule. I recently moved up to the University area, so am now 1 hour away (still with a terrible work schedule) but I still make the effort to see Dr. Wolfe and his team because I enjoy them so much. I just got a couple wisdom teeth pulled and Dr. Wolfe gave me every bit of info I needed, had scripts ready for me to fill and didn't force a recheck appointment since he knows the trip is not convenient. They do have some staff in place that I did not recognize but everyone was just as friendly as before. Our insurance changed this year and I was concerned about getting my pano X-ray. She was quick to have front staff verify that everything would be covered. Nice staff, but they are very pushy when it comes to this "deep clean" movement. Your insurance probably does not cover it.

Before going into the office, (our first time with this dentistry) there was a HUGE issue and communication problem with the "senior" office person there by the name of Julie. I called to schedule an appointment, which was made, and Julie and I further discussed braces for my son, referrals and other detailed information. When the date approached, I received no reminder call. I decided to call the office and she told me she had no record of me scheduling anything. I re-booked, (I know things happen) although as a working parent and my son is in school, it can sometimes be challenging to choose the time & additionally it may take a while to get a new appointment. As the next date approaches, I receive a confirmation message. I call back to confirm and another young lady tells me they need to have his past dental information from his previous dentist before he can be seen in their office because he is over 16. I asked why "Julie" didn't explain this process to me and she said she didn't know. This now requires me to leave my job, go to my sons previous dental office & request records in person to be sent via email. As their office is closed on Friday and my son's appointment is Monday. UGH! I agree and then hang up. Julie calls back (before I leave to go to the dentist to request records) and now needs his insurance card information over the phone to see if they can see him! I expressed my frustration with her lack of knowledge and proper protocol and asked if there was an office manager I can speak with instead of her. She apologized (robotically) and stated that they didn't have an office manager. I asked for a senior person and with a giggle she replied, "I am the senior person". I was stunned. She further went on to say she couldn't hear me very well over the telephone. I told her I would call back. I called back within 5 minutes after regrouping myself and spoke to someone else who appeared to be a little more sympathetic to my simple needs and gave me the information that their office required. After an hour I called back to cancel my son's appointment. It was just too much "drama" for me. Lastly, while the reviews and testimonials have been glowing about this front office, I cannot and didn't experience one iota of great customer care from that "senior person". read more
