This place is a local gem. I knew the owner back in the day when him and his wife used to have their location near sushi Tao by Philly cheese Steak. The current lady there is one of the sweetest persons I know. I love her friendly persona and how welcoming she makes you feel. The store offers mineral infused water and "regular" water I need to update with the prices. In this store they also carry a wide variety of stickers, natural oils and other things related to natural local products. There is a massage chair out by the patio so people can feel free to just relax and enjoy the plants and sunlight . This location is fairly new but over time you can see their growing stock of items grow and also every time it appears more welcoming than the last. Keep in mind you can get a stamp card and fill it up in order to get a free refill. Only downside is: parking is limited since many of the spots are reserved for either shops surrounding the business. But you can either park out by the street or across the way. Love this place for multiple reasons! The water has O2 ran through the pipes, so it's clean, and you can taste it! (No icky mold/mildew in the pipes like the grocery store spots.) Best tasting city water ever. They have a giant filtration system that leaves you with nothing but pure water! So good. One of the owners are always there and are super fun to talk to. They also sell reusable water containers, stickers, cool crystals and home water filtration systems of all shapes and sizes. They even sell water filtration set ups for your shower so your not breathing chlorine vapors while you shower and don't end up with dry itchy skin from all the weird stuff they put in our water these days. read more

There is no water source that is better than New World Water. We live out in the Arcata Bottoms and the water out here has such a strong iron content that it is undrinkable. Each week we have to bring in about 20 gallons of water for drinking and cooking. The New World Water store is great for the selection, knowledge, and positive attitude of the owner and staff. 1.) Consider that you have three types of Water to draw from: Regular: Charcoal filtration with reverse osmosis. Alkaline: Again reverse osmosis filtration, but with infused minerals and a higher pH to make it less acidic and more easily absorbed. Biocera: Bio-ceramic filtration with a balance of minerals and higher pH. Ask the the owner about these. Casey is very knowledgeable on the different types and has pamphlets if you want to know more. All other local water sources in our local grocery stores use just the charcoal filtration. 2.) The O3 rinse: Before I found New World Water I would have to scrub and rinse the inside of each 5 gallon plastic jug that we use to store our household water. The thin film of algae would start growing in the inside and it was a real chore to use a system of bristle brushes soapy water and scotch- brite pads glued to magnets on either side of the jug. At the time that was the only method I knew of that would permit me to clean these each month. No Longer! New World Water has an O3 dispenser that one merely rinses on the inside before filling and the O3 "binds" with all residual elements and washes out with the rinse. Very cool. And of course they are the only store that has the O3 rinse option. 3) Lastly: The store has such a great positive attitude. The staff is so helpful, positive and welcoming. Casey sets the tone for the place and her clientele follows her lead. Yes, we may be in the middle of a pandemic, and there are all kinds of stressors of a political nature all around us, But we can try our best to treat each other considerately. Kudos! read more

My apartment is right next to the marshes, and the pipes in it are old. I don't really have the option to drink the tap water, as it makes me sick/dehydrated very quickly. Casey is great and provides professional and friendly customer service, answers questions, and will even help carry water to the car. The water tastes great! We started buying water here after we learned about Chromium 6 levels and other problems with Humboldt County water that Britta and Pur filters do not address (there are a few pitchers that do, but the replaceable filters are exorbitantly expensive and sometimes the pitchers get discontinued -- what a pain!). Every time we go, I enjoy seeing the other merchandise and they have a nice small area for kids to play while I get my water. read more
