I can't speak of their sales department, as I've never dealt with them, but their service department is seriously lacking in customer service and basic professionalism. A company vehicle was brought in for a Toyota recall, and while there, we requested an oil change as well. Before any non-recall work was authorized, it was explicitly explained that they needed to call our fleet department to verify coverage for the oil change. This is standard procedure and has been handled smoothly at other Toyota locations. Assistant Service Manager Michael Ford acknowledged this and agreed to make the call. Fast forward to pickup day, and we were suddenly presented with a bill we should not have been responsible for. When asked whether he had called the number provided, Michael's tone and attitude were completely different from our first interaction. Instead of taking accountability, he replied, "We don't call. You brought your car to us, right?"--a response that directly contradicted the clear instructions given beforehand. The lack of integrity, accountability, and professionalism from Michael Ford is honestly baffling for someone in a management role. We even left a voicemail for the GM of Service, and unsurprisingly, have yet to receive a return call. Based on this experience, we will not be doing business with this dealership again. read more

I would like to start by saying that my family has purchased close to 10 Toyotas from Newburgh Toyota over the years and we couldn't be more pleased with them. Recently I had ordered a 25 Tundra platinum hybrid max with a 6.5ft bed. Nelson was my salesperson and he was fantastic. From the moment the truck got to the dealership he was in contact with me and worked around my work schedule to get in there and get the paperwork taken care of. They made all the paperwork and bank info an absolute breeze. When I got there the truck was detailed in the bay ready to go and within 40 minutes all the paperwork was done. Nelson personally took me out to the truck and went through every button and option in the truck, helped set up the Toyota Connect, and made sure that I was totally satisfied and understood everything about the truck before I left the lot. The level of service from this dealer and Nelson is impeccable and I highly recommend them. Mario the GM at Newburgh Toyota shows the level of professionalism in running a dealership that I feel always puts the customer first and goes out of their way to help you. Also when I go there for service I highly recommend Steve Conrad. He is all I ever work with and likewise with everyone else his knowledge of cars and years of loyalty to Toyota show in how he treats and helps his customers. SERVICE DEPARTMENT is NOT TRUSTWORTY. They lure you in with their low price oil change package, then try their hardest to find, OR CREATE costly repairs. In my case, after my oil change, they told me I needed a new head gasket and showed me an oil drenched engine photo on computer that was not even my car. They did pour some oil on my engine purposely during oil change. I cleaned it off & checked it frequently for 1,000 miles. NO GASKET LEAK. Liars! read more

If I could leave zero stars, I would. Came in on a Sunday morning. We were shopping for our first car, and in the process of checking out Mazda, Subaru, and Toyota SUVs on our list. When we arrived, there were two ladies at the front desk and not too busy. We made an appointment ahead of time (for a specific car/trim) and mentioned we are also interested in checking out a few others for test drives. Lo and behold, the best salewoman from hell, Janice Eckert, proceeded to ask us a series of extremely rude questions. "do you know what you want?" "what car are you driving now" "why do you need to do test drives" "if you've driven a RAV4 on rental, that should give you a pretty good sense and no need to test drive" Did I miss something that auto dealerships don't do test drives anymore?? Any normal person would realize that just because you drove a rental RAV of who-knows-what-model-year and who-knows-what-trim of who-knows-how-many-years-ago... that it should allow you to make a decision to drop 40-50k on a purchase without all the tools to make an informed decision? Prior to this Toyota Newburgh visit, we came from Mazda at Poughkeepsie. Completely differently experience - they WANT you to test their cars, check out the colors, talk about models and trims, features and tech. NOT - treat you like a pest thinking just because you showed up in t shirt and flip flops and aren't white or tall, that you just be coming here to waste their time. We left with a very bad taste. I'm 9/10 certain it was a case of serious profiling, and just plain lazyness. If that's how they treat a NEW CAR client, how do you think they treat returning customers for service? I shudder. Since then she has brought her vehicle in and called continuously as her brand new car repeatedly does not start, it has to be jumped weekly and sometimes daily. In every instance they refused to help saying their diagnostic machine shows it's fine. Fast forward still having the same issues we Had a local mechanic hook it up to his mechanic where it shows "defective battery". The battery clearly says an 84 month warranty. My father was so excited and overcome with joy because he knew how hard the car buying process has become over the recent few years. Well let me tell you about this "deal" he sold a lemon 2014 ford focus with a faulty transmission sensor that fails every 2,000 miles and needs to be replaced which is a pretty well known fact by new car salesman let alone a one of expertise level that Bobby messina had assured my father he was. The car had a listed mileage of 58,704 who provided my father with fake and not real car reports that he honestly thought was carfax reports but they were not. They were experian auto check which is not a valid source of records for buying a vehicle in the auto industry. Which bobby messina knew all too well, which is why he did not provide the car fax record because he knew what it showed! He provided a 5 page "experian records" that showed 0 Problems reported on every page. How could this be bobby? Let me tell you how you knew very well bobby the car dealerships/ Repair shows all only use Car Fax to report car service records that were performed on the vehicle during the service not experian which I will be uploading for everyone to see so there customers will now the dirty, sleazy, disgusting habits of not being honest with their customers and trying to surpress records they don't want you to see. Experian never even reported a state title which was on the first page of the report and was quickly skimmed by my father to show him all the zeros he wanted to see to secure the deal and grease his dirty fat pockets. Cusotmers who don't know any better, but are only simply relying on the guidance from the salesman. Do not make the same mistake I did and do your research and your third party verifications. Bring a mechanic with you, an average level mechanic would have spotted this problem and warned the customer the deal is not what it seems and is probably a scam. I went in for a simple oil change and am shocked about what happened. when I left for my oil change I went straight home, didn't think anything about it. I went to lock my door with my fob and it didn't work.. I had such a weird feeling and another mechanic verified. Really disappointed in the fact the sales person did not listen to what our budget was as a customer. For a Corolla SE not fully loaded around 22K was given a outrageous monthly payment. When my husband mentioned were first responders we were told they would look for a discount if any. My husband told the sales person if he could lower the amount to 20k, we would put $2000 down and with any discounts see if my monthly could be around $300 monthly. Sales person came back twice with the sales price being the sticker price with no deduction and monthly price at $427. For that price I should've been negotiating for a Corolla Apex instead. We walked out and the sales person didn't even bother to stop us or say have a good day. Poor customer service and awful financial offers. read more

I think all the past reviews are relevant and helps puts together a good data set to determine overall satisfaction. My Yelp moderation rant aside, Toyota in Newburgh has gotten much better. They don't seem to over extend themselves on appointments so I'm not spending as much time in the store as I used to. They have a neat drive up system for service which may be slightly flawed but it's an improvement from their previous rundown facility. Showroom looks absolutely amazing and lounge area for service is really good. Overall this place is average to above average at best. Called back was told the regulator was broken and that part be in the next day. Next day call to confirm it was ready for pick up and John the person in-charge of my vehicle says oh the replacement window was shattered in the box and there's no estimated time for it to come in. Could come in tomorrow or next month. If the window was shattered why would you tell a customer it will be done tomorrow? I waited an extra week with no updates and no communication from them. Finally I called left a voicemail stating call me back if there is still no estimate when the window will come back I'll pick my car up today and take it else where. 5 hours later I call them back because no return phone call was ever made. Was told oh I was on lunch (probably the whole 5 hours which is why the customer service sucks here) I was just about to call you. I informed him then I will be there in an hour to pick the car up. He said ok. I get to the dealer only to wait 90 minutes. Every-time I asked is there a time it's going to be done? Jon said with a lot of attitude it's be worked on it will be done shortly (literally what he said when I got there. 30 minutes later and an hour later). And finally after waiting 90 minutes from telling them I'll be there in an hour the car is ready for pick up. As I drive away the check engine light comes on... Needless to say I'll never go back. You could eat off the floor at the vehicle intake area. 5 minutes at the counter and the shuttle brought me to my local work place. At check in the girl noticed I was due for inspection and handled that. I asked for a wash & vac. No problem - cost is $10. For $10 I expected just a run through a machine but the car was vacuumed, rubber mats clean and car washed. The Newburgh Toyota shuttle picked me back up right on time. Loved it! read more

I previously bought a 2019 Tundra 1794 Editon and spent approx. $55,000. I had just returned there to look at the new Tundra's that just came out. I know they are all newly redisgned and are hard to come by but I was told that I'd have to pick one of there new incoming allottments before I can get an appraisel for my trade in. On top of that, they want a $10,000 markup charge on top of the MSRP. All this with the salesman knowing that I was a returning customer. I went in to get my oil changed and snow tires to be put on. The service manager (a woman) was not pleasant to talk to at all. She talked to me like I was her dumb employee, every time she came up to me to tell me about the update on my car and when I asked a question about an added price I had no idea about (disposal of old tires) her response was "well nope, there is the ny state fee and our fee, because you can't just throw them out." Her tone of voice was really off putting. I think I will go back to Rockland Toyota even though it is 20miles longer. At least I feel welcome there. After 4 hours we narrowed it down to the vehicle we wanted. Frank, the sales manager, then told us that there was a "glitch in the system" and re-quoted us more than 30% higher. He says the "interest wasn't factored in." That's $150 in interest per month?!?! We are extremely disappointed, the last time we did business with them we had an excellent experience. My lease is up in August, I have been trying to work with my dealer in Middletown since February, via phone and email as well as in person. I have bought 5 cars from this location as well as sent family and friends who have also purchased vehicles. With what we are all experiencing with inflation I knew this would be a task. However I never thought a long standing relationship of 15 years would end but I was prepared to jump ship if need be and did as the offer I was made was just insulting. On the afternoon of June 27th, I reached out by phone and spoke to Kristen, who was receptive of my needs, listened and ran some prelim numbers for me so I had an idea and just over the phone, I knew I was in good hands. Of course they wanted to see my vehicle for the trade and finalize the numbers. Kristen scheduled me to come in at 12pm on June 28th. I was greeted by Ronald who was waiting for me at the front desk and we got started. Ronald had a familiar face and it ended up we knew one another. Ronald was prepared, had insite on my needs, did not try to upsell me, was patient running numbers and provided breakdowns and several options to choose from. He shared his personal experience with renewing his vehicle and what we are all up against and it put my mind at ease and I did not hesitate and ultimately it made my decision very easy. Bottom line I was made to feel very comfortable. By 2pm I left, got my downpayment and registration and was back by 4pm and left by 5:15. All I can say is from start to finish, top to bottom it was effortless and I left relieved and happy.
