My mum and I went for lunch here the other day. The interior is very nice, the waitress was just lovely but the food was very, very average. I had the breaded Camembert which came on a mountain of dressed salad, and the Camembert cakes were so tiny! It came with two of them, and a little pot of onion jam, but I just was not impressed. It was £4, and I thought that was way too expensive for what it was.
We both had the smothered chicken, topped with cheese and bacon and a jacket potato on the side, it was nice, but nothing extraordinary. It came with yet another high pile of salad, which was fresh, but I was all saladed out by that point. The BBQ sauce came in a little jug and was way too thick and strong tasting for me.
For a starter, main and drink each, our bill was just over £30, which I really didn't think the meal was worth. Wec ould have taken advantage of the 2 main meals for £10 from a set menu though, and if I end up going back, I will certainly be doing that. read more
