It is Somali cuisine. Most of the dishes are a meat with either pasta or rice. I got the Goat with rice. They give you a pitcher of what seems like orange kool aid (sorry no disrespect). I can't really have sweets so I asked for a bottle of water. The staff members were friendly and accommodating. There is a sink on the outside of the men's room and I know in places like Afghanistan, they have these sinks to wash your hands because you eat with your hands - it is sunna to eat with your hands (spoons are also provided). They also have a little sectioned off area for people to pray in a similar way that places like House of Kebab have a prayer room. Everything is Halal and there seemed to be a fair amount of people in there. The rice was very flavorful. It reminded me of the rice at Al Rasoul or Osh. It had some raisin and red onion - the flavor combination was very delicious. The goat was as expected. The flavor was good, be wary of small bones. The cost may seem higher than expected but it was a LOT of food. I ate off it for the next several days. Also if you want to support a locally owned Somali business I recommend it.

My husband and I came here excited to try some authentic Tennessee BBQ and everything was honestly so good. I got the brisket with baked beans and mac & cheese, while my husband got the chicken with green beans and baked beans. First off... the brisket was SO tender and juicy. It paired perfectly with the BBQ sauce and those baked beans? OH MY GOD. The baked beans were seriously the star of the meal for me.. sweet, smoky, flavorful, and completely addicting. I could've eaten a whole bowl by myself The mac & cheese was also creamy and delicious, just solid comfort food all around. My husband loved his chicken too. Super juicy, flavorful, and not dry at all which is always a win with BBQ chicken. I also tried the Tennessee Sour and let me just say... they do not play around with drinks out here It was really good, but one more and I probably would've been done for the night lol. The hospitality here was amazing. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and helpful which made the experience even better. Definitely a spot we'd come back to anytime we're in Nashville again. Thank you for such a great first BBQ experience in Tennessee! :)

What a disappointment!!!! Brisket was moist but had no flavor, the hoe cakes were bland, the hush puppies were dry. The rib were good as long as you put sauce on them . We also got pecan pie and fudge pie. The pecan was ok, but the fudge pie was gritty and pastie. We also got a root beer which was flat. We asked the guy who brought our food if we could get it replaced and he just stood there like he didn't understand. Then said I don't know and walked away. Terrible experience. So sad.

The restaurant is well established and doesn't rely on frills and gimmicks to attract their clientele. Lots of brown and neutrals dominate the aesthetic - cultural decor and an occasional tv can be spotted along the walls. All the kebabs are well seasoned and full of flavor. The meat is both crispy and juicy. The complimentary pita is served warm and is pillowy soft. Some of my favorite hidden gems on this menu are on the appetizer list. Don't skip over the chefs appetizer with creamy cheese, olives, herbs and ground walnuts! I also love the light but flavorful white bean soup with tomato broth and generous chunks of chicken.

They maintain an impressively enormous menu with just about every style of kabob on the planet! They also serve lamb shanks, gyros, and falafel among other options. The lamb is extraordinarily tender and pretty tasty, although the flavor isn't nearly as good as the best I've eaten in the Middle East. But I have unfairly high standards as a world traveler. The beef dishes are very good too, but again, not the best I've had. The service is fantastic with welcoming employees who make you feel right at home. House of Kabob is a worthy stop if you love Persian cuisine.
