Came in at opening just a couple of people there for blood work. So it was quick to come in as a new patient. I have tried going into patient first before - but cannot stand that place, so I tried a new spot hoping it would be a better experience. And it was! They did vitals and all, thankfully no Covid. They sent me to the pharmacy like a single store away, and I got antibiotics quickly! Will return with any issues I have. read more

It has been a while since I went to this urgent care. I typically go to ones closer, but after today's visit, this is the place for me in the future. I took my teen in for flu-like symptoms, filled out new patient paperwork for her, waited for about 15 minutes, and was brought back to a waiting room where height and weight were gathered. Flu, Strep, and Covid swabs were done (all negative). Then, the doctor looked at me and inquired about my health (he noticed something). We spoke briefly about it, and he provided more valuable information to me about my condition than my PCP, endocrinologist, rheumatologist, and neurologist have over the past 5 years. So, I don't write too many reviews, but the service and results here were so good while on a vacation with my son, I felt the need to at least send some kudos! I had been extremely ill for several days, and just trying to find relief while in Virginia Beach from TX. Finding "The Doctor's In Urgent clinic on Yelp, the registration process was easy, and when brought back I was seen by the doctor's assistant Lilly. She was very pleasant, efficient, and professional. I was quickly seen after by Dr. Morgan, and she was very good listening to what symptoms I had been having, and was able to rule out with a blood test what I thought I had, to what was really going on. She put me on the correct course of medication and treatment that started improving my health literally within the next 12 hours! I am so thankful that I was able to make a turnaround so quickly and not completely ruin my son and I's vacation to beautiful Virginia Beach. Thank you to the "The Doctor's In" Team! Have always loved the staff and care I have received here in the past. Especially given the location being three blocks from my work and one block from my home. However, after hobbling over there with what I think is a pulled muscle, I was told they no longer accept Medicaid. The website, or at least the Google listing page, is not updated to reflect such. Just a word to the wise if you were going to go there hoping to use Medicaid. Hopefully this review will save someone else the trouble and get them to update their Google listing. read more

The main doctor is nice but the staff are rude. I've been in multiple times over the years and it's at least an hour before I've been seen. Today we walked in at 1:30 - first in line after lunch (they close for 1.5 hours for lunch). Waited 15 minutes to go to a room - the nurse did a strep, covid and flu swab on my son. He's nauseous and vomiting probably due to dehydration. Now we've been waiting an hour to see a doctor or get any results. When I asked when we will be seen we were told to wait. Finally after 1 hour 15 minutes we were told he has strep. I think going to the pediatrician would have been much faster. read more

A little over a year ago I was a walk in at this clinic. I went in with extreme pain and nausea. I did not have to wait long and was seen by Dr Werwath. He checked me out and said that I needed to go to the ER right away because he did not have the necessary means to help me with my extreme circumstances. I was hesitant to go to the ER, but he felt it was life threatening and I needed to go by ambulance because he did not feel it was even safe for me to drive. I trusted his advice and went straight to the hospital. I ended up with life threatening issues and they barely saved my life. So, I can honestly say he saved my life. If I would have just been sent home with things I could do for relief or just an advisement for the hospital I honestly would have gone home. I might not have made it through the night though. So I appreciate his honesty and true concern for my health that led me straight to the hospital that day. read more

I was in town for a wrestling tournament from out of state and ended up needing an urgent care. I saw Jacquie Oliver and she was wonderful. All of the staff was wonderful. Please if you were working 3/25/23, please pat yourself on the back. Thank you for your help, I was in and out pretty fast and got the meds I needed and it was like I didn't miss a beat. Everyone was so kind, and I was treated so well. This is a place you probably get a lot of vacationers, but I give you all 10 stars and a huge THANK YOU! I took my 18 month old son here on a whim for an injured ankle. It was a complete waste of money and time! After paying $90 the doctor told me there was nothing he could do as they didn't even have an X-ray machine. I guess it's my fault for not asking, but after calling ahead and explaining my sons injuries and writing them down on the intake form the right thing to do would be to tell me there's nothing you can do for me! The doctor told me to go to a hospital but then said he believed that any hospitals were even doing X-rays because of COVID. What's even worse is that the doctor made suggestions to go to CHKD but then retracted his suggestion stating that there might be too many "inner city" people there. Who says that?!? He also tried to apologize for not having an X-ray machine but telling me he has a laser for laser hair removal for myself. All while my son is screaming in agonizing pain. Nothing was done. Not even an offer of Tylenol or Motrin to ease the pain. $90 for a referral to either a hospital or another urgent care and a sad attempt at an up sell for laser hair removal. I could not get out of the office fast enough to get my son the proper care he needed. read more

I was stung by a bug and an advise nurse told me I needed to go to urgent care to have it removed immediately so they sent me to this location. When Dr. Werwath came in, he told me there was nothing there even though I expressed multiple times that not only did I feel it inside of me, but I literally watched the stinger go completely into my hand. He wrote off my concerns and just put a bandaid over where the stinger was inside me (not sure why as there was no blood or anything). Fast forward to 4 days later, the stinger is still in me and causing pain so I was sent to a different urgent care that actually removed the stinger and even questioned why the first doctor wouldn't have removed it in the first place. Very frustrating being on vacation and paying out-of-pocket for a service (they did not take my insurance, but I would not have mind paying the expense if I actually received the treatment I needed) just for them to do absolutely nothing but write off your concerns and get sent home with a bandaid. My advice would be to find another local urgent care so you don't end up paying $100+ for a bandaid. read more

Left debit card at home by accident and got to drs appt and for some reason this visit I have a $1 copay, which I didn't have before, so I asked could I call back and give debit card info when I get home and answer was no. They must have their dollar now,I was injured in car accident and was sent here by lawyers office, have bad back and neck, get lyft to take me down there to be told sorry can't see you over a dollar. I've been here twice for minor emergencies. Stitches to the face where Dr W did an impeccable job, even having me come back twice to get the stitches out at the right time to prevent scarring. I ended up needing Urgent Care while on vacation. My insurance's website listed a few Urgent Care places and I made some calls. The Doctor's In has a very kind receptionist who answered my questions, the other places were not nearly as helpful, so I figured it was worth the drive. When I called back, I was offered an appointment! I didn't have to wait hours in a room full of sick, grumpy people. I was seen on time and treated kindly. Dr. Werwath is a superb physician. He asks the right questions, knows evidence-based treatments, and doesn't order unnecessary tests. He came up with a diagnosis and treatment plan right away. I felt better the next morning. (I saw three doctors during this illness and Dr. Werwath was by far the best.) If I lived in Virginia Beach, Dr. Werwath would be my physician! My son had a minor cut in late July and the polite receptionists and Dr Werwath are very kind and quick, the service itself was fine. I was worried that I would be stung by huge fees being from overseas and before treatment paid the full amount requested and was categorically assured twice that the amount we would pay would be only the $90 we had paid and there would be no extras- My son was treated for this for 15 minutes and then we thanked the receiptionists and left- today I received an extra bill in the post for an additional $136 for the same work, no explanation and directly the opposite of what we were told - outrageous - and the letter only allows disputes by post to Maine. I've been seeing Dr. Werwath for over 10 years. From a sprained ankle to an inflamed thyroid, he is simply the best. My grandmother, mother, husband & children have seen him as well. Hands down, Dr. Werwath is the best diagnostician in our area. Each visit, you receive individualized personal care. I've never felt rushed & I'm always left with the sense that he REALLY cares about my families health & well being. You just can't find this type of customized care these days. Corporate medical facilities (ie. Sentara) have implemented such stringent regulations & policies for their healthcare employees, & patients don't receive the personal experience that once existed. I have been seeing Dr. Werwath for well over 10 years ! He is a Genuine and Caring man and he is a man of Faith. He is kind, and he takes the time to truly listen and he hears more than your verbal word. He has this ability to ask the most important questions as he can feel what perhaps some may be to embarrassed or just might not know how or what to say about perhaps a delicate situation. He does not have that pompous energy that many doctors have thinking they are above you, and who give you about 15 seconds of their time. Had to visit this place while on vacation because my 11 yo developed an ear infection. We were in and out in less than 45 mins and the entire staff was very friendly. The examination was thorough and there are plenty of pharmacy options (e.g., CVS, Rite-aid, Walgreens, Target, etc ) right nearby in which they will call in a prescription to. Be mindful of their hours because I believe the are only open during normal daytime business hours. Conveniently 10 min drive from VA Beach Boardwalk (near Hilltop Shopping Plaza). An added bonus is there is a Chick-Fil-A just next door which makes any kid feel instantly better :-). read more

The first doctor I feel has listen to me and not just told me I'm fine and push pills. He used examples of how he has seen it in other people letting me know it's not normal but I'm not alone. I could not have been more pleased with my experience here. I was visiting family in VA Beach (from nc) and my 15 month old daughter was acting ill, I wrestled with the fact all day of whether to bring her to an urgent care or not. Finally at 4:45pm I decided to bring her in. I walked into the office building and there was a sign on the desk saying office closes at 4pm. I thought oh crap, and just then a man walked by and said hi. He then introduced himself as the Dr that worked there and asked me what was going on. There was zero look of frustration on his face as I knew I had showed up one hour after they closed. He was so very kind and thorough when checking my daughter out. Even after she got the diagnosis of a double ear infection he printed out coupons for me to use at the pharmacy, just in case I had an issue with insurance. The nurse that was helping him was also very kind. It was so comforting to know that he genuinely cared about the well being of my daughter over a dollar. Fabulous Dr! If I ever have issues again while I'm visiting VA Beach which I do about 5 times a year I will be seeing them for sure! read more

Absolutely awful. Sent husband (who has white coat syndrome) bc of good reviews. The clerks were NASTY and claimed to have left me voicemails (which they did not); the Dr. allowed a student into the room without making sure it was OK, ordered extraneous testing and then tried to send us out to have it done after my husband had already taken multiple days off of work. The labs ended up being done in the office after my husband became upset. Refused to write an Rx for an anti-inflammatory, the only med that had been working, because "he didn't think he needed it" (husband had a total shoulder replacement less than 6 months later) and also told him that he was probably having breathing problems because of his "sedentary lifestyle" (works as a cable technician.) Then we had to call for help after receiving a bill for $250 for labs as the claim was denied bc the office entered the wrong diagnosis code. RN didn't understand why the insurance co. can't tell you what code to enter (it's fraud.) Still working on that. HUGE disappointment and waste of time and money. read more
