Beware! I had two root canals for back molars done by Dr. Goziker, now less than two years later both teeth need to be extracted and replaced by expensive implants due to recurring infection and pain! I'm in good health, excellent oral hygiene, see a dentist regularly, non smoker, so no special risk factors. Here's what went down: When I first called their office on a Monday morning due to severe pain in the molar Dr. G. previously treated, I was told that Dr. G was booked for the WHOLE WEEK, couldn't even spare 15 minutes for me, so I agreed to see his partner Dr. Bruckner. The office manager said the consult would be free because it was an evaluation of a root canal performed by their practice. After a quick exam and a few X-rays Dr. Bruckner claimed that he really needed a 3D scan to make sure of the tooth's prognosis. Then Dr. Bruckner left the room and his assistant came in and told me the scan would be $300! I was blindsided by this sneaky approach but was in pain and needed answers so agreed to get the scan. Then Dr. Bruckner showed me the scan and said the tooth was badly infected causing severe bone loss so it wasn't savable anymore, recommended I have it pulled and replaced with an implant elsewhere. Then Dr. Bruckner claimed the scan showed I need a root canal on a different asymptomatic tooth on the other side of my mouth, trolling for more business at a very bad time! I understand that not every treatment is successful, but charging me $300 to ensure that their own prior expensive procedure had FAILED (i.e., recurring pain and infection in the treated teeth less than 2 years later) seems unethical and mercenary. Especially when I had been told that the consult would be free! In response to Dr. Bruckner's response that "any medical office would charge me $300 for a CAT scan" that's simply untrue. The going rate for new patients on LI is $150 and the oral surgeon I saw afterward didn't charge me anything for the scan or consult. Their follow-up claims that both of my treated teeth miraculously cracked on their own (with no connection to their failed root canals) are laughable and factually untrue, also in violation of HIPAA laws to disclose this online. Not once did anyone from their office try to call or email me directly to resolve the situation directly. Horrendously painful and expensive lesson learned; NY Endodontic Associates may seem good and kind when you come in and they want your money, but don't count on getting long term results from their root canals. I used to think that having a root canal was one of the most painful procedures anyone could undergo. Now that I've been treated by Dr Goziker I think differently. He took care of my teeth, doing 2 root canals in 1 visit. Aside from the anesthesia injections I felt no pain. Even when the anesthesia wore off I felt ok! Of course there was some swelling and soreness (to be expected) buy nothing like what root canals are hyped up to be. Dr Goziker is knowledgable and experienced. He even took care to make sure my crown wasn't damaged when he drilled behind the tooth. The procedure took less time than I'd anticipated and I was happy to be able to drive myself home. Ann, at the front desk is also very sweet and made me feel welcome when I anxiously entered the office. She gracefully answered my questions and helped arrange a payment plan that I could manage. I came in this office while on vacation and 5 months pregnant to have 2 root canals preformed. Dr. G. got me in ASAP as I was in dire need of help. I have held on to his staff pen and recommend anyone in the area to go to this office. This doctor was amazing. Ready to sell my soul, I ran into the office and fell on my knees begging for mercy.... Of course that's not what really happened, but mentally that's what I sincerely felt. Dental pain and labor pains are probably the worst pains known to mankind... (Dramatic rant over) So yesterday while at work, my dull toothache escalated to a power drill like pain that radiated into my ear and head. I spent a few hours contemplating injecting lidocaine into my own mouth for relief *I am an emergency medicine clinician*, then I decided on the better decision looking up emergency dental care on Google. I found this place with a basic search and the point that drove me to call was the fact that they had Sunday hours. Fast forward, I call and a lovely receptionist answered and spoke with me about my symptoms and timeframe. She was prepared to schedule me for Monday, but with the pain I was in , who knew if I would live for another 48hrs. I pleaded for an earlier appt. And she told me she would page the dentist to see if he could see my tomorrow *Sunday*. Within an hour Dr Edward Goziker called me. And we set an appointment for Sunday morning. The office was fairly easy to locate. And the registration process was fairly painless. The cost of the procedure was a little steep. But I truly don't know what the going rate of a root canal is... to be honest I would've paid just about anything to get the pain to stop. So in walks Dr Goziker. He's got a cool vibe about him. I'm fairly skiddish when it comes to dentist. But he has a nice presence about him. He explained everything that needed to be done very clear and precise. And within moments we started the procedre. An hour later, the ENTIRE procedure was done. For the first time ever, I can honestly state, that root canal was as "painless" as a root canal could ever be. I almost gave them 4 stars but I didn't have a good enough reason to NOT give 5. If you need emergency dental work. Or if you're sure you need a root canal, without hesitation... I needed a root canal and was referred by a friend who also experiences anxiety, to this office. I was terrified and in a lot of pain. I had never had this type of issue, so I really had no idea what to expect. I spoke to Ann, the receptionist, who quite successfully put my mind at ease; I was coming in for a consultation and the doctors would explain all of the next steps. Dr. Bruckner could not have been nicer or more reassuring. He took the time to go over all of the X-rays and the procedure. He didn't dismiss my fear, but rather promised I would not feel any pain. It was pure luck that I chose NY endodontic assoc. and I couldn't be happier with that choice! I was seen by Dr. Goziker, who was friendly with a great chair-side manner. He really listens to my symptoms and asks good follow-up questions. He understood my aversion to pain and alwayschecked to make sure I was comfortable. I am extremely satisfied with the outcome of treatment, but more so with the level of comfort. After having an extremely annoying toothache for over a month, i finally got tired of just dealing with the pain. I've been in need of a root canal for a while now, but seeing as how i work 2 jobs and can't afford to take time off from work, ive had no choice other than to just keep pushing it off. I was really very fortunate to stumble across an endodontist in long island that works weekends. I came in to see Dr. Goziker this past sunday morning and was really taken aback as to how nice this office was. He was extremely attentive, expained the entire procedure to me, and was very professional. Im a big baby, and if i was able to get through the procedure I think anyone can. I couldnt believe how quick and painless everything was. He was very nice to have called me that same day and I was very happy to tell him that I was feeling great. I was referred to NY Endodontics by my dentist, after he saw that I had an infection in one of my teeth. Let me start by saying that i am an absolute terrible dental patient. Although I was extremely nervous and scared about getting a root canal, the pain was making it absolutely unbearable. I had called in the morning and was scheduled for an appointment immediately. Dr. Goziker and his staff were welcoming and extremely knowledgeable, which reduced some of my fears and anxiety. Dr. Goziker explained the root canal procedure to me, describing exactly what he will be doing, as well as giving me several treatment options. The actual root canal procedure took a little over an hour. During this time, Dr. Goziker frequently checked on me to see if I was comfortable, asking me if I felt ok, and explaining to me the steps of the treatment.
