I didn't know I was in Madewell. A purse in the window caught my attention, and I turned around and went inside. I was only in there a second before I picked up this and looked at that. I spotted two pairs of shoes, jeans, dresses, etc. I liked everything. Honestly, I didnt think Madewell was for me, and I thought they were pretty pricey. How wrong was I? Shame on me! That didnt have the shoes in my size, but that was alright. The sales clerk was so nice to order one pair online for me. The second pair was sold out. I started adding more things to purchase because the clothing at Madewell is not that pricey at all. 11.14.24 My oldest daughter came to visit and we went shopping. She loves Maxwell blue jeans and their work pants. The store was organized and the staff were helpful. The stylist helped my daughter so much. She found some great jeans, jacket and some T-shirts. My daughter also ordered some dress pants they did not have in the store. I forgot to take photos. I am not sure i have left a review for a retail store before, but my experience at Madewell Market Street deserves one. I had exceptional customer service by everyone i interacted with (4 employees total) they were friendly, helpful, and knew their product. I also just got off the phone with them and the same service was extended. I find it rare to get good service anywhere anymore and it makes me anxious to even go out when i could just shop online. I do not shop at Madewell often, but i think i will moving forward. Clearly this place has good management and i hope they keep on breeding this workplace culture. read more

The Madewell company is known to produce great clothing for both women and men. Don't ask about the mens clothing line at this location, they will become awkwardly rude and tell you to drive to their store in Austin. Was here the other day while waiting for my nail appointment. The ladies kept checking on me, but after the third time I felt profiled. I picked out two purses and as I was waiting to get rung up, I couldn't help but notice how nice they were to the white man in front of me. The two associates rang him up. Offered him a box for his purchase and overall very helpful. When it was my turn, I asked for a gift receipt TWICE and didn't receive one. She threw one purse on top of the other. So far that has been my only purchases, but i plan on buying alot more! The staff is nice, but some of them are not very helpful. This is the second Madewell store I've been in. The first I went into was in NYC and I like this one alot better. The one in NYC was two levels and almost ridiculously large. This one is more intimate. I really love Market Street but wish that Anthropologie was in the same section (rather than being by the mall-lame!). I love shops setup with outdoor areas. Anyhow: All the sales clerks here are super helpful. All of their products are made of great materials and *ahem* Made Well. I know cheesy sounding but it is very true. Market street has quite a bit of boutique like places but many of them are very cheap and you can tell just by touching their materials. Everything here from the shoes to the t'shirts are wonderfully made and I will definitely be returning. I may have to start cheating on Anthropologie with this store. When you park here I recommend just going straight to the parking garage. The street parking can be a nightmare. read more

Love the brand and product for women's. It's a shame there is no men's product to shop from or even see a selection of fabrication or try on denim fits. Staff is ok. Most of them stand around and gossip or can never find anyone who is on the floor to help me and my husband. I think she was the store manager, short black hair, very helpful and knowledgeable on the denim. Another staff member her name was Josh, so rude a dismissive of myself and husband, almost judgmental and aggressive. During holiday a gentleman helped us, Christopher, so helpful with genuine kindness and knew everything about what my husband and I needed. Madewell, invest in people like him, inviting, energetic and willing to go above and beyond. Overall I will be a longtime customer of this J.Crew sister brand. Words can't describe how great this location is! I have been a loyal shopper with Madewell for years and this is by far the best location I've been too! Today I went in and was warmly welcomed by the assistant manager Josh, I've never met someone with such exceptional service and just an overall infectious personality! I even overheard her helping other customers with such a great knowledge and passion for the brand! I work in the center, but even if I didn't I would 100% drive out of my way to this location for the customer service alone! This Madewell is the best in Houston! Their customer service is superb! The associates always remember your name and unpretentious, unlike other Madewells. They are the first to remind you of sales and willing to do whatever it takes to give you the best deal. A charming shop in Town Center- quality jeans, leather clutches, bags, boots and heals. They have nice jackets, tops, sweaters and accessories. Its a bit pricey, but the products are meant to be quality and last- so hopefully your getting your moneys worth. I bought a pair of legging jeans for over 50% off so it was a steal. The elastic is supposed to be better than the rest because it does not stretch out throughout the day so that the fit is better. They will also hem your jeans to your length of choice free of charge, unless the jeans are on sale- those will set you back a mere $10.00. worth it! read more

I love Madewell, so my sister got me a generous gift card as a bridal gift so I could get new outfits for my Canada honeymoon. I was super excited, but one of the retail workers made me feel so unwelcome. One was helpful, but then the other retail worker cleared out my dressing room so I had to start over even though I'd left my jacket in there and the other girl was helping me pick up more items with multiple trips. Then, the same girl who cleared out my dressing room made a snarky comment right in front of my fiancé and I about how it was so annoying when customers tried on pretty much all clearance clothing and how she hated cleaning up after them. So then I was embarrassed and had to go around making a bigger mess pulling out the clothes I wanted to buy for a second time since my room had been cleared out. I'm definitely heading to an Austin location next time I want to get out of College Station and treat myself. Also, I came in on a Tuesday afternoon and they only had one other customer the whole time I was in there so it wasn't like they were very slammed or stressed out. read more

Went to madewell in market street on 12/29. They were having a great sale. But, no sale is good enough to overcome the rude, silent looks of disdain thrown around by the one person working in the store that afternoon, I walked in, she silently glared. Other customers walked in, she silently glared. I waked out, she silently glared. She is the only reason I didn't drop a couple of hundred dollars on clothes.
