I later spoke with Joann who was also extremely nice and went the extra mile to work with me. After I arrived I was brought in by Dr. Marcus's assistant Arianna. She was very pleasant and kind, and made me feel very comfortable. After meeting Dr. Marcus I knew that I was in the right place with the right people. He was very professional, kind and considerate. His main concern was that I would not be in pain and he would be able to do the root canal. He continually checked to make sure I was not in any pain, and did a great job. I cannot say enough wonderful comments about Dr. Marcus and his amazing staff. I would never go anywhere else for this kind of procedure. The office was immaculate and comfortable. I have to return next week for this to be completed and to have another procedure done with Dr, Kapoor. Needless to say I am not apprehensive at all. This is certainly a great place! When I called to ask questions they kept referring to a contract I had signed months earlier when I made the appointment, which they gave me no physical or digital copy of to refer back to. This led me to realize only days before the surgery that I was not going to be put under a general anesthetic, which can be very nerve wracking prior to and during the surgery. The Doctor and hygienist were both not communicative during the procedure, which made me more nervous than I already was. Additionally they did not know which teeth they were meant to be removing and I had to correct them just moments before they began. Whether it's my own experience or the ones I heard in the waiting room, they are all uniformly poor at effective and efficient communication. Feel free to go here to get what you need to get done, but don't expect any quality of care.

For the past year, I went to six other oral surgeons explaining the care I need and each of them couldn't accommodate my needs for a variety of reasons. After advocating for myself and my wisdom teeth getting progressively worse, I found Dr. Peter Protzel & his staff, who were able to do my surgery in the hospital setting I needed. His incredible staff worked with my insurance company to get the surgery approved through my health insurance. It's been a little over 1 week post op and I'm back to my regular self, no more swelling, and the recovery was much better than I expected. Dr. Protzel in my eyes, was the only oral surgeon that actually was able to have empathy for my complex situation and I'm thankful for him and his staff's dedication to my health.
