    Mixed meat shawarma

The food was amazing!! I have been around the world while I was in the Navy for 21 years and this shawarma is the best I have had since I was in Egypt! Great folks and awesome food!

Kindest people, house of shawarma in the back is worth the wait. everything is made in house--that's why it's so good. :)

Newroz Market is everything you want for lunch! Fresh grilled chicken and beef, perfectly cooked rice, flavorful garlic sauce, and hot baked flat bread. The service was friendly. The whole feel of the place was perfect. Newroz Market is a must try!

Proceed to the back. Order freshly prepared food. Sit down and be served. It is SO GOOD. Then shop around. When you get to the front you tell the cashier what you ordered in the back and she rings you up based on that. Service was spectacular. They make you feel welcome and they make delicious food.

We got the chicken sandwiches with extra garlic sauce and tahini sauce. The meat was delish and the bread was very soft and the outside crispy from the grill. There is a small dine in area inside the market and fresh bread made all day long. The halal meat is cut fresh as you want it as well and we always come to this market for fresh halal meat. There is also plenty of parking in the parking lot.

This is a great international (Kurdish) market! Housemade halva, fresh bread, meat counter, spices, figs, etc. Everything you need if you're cooking a Middle Eastern dish! Check it out!

Chicken shawarma. Huge-almost the diameter of the steering wheel.

I absolutely love these kinds of places: authentic, wonderful food, and inexpensive. I came to this Middle Eastern market (near the zoo) mainly for the chicken shawarma, in the back of the store.  You can either get the $5 version in a pita-type bread, or the larger $6 version in a giant naan-like flatbread, rolled up like a burrito.  You can also get gyro meat instead of chicken.   It was as expected: fragrant, flavorful, chewy, and satisfying.   They have all types of breads here at the back of the store: Giant flatbreads, naan-type breads, pita, and a few others that I'm not even familiar with.  I saw a lady load up her cart with about 20 of the 2-foot long flatbreads.   They must be good!  I'll try it next time.    Bottom line: delicious breads, shawarma/gyros/plates, all inexpensive and fresh.

Chicken Shawarma with everything and garlic sauce. Size, price and flavor done right. The best part- the freshly baked bread/saj!

House of Shawarma: Hands down one of the best chicken shawarma I have had. The bread is the best thing you will have ever had! Baked in-house and if you appreciate good bread, this is going to be the palate ruler. The chicken is flavorful and I have not had jalapeño in shawarma before but it does adds spice and pickle-tang. We got the garlic sauce; but add the tahini if you want it to be close to authentic. Now Newroz has baklava by the pound. They have those with nuts and, and... WAIT FOR IT! with SWEET CHEESE. If you thought baklava was with nuts of all kinds only, do your soul a favor and ask, seek the sweet cheese baklava. It is a flavor close to home and oh! so Soul satisfying. You don't know what you have been missing out on till you have tried that! So I think we will be visiting Newroz very often. One for a great value on the goods, for the shawarma, the fresh bakery, and for the baklava.

Cheap Eats....small beef shawarma with everything, spicy and garlic sauce

Here is another 5 Star for the food only....for the meat Shawarma to be exact. This Kurdish Middle Eastern Market seems to be getting more attention lately for the Shawarma as they keep running out of meat earlier. I stop by for a small beef/meat shawarma, loaded, spicy and with garlic sauce, when I am around that area. Check out the pic as it shows the freshness of the product. They recently added a new food stall with a new variety of foods, but I keep coming for the shawarma!

    #8 Chicken Sandwich
    Lauren K.

I stopped into Newroz Market today for lunch. I ordered the #8 chicken sandwich. It came with lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles in it but can be customized as everything is made to order. I am not usually a big fan of pickles but they definitely added a complexity to the sandwich and I would add the pickles again next time too. The chicken was perfectly spiced, hot, and moist. I added garlic sauce and hot sauce. The garlic sauce was garlicky but not overpowering. The bread was what made the sandwich stand out. The bread is made in house and was clearly fresh. It was light and chewy but crunchy on the outside after being grilled. The sandwich is quite large and could easily be shared. At $6 you can't beat the price. Customer service was fast and attentive and associates offered recommendations without me even having to ask. I will definitely be back for another sandwich and bread soon.

Oh love the kurdish shawarmas, they are great and fresh. Good options for what you want inside but if they used the real bread rather than wraps would just make it Lebanese style. Also do no forget to check out the fresh bread bakery in the back made by the old ladies with love, the meat bread and cheese breads are amazing

    Best shwarma!

Currently, almost 50% their customers are of Bangladeshi or Indian Bengali origin and so they have expanded the rare products from Bangladesh. From Ibco packaged fish of all kinds to Pran snacks and Radhuni masala products. They also had a variety of shutki (dry aged fermented fish). They also carry packaged frozen goods. Basically, I have no excuse to not cook an authentic Bengali meal! The same with Indian and Pakistani food spices- the range of products has expanded! Also, they are planning to offer a chaat corner. I was sad to see that go but I am glad to hear it will be back. For Middle-Eastern food supplies, with Newroz and Azadi next door I am sure the competition on product prices will be competitive. But the guy said they are keeping the lowest prices, and there are several products this will be true for. Again from Barakat to Ziyad packaged spices and soft cheese they have added a variety of products from this region. They had packaged halloumi! I haven't had halloumi in ages. I took Arabic food for granted all my life and all the new ingredients give me reason to try new recipes. The latino range is good as well. Mostly Goya products for now and again tons of ingredients I have to learn about. This is a clean and well-organized store, unlike the stereotypes. So it makes grocery shopping all the more pleasant. As they are growing, World wide market offers a membership, so a discount that applies after a certain spend and they are open to suggestions for products that perhaps you would like to see. They offer competitive prices, quality products and a clean shopping environment so it's overall a great place to shop. I am so glad that at the very least such a place exists nearby!

There's Azadi and Newroz (both of which I like as well) and then there's World Wide Market. WWM is different from the other stores in the shopping center - its inventory focuses more on South Asian food products (whereas Azadi and Newroz offer almost strictly Middle Eastern food products). BUT WWM has a lot for such a small store. Fresh produce (I packed up a package of mint here that cost about $2 - and it was about 5x as much mint as you get in those little plastic containers at Kroger or Fresh Market), jarred food products (I picked up some hot pepper paste), canned goods, frozen food products, spices, grains (I picked up some couscous), etc. It has a lot to offer. If you like to cook - and especially if you like to cook dishes from or inspired by South Asia or the Middle East, these markets (including WWM) should be on your radar.

My last visit was in mid-December of 2023 where Mazfresco was just a shell of its former glory with barely any products of interest, diminished produce options, and almost none of the items I use for Mexican cooking at home. This was one of our first stops. What a fun unassuming place. Walking in on a Saturday about 11 am there was a line in front, a line at the butcher and a line at the bakery. We oogled the aisles at the assortment of offerings and their very good prices. My son then started complaining about being hungry so we decided to return later. As I was leaving we said goodbye to the cashier. He asked if anything was wrong. I replied, no just have to feed my son. He nodded and we were off. 1/2 hour later we were back. This time no line. I asked about the lines. He stated it is normal but it does go fast. I can witness to that. I bought some bread and some sambusas (sp). 1 chicken, had a nice spice but the vegetable blew me away!!! So incredibly tasting I did not feel guilty it being a deep fried pie. We talked to the cashier about the bread. He asked if I went back to the bakery to see what was the freshest. I said I will be right back. I was and bought a few more packages. AMAZING and OMGosh, what a treat watching the bakers make the bread. Makes one wonder how far we have come to want to go back and see how much better authentic bread should and is still made. Should add, but I don't want to, they have a breakfast pizza with sausage in the am and it is limited. Oy...If you see me, get out of my way, I am not above cutting in line and paying you for it. Prices are very good, no dust, no questions on prices, everything clearly marked, (my pet peeve). How do you buy something not knowing the price? Chatted again with cashier about the store and our purchases. Really enjoyed our quick 2 trips in same day within 30 minutes of each other. Will be back for the amazing bread AND Vegetable Sambusas and sweet cashier. See pics of bread. HUGE bread - good for almost anything also made quick pizza for the kids who loved it. Soft yet had a nice chew to it a few days later. Stayed Fresh! I am in Carb heaven with the bakery and the cashier made the experience great too!
