Is it wrong of me to deduct a star just based on their militant and persistent use of "PLEASE DO…read moreNOT TOUCH" signs? I mean, on, like literally EVE. RY. THING. I haven't heard so many orders not to touch things since MC Hammer typewriter-danced around in parachute pants. Anyhoo, whatever your opinion, I'm doing it. Let's start with the good stuff. The real find at Bountiful Antiques is their downstairs... Chairs ... lots and lots of antique chairs in oak, maple, elm, and cherry. Rocking chairs, school desks, carved wood chairs with wooden seats, bankers chairs with still plenty of swivel in them, caboose captains chairs, press backs. ladder backs ... even some antique wood baby high-chairs. The downstairs also yields some real nice rolltop desks, tiered tables, lamp tables, side tables, drum tables, and the rest. They've got plenty of beautiful vintage suitcases hanging from the rafters. Upstairs, you'll find gems ... albeit overpriced gems. Their expertise and greatest gems come in antique Victrolas. And, my personal fave, the old RCA Victor Phonograph with a big replica dog they used to use in ads (if you don't know, Google "Nipper the dog"). There's also quite a substantial collection of antique tools. But, again, back to the inability to touch anything. The difference between museum-hopping and antiqueing is antiquers are LOOKING TO BUY. And antiquers usually don't buy what they can't touch. But still, it's worth a visit. Great stuff here. But, in the famous words of M.C. Hammer, you can't touch this....

Many phonographs, horns, Cylinder teaming tools and player needles. He has a lot of very fine antique furniture pieces too. Pricing was fair and reasonable. Bountiful Antiques is one I would recommend and go to over again.

I'm an oldies/60's/classic rock kind of girl (always have been, never cared for modern music) so…read morequite obviously when we visited SLC we had to hit up some antique stores, because I'm a hippie at heart and love collecting old things. Capital City Antique Mall came up in my search (well there was another but they are closed on Tuesdays), and I was very pleased to find that they were in a large warehouse with plenty of vendors. That just means tons of cool stuff to scour through! And indeed there was plenty of artifacts and fun finds to take my time perusing! There were a few items that I wanted but couldn't purchase for the sake of space or other reasons, but they were absolutely beautiful. The photos I've shared below are only scratching the surface of the gamut of items that you can find at the antique mall. I ended up purchasing some small items to add to my shelf of collectibles at home, including my very first glass insulator. The staff are nice and everything is quite reasonably priced compared to CA antique stores. We will definitely be revisiting Capital City Antique Mall the next time we are in SLC!

This place absolutely STACKED with the coolest antiques! Usually antique malls overwhelm me because…read morethey can be hard to navigate, but Capital City is neatly organized and you can tell they put a lot of work into making it a cohesive space. It's such a joy to wander around here and explore their vintage clothing, jewelry, knick knacks, and nearly anything you can dream of - all at an affordable price. Not only do they sell antique items, but I spotted some displays of locally crafted earrings and newer items in awesome condition. I come here to find a unique gift for special loved ones and always leave with more than what I was looking for. The employees are super friendly, which is a huge bonus. If you're looking for a fun and interesting date idea, take your date to Capital City and you won't be disappointed!

Some of my out-of-town family members now have it on their list to visit H&A whenever they're in town, we all love it so much. I was so sad that Cece and Moses (the owners) had to move out of their old location on 700 East - it was such a beautiful space that they worked so hard on. Their new location is definitely worth a visit too though. You'll find the same attention to beautiful design and amazing curation here. Cece's taste is second to none! Their family and employees are so friendly too and I'm amazed at how well Cece knows the store if you're looking for something specific. The prices are fair and not stupid overpriced like some secondhand areas have become. Such good clothes, furniture, accessories, gifts. There is parking in front of the store and it's easy to find.

The prices are very reasonable and there is always new merchandise to catch your eye. Everything from artwork to afghan blankets, from baskets to bird cages, couches to cookie jars. You can consign items here yourself, but they do take a large cut of the sale price. Their hours are limited, so check before you head over. This cute shop has big plans for the future. Look for better signage, personalized design services, and as always great new items. Check out their Instagram account for the latest and greatest!
