I went in to buy a box for a package I had to send. The advantage of this place being a convenience store in addition to a shipping center is that they have plenty of used boxes lying around that they are happy to give you for your shipping needs. They were very nice bearing with me and even let me borrow a measuring tape as I had to go around and measure several boxes to find the one that would fit my needs. This is a great local business that fills a need in the community! It also is great to have a store that sells odds and ends in this area, and a place that you can go for shipping with much more flexible hours than the post office. read more

Purely from the USPS services only: I would give them 10 stars if I could. I have never mailed a package so quickly and easily. The owner was able to adeptly give me my shipping options and recommendations of best choice for my needs. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Same cost as going to the actual post office without the headache. Bonus: MUCH better hours than the regular post office, so no more speeding out of work like a bat out of hell to make the 5pm cutoff. read more

They advertise as a FedEx onsite store. Just found out they don't do returns with A QR for the label because they can't scan the QR code. Very disappointing, esp after I dragged in a 40 lb box to be returned. Get with the times. Most retailers now make it easy for consumers to return using a QR code. Don't make it harder for consumers. I can't imagine I'm the first person to want to drop off a return using a QR code in Bethesda read more

For the last few months, the employees have said that they are no longer allowed to scan in packages which I found suspicious, so I didn't mail here for a while. Any company that accepts post office packages is suppose to scan them in if you ask. I finally mailed here recently to test it out. 1 package was paid for there, so it was scanned in, and I left 1 other package there that had already been paid for, so they would not scan it in. That package that was not scanned in went missing completely and tracking never showed that it even moved from there. So the very first time that I mailed here since the employees decided to stop scanning in packages, it vanishes! So never leave packages here because they will not arrive and they will go missing! read more

What a joke this place is. Everything is absurdly overpriced, and then there's the ten dollar minimum debit/credit. Lets breakdown the store, shall we? You want a bottle of mouthwash? That will be $9.00. A single bar of soap? That will be $2.50 A box of generic floss? That will be $4.00 A bottle of Cupcake wine? ~$12-$13 You get the idea. Prices here for items you can purchase at CVS are HIGHLY inflated. I understand you pay an upcharge for convenience, but this is absurd. This store is what I call a "Ward 8" store. I.e. you walk in and there's horse betting and keno-esque gambling going on with a sad looking fold-able table in the front. The staff, who are most likely the owners, speak broken english and make for a difficult transaction. The merchandise is sprawled around without care for much organization. I've also noticed items marked not for resell and not for sale individually ... being sold on the shelves. It would be interesting if their vendors caught wind of this. The prices are only on half the items, so its a surprise when you're rung up. Questioning the price only raises questions from 'the man' behind the counter that you are crazy for inquiring. The overall feel of the store is dirty. Of note, they do have a post office there, which is nice I guess? The policy of $10.00 minimum is two fold. One is that they have an ATM next to the register, with an absorbent ATM fee. The other is that they try to make you buy more. Fortunately I have a bank which reimburses atm fees, but its much more of a hassle then I want to deal with. They are chasing away a significant amount of business. If they are reading this - I hate to tell you about basic business operations, but having a dollar in your hand with a small amount of fees, is better then not having a dollar at all. I've walked out of this place now twice, and will not be returning. CVS is right down the street as is a much more reasonable/better selection beer and wine store (actually one block away). I work directly across the street, and most people from my office (along with others I've spoken with in the Cordell area) will not buy items here after noting many of the items I mentioned. read more

I was really excited when this place opened up... I live in one of the apartment buildings next door It's great that they are a USPS location... But that's about where my praise ends for one big reason... They have a $10 minimum for credit card purchases. I can't tell u how many times I think 'oh I could just run over to the convenience store and get ____". But then I realize I'd have to go to the ATM first and decide it's just not worth the hassle. In a day and age where most of us use credit and debit cards for just about everything... This is a deal breaker for me! read more

The other reviewers seem to think that a convenience store should have super low prices on items like soap and toothpaste. If you buy your household staples at the grocery store like everyone else, the extra $$ you spend here won't be a big deal on the random occasion you need that single bar of soap. This place is great to stop in for beer and wine and the occasional, albeit not cheap, staple, like limes, a bag of chips or that random bar of soap. I will gladly pay 50 cents or a dollar extra for the convenience of just walking downstairs from my apartment. While minimum credit charges are not my favorite, if you already know there's a $10 minimum, then just buy something else you need while you're there, it's not that hard. If you're living in Bethesda, you can clearly afford it. The guys that work at the desk are actually really friendly and recognize me whenever I come in there. There aren't many places in Bethesda that I can say the same thing about despite often frequenting them as well. If you haven't been in a while, they also have a vastly improved beer and wine selection that is just as reasonably priced as the other beer/wine store around the corner (which I also enjoy). read more

I love going here for all my USPS shipping needs. Rudy is ALWAYS very helpful and patient even when he is multi-tasking the USPS register and store register. I will never go back to a USPS location where they are 9/10 rude and as if I were inconveniencing them. Its very convenient location if you are running a very busy schedule between getting express mail, some light supplies and picking a quick snack to go. However I must warn you. There is an individual in the evening shift who lacks manners, class and consist of very very rude customer service. As my buddy and I went in to pick a box of Japanese styled sea weed, in his deregotory and utter not subtle manner insulted us to the point where we felt we should report him to the police but instead we remained cool and went about our business. This place puts the word "convenience" in "convenience store." Though they have a lot of small toiletries and snacks, I primarily come here to mail packages and buy stamps. They have a completely separate counter for their post office transactions, which is off to the side a little from the main counter. The staff is friendly and point customers in the right direction if asked. However, be advised that they have a $10 minimum for customers using credit cards (otherwise, you pay a fee). I recently brought in a hard-cover book that I wanted to send cross-country, and the staff helped me find a correctly sized First-Class mail envelop, weighed the package, and gave me tracking information. My package weighed just under 12 ounces and took 3 days to arrive, and the whole transaction cost me $5.66. I also recently bought a book of Forever stamps there (16 stamps in total), and that cost me $8.80. If you're looking for a convenient place for sending your mail or buying small items, this is a great spot! read more

Super nice owner and staff, always helpful when I am mailing things for business or personal use. As for the prices, they are normal convenience store prices. If you want to save some money on a bag of chips, candy bar and a soda then take an extra twenty minutes out of your busy day to walk to a nearby grocery store and stand in line. How much is your time worth? Credit card processors typically have a charge per swipe, they also typically charge 3-4% per transaction. This is a small business which probably supports an entire family. I have no problem with a minimum credit card fee. Although I don't use cash very often, I always have at least $20 cash with me in case of emergency anyway. read more
