No it's not from Australia (if you know me well) probably but I got the feeling by looking around there were clothes, jewelry and wonderful gifts more than I can describe. There were so many pieces of hand made jewelry, one of a kind, and unique looking silver pieces of jewelry plus crystal jewelry that from my global buying experiences, it had the look of Fair Trade Global jewelry. There were beautiful one of a kind artwork on the walls. Much of the clothing I had the same styles or very similar. They had harem pants, skirts and kimonos. All affordable :)! There were other styles of clothing also. The lady owner was extremely friendly and answered my questions very politely. I need a visit back :)! I told her what I thought I was looking for and she found dresses that she knew would look good on me and make me feel special. We walked in as customers and left as friends. Since my dad wasn't allowed near the fitting rooms (which I understand) I expected staff assistance but I had to ask for help multiple times because I was alone. I was told to "hang on" and was never returned to. When I asked my dad for help he was quickly told to leave the area. He also wasn't welcomed in the main waiting area, so I couldn't show him my dress on the stage like other girls were able to do. I had to show him separately. I believe the store could be more welcoming and supportive of father-daughter pairs. We just wanted to share the same special experience as everyone else. Despite this we still purchased a dress because I loved it.

I spotted two pairs of shoes, jeans, dresses, etc. I liked everything. Honestly, I didnt think Madewell was for me, and I thought they were pretty pricey. How wrong was I? Shame on me! That didnt have the shoes in my size, but that was alright. The sales clerk was so nice to order one pair online for me. The second pair was sold out. I started adding more things to purchase because the clothing at Madewell is not that pricey at all. I told the woman working that it was unfortunate that the shop didn't carry larger sizes. I was told that she had found that larger size women did not want to pay the higher prices which I found incredibly rude and elitist. I pointed out to this woman that just the Shaw I had on cost $180 in San Antonio and that larger women I knew had money to burn. She asked me where we shopped as if she didn't believe me and made it clear that I was not her demographic. What a horrible experience!

I purchased a beautiful formal dress for a wedding for about $25 that used to be $100+. My favorite mustard yellow, low back, knot sweater comes from here. I love all their denim short styles. I usually wear a 5.5 in high heels instead of a 6 cause your feet slide forward, but their size 6 heels fit me well. So, if you have small feet, you can find cute heels here. I won a drawing last month for a complimentary personal shopper experience. I really didn't need anything per se, but I had an upcoming Yelp Elite event at Tommy Bahama's and wanted to see if there was anything. Marie, the store manager, was so nice and helpful. She helped me select dresses and heels based on my color preference. All of the staff that Monday night were sweet. They made it easy and fun. I ended up with 2 dresses and a pair of heels for the Spring/Summer. I love that 10% of my purchase went to a local charity, which changes every Monday. Although I didn't wear the dresses at the Yelp Elite event, I did wear the shoes!
