Before calling to get a different place from my insurance I looked on their website and social media. I came across an email and tried that. I received a response almost immediately. They called me the next day and scheduled me for my echocardiogram. I just had my echocardiogram with Josh. He was very professional and held great conversation throughout. As a female I knew I would be exposed but, Josh did a great job making me feel comfortable. They did call with my results fairly quick and mailed a report for my records. I really appreciate that report being mailed, I did not even ask for it. If I had to use a cardiologist in the future I confident so would use this location again.

Never answers the phone, does not retrun calls and does not respond to emails. Received a letter on…read more11/20 informing me that I had an outstanding ballance dated the 11/4. Letter said that after 10 days they would send to collection agency. I have very good insurance that they had on file when I first started. I have never received a bill. I was just in for a check up on October 30th and no mention of a payment due or past due amount owed was brought to my attention. At my initial appointment we agreed that no needless tests would be done that is not covered by my insurance.

After having several different Pulmonologists in…read moreVirginia since my problems were diagnosed by NYU Langone Brooklyn, I never found one that was thorough. Researching is a skill I developed in grad school. So I put that skill to work finding a new Pulmonologist. I then referred myself. It was important that I find one who was also a Sleep Specialist, since I was having very scary breathing problems at night. Devoting a time period to this project, I found Dr. Anthony Quaranta with Sentara Pulmonology & Critical Care. Boy, did I find a gem!!! Dr. Quaranta first ordered a new Chest CatScan. Then after seeing a significant difference since 2019, a barrage of testing. I was impressed that he was checking everything that could contribute to to the problem. He also ordered a Sleep Study. More about that in reviews specific to those locations. Bottom line is that he's still sending me for more procedures. I now sleep with a high tech CPAP machine which has stopped the scary stuff. And I told him he could never retire. This doctor is fabulous! The practice provides the Pulmonology Care for Sentara Norfolk General. So scheduling appointments is sometimes hard. But Dr. Quaranta communicates with me on the Sentara App, including his explanation of test results. If you don't have the App it's a "Must Have". You can see Test Results as soon as they are available. And much, much more..... The location, in the Sentara Heart Hospital, is terrific. There is free Valet Parking, which is essential for someone with breathing problems. There is also an entrance in the Heart Hospital to their dedicated parking deck. Sentara Heart Hospital is behind Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, which is easily accessible for all of Southside Coastal Virginia, off Brambleton Avenue. This practice is one that I would highly recommend.

My father went to see this doctor in regards to shortness of breath and pain in his chest. The…read morenurse did tests and didn't call for a month. He consistently called to get the results but was continuously told that the doctor would look at the test results soon and get back to him. My father finally went and saw another cardiologist who scheduled him for immediate valve replacement. Dr. Griffin's nurse finally called back a few days ago and told him that he was good and didn't need to be seen for six months. I am currently sitting in Sentara Heart Hospital in Norfolk, VA where my father had a valve replacement and a double bypass. If my father had listened and waited for Dr. Griffin, he would be six feet under. Great doctor.

His responses assure me that he cares about me and he is open to my holistic point of view. I like to try lifestyle changes before I start taking pharmaceutical solutions. I like his suggestion for exercise I might actually do. Haha! He helped me regulate my BP and avoid taking meds for life. His demeanor is very calming and very uplifting. He does not talk down to you he speaks to you and takes time to make sure you really understand what he is recommending to improve your health. Yup he encourages me to improve my lifestyle without making me feel inferior. I think his approach to introducing possible lifestyle changes to consider is the reason I enjoy coming to see him wherever he is working. The staff at this location are amazing.
